Summary: My Review
Review: The Pigman by Paul Zindel is not a thriller, but it is an okay book. It is about an old guy, Angelo Pignati, who is a retired electrician. He inherits a ceramic pig collection from his late wife, and goes to the zoo to feed Bobo, the monkey.
A group of young kids randomly prank call people from the phone book to see who can keep a person on the phone the longest. One day Lorraine calls Pignati and says she's taking donations for an organization. Pignati agrees to meet her and John to donate ten dollars. They arrive at Pignati's place and he shows them his pig collection.
The kids learn some lessons about friendship as they become closer to the old man.

Summary: PIGMAN BOOK REVIEW
Review: "The Pigman" overall was a mediocre book. It had its touching parts, its nice parts, and its awful parts. It seemed a little juvenile for a book to be read in high skool. But, if you are a younger reader in about 7th grade, then this book is a good choice. Another one of its downfalls is that it's over 30 years old and a little outdated. I feel the plot held together, and most of the events were believable. Even though the plot was well held together, it wasn't a very good plot overall; and could have been written much better. Overall, I recommend this book it you've read everything else in your house.

Summary: Pigman Review
Review: I enjoyed reading The Pigman by Paul Zindel. However, I don't think I would have chosen to read it if it wasn't required reading, because it was very depressing. I usually read books that are mysteries, funny, or about something I'm interested in.
I think it is interesting the way Paul Zindel makes the reader feel the confusion and loneliness of being a teenager, and then makes us feel the confusion and loneliness of being elderly. The Pigman demonstrates to us how we can fill the emptiness in each other's lives.
Angelo Pignati had no one left in life to love him. When John and Lorraine came into his left he felt needed and like a kid again.
John and Lorraine felt lonely and misunderstood. Mr. Pignati gave them the unconditional love that they needed.
Paul Zindel also shows us the loneliness of being a parent. I feel John and Lorraine's parents wanted the best for their children, but they also are confused and misunderstood.
The Pigman shows us the loneliness we can feel at any stage of our lives. It teaches us that we need to show interest and love to each other, even if we don't completely understand each other.

Summary: Fairly good book
Review: In Paul Zindel's book, The Pigman, two young teens, John Conlan and Lorraine Jensen seem to have some what troubled lives, both of their parents don't seem to care to much about them which I think causes John and Lorraine to feel somewhat lonely and confused, and ends up causing a big problem in the story.
Both John and Lorraine had no idea what they were getting themselves into by playing one simple game and it lead to big problems and mixed emotions.
This all takes place In Stanton Island, the main characters include John,Lorraine,Mr.Angelo Pignati, and Bobo.
This Book starts off some what slow but in the end turns out to be a pretty good book with a few good surprises, Its a book you have to look beyond just the main plot to find out the true message. I do reccomend it.

Summary: The Pigman review
Review: I thought The Pigman by Paul Zindel was an alright book. I liked the whole book until the end because it was exciting but the end was just terrible. I like how the book shows how the friendship of John, Lorraine and the Pigman grew throughout the book. The near end is a shock, but overall the book is an alright book, but I suggest that you don't read if you don't have to. If you have to read this book all I have to say is HAVE FUN.

Summary: Pigman Review
Review: I thought the Pigman was a very good book. I heard that the book was boring, and didn't have a good plot. When I read the book I realized you can't believe everything you hear. I think I liked the book so much because it's sad, and relates to real life issues teenagers face. Such as being offered drugs and alcohol, and peer pressure. I can also relate to Lorraine because I know what it feels like to not have your parents around all the time because of work. The book was also somewhat suspensful between chapters which makes you want to read on. In addition to that, the book is not too long, because sometimes when you see a long book you get intimidated and dont want to read it. I think this is a very well written book, and I give it four stars!

Summary: The friendships in the Pigman
Review: The book The Pigman, I think is a very good book. It shows how friendships can developed from different age groups. Just look at the friendship John, Lorraine, and Mr. Pignati had. Before they even knew each other, Mr. Pignati was trying to make Lorraine laugh by telling jokes. He also was kind, and nice. Maybe part of that had to do with him being lonely, but still he could have been mean, and rude. In some ways Mr. Pignati had a grandfather feeling to him. He kinda acted like a grandfather to Lorraine, and John. Mr. Pignati would buy them things like roller-skates, and take them places. Not only did he act like a grandfather to them but he was also a friend. Both John, and Lorraine felt that when they were over Mr. Pignati's house, it was a place for them to relax, and to get away from their family troubles. Before they knew it, the three of them, had bonded so much that no matter what happened, they would always come back together and they would always be together no matter where they were. In their hearts they were like family.

Summary: The Pigman Review
Review: The book The Pigman was written by Paul Zindel. This novel is about two high school teenagers, John and Lorraine, that did unusual things like prank phone calls with their friends. They end up meeting a man named Angelo Pignati, nicknamed the Pigman.
John and Lorraine don't have the best families in world. Lorraine only has a mother, who never pays any attention to her, and John has great parents, but it seems like the family is falling apart. While John and Lorraine are at their friend's house, they decide to make prank calls. Lorraine made a prank call to Angelo Pignati who sounds to be a very happy person. John and Lorraine went to visit the man and found out that he was happy because he is a lonely man and is never around many people. When they went to the zoo and found out that he named a baboon Bobo, and that his wife was dead they started to hang out with him. Later they become friends with the Pigman and that brought out the inner child in him. However, not for long does John and Lorraine betray Mr. Pignati.
I thought this was an okay book because not only is this book written good to keep you reading, it also relates to what teens are like. The only part that I didn't like about the book was the beginning because it kind of gave away how the book was going to end and because some chapters were boring and didn't want to make you read on.

Summary: The Pigmanis bad
Review: Mark Steinmetz

Pual Zindel's book The Pigman was a really bad book.

The story line was incredibly stupid, dry, and boring. The main plot is that two high school students named Jhon and Lorraine befrind an old and lonley man named Angelo Pignati. They call him the pigman because he collects small ceramic pigs. The old man is friends with a baboon from the local zoo and he goes to see him whenever they can. However in the end the lovable baboon bobo dies and when the "pigman" hears this he suffers from a heart attack since he was already very sick at the time. All in all I thought the book was a little on the stupid side. The parts about the old man and the baboon were just plain dumb and in some scenes rather pointless. However it did have it's good points. Like how strong the relationship with the pigman and the kids was. That was one of the few good points and there relationship was also very heartwarming, and touching. Another good point was how Jhon the "bad boy" turned into almost a different person although he still had that calm and cool demenor he cared deeply for the pigman as did Lorraine. It was also interesting to see Lorraine interact with her mother because they never really could connect with each other. All in all this story did have it's moments but I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
