The book is by Wilson Rawls. You may also know him as the author of the book called The Summer Of The Monkeys. Where The Red Fern Grows has 249 pages, and the genre of this book is realistc fiction, the things in this book could really happen to you or to someone. Where The Red Fern Grows is in the 'Ozark Moutins of Cherokee Country,' the time is the early 1900's . This boy named Billy gets these dog's Old Dan and Little Ann.They go on these great adventures , but one night they get lost and the power of the dogs end ... Then theirs a specal thing thet happens ... thats Where The Red Fern Grows. I liked many things in this wonderful book. Here are some reasons why I liked this book : 1.Because it tells about a boys life and what he goes through and how to get what he wants in life . 2.Because it tells how you can work together to bring glory and victory to your self. 3.Because it tells how you can love someone or something that you would do anything for them. I think this book is for older readers that don't just skim through books. They need to take time to understand this book, because it's hard to understand a book that you don't read all the way throug. You need to read Where The Red Fern Grows and enjoy all the exciting ,victorie , glory , and sadness of this book. When I first picked up this book I said 'How in the world am I goging to read this book !' But I didn't think of how long the book was when I got started with it. to be continued ...
Rating: Summary: Dan The Man's Book Review Review: Where The Red Fern Growes is by far the most detailed book I have ever read. It is a book about a boy and his two hunting dogs. His two dogs are coon hounds. His tougher wilder coon hound's name is Old Dan. His smarter more intelligant hound's name is Little Ann. He and his dogs encounter danger, excitment, wonder, adventure, and very bad storms. The most exciting part of the book was when the meet the mountain lion. The mountain lion almost killed Old Dan and injered Little Ann. I will not tell you what happens to them though. I think this is a very touching and spirtual book because every chapter pieces the book together. I bawled when I read this book. I think the dogs are the best hunting dogs in the world. they will only hunt with the boy. They are a perfect pair braines and toughness.
Rating: Summary: A book that I didn't like Review: Where the Red Fern Grows is a poor book, in my opinion. It was okay the first time I read it in the 4th grade, but now in the 7th grade when I read it, I didn't like it. It wasn't really intressting, exept for the parts when Billy and his dogs went hunting. I really didn't like the part of the book when both dogs died, just like that. Then the family cried a little bit and the next Spring they didn't really act like they were sad. I didn't think that was very realistic.
Rating: Summary: This is what i thought of Where The Red Fern Grows Review: The main character is a boy named Billy. Billy had wanted a hound dog for a long time, and when he had thought of saving up enough money to buy dogs it took him 2 years to work off the money. Billy had become a realy good coon hunter and when 2 brothers from 5 miles up the hill had made a bet that Billy couldn't catch a ghost coon Billy had bet them he could. The night that they went hunting, Rubin had died.Rubin had fell on billys ax.The story was great.
Rating: Summary: Excclent Book Review: I thought Where the Red Fern Grows was a really good book.Billy a 12 year old boy want some dogs. Not just any dogs coon hounds. The family is too poor to buy them. This shows how lets detrminenation triumph no matter how long it takes him to buy those dogs. The bond of his dogs and grow sronger over time. This was a great book
Rating: Summary: Where the Red Fern Grows Review: This story is about a boy and his adventures with two dogs. It takes place during the Depression years. Most people were poor then, and Billy worked hard to get the money to buy his hunting dogs. He trained his dogs to be two of the best coon hounds in the region. The story is exciting and teaches a good lesson about hard work, love, and devotion.

This was a very good book, which took me to the Ozark Mountains. The main characters in this story are Billy, Old Dan and Little Ann. In this story, Billy buys two dogs to hunt with. In the end, Billy hunts his last time and they end up with fighting a mountain lion. That is why I rate this book: 5 stars. So, I recommend you read "Where the Red Ferns Grow" because you too would go on the adventure I went on
