Summary: disapointing
Review: When I started reading this book, I was astounded that this level of reading level would be accepted for the grade nine curriculum. It would be useful for encouraging young children to read, but certainly should not be used in teaching young adults about good english litterature. I, personally, did not enjoy it, and found it to be rather pathetic for my standards.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I thought that this was a very descriptive, good book.
Review: I enjoyed how you really get to know the characters and things that have happened in their lives. This story is very good, but a little sad. If you like books where characters are well described than this book is for you.

Summary: Best book I ever read
Review: This book was so great. Lorraine and John are brought to life in this sad, yet hallarious story. Zindel has the choice of words that could describe the inner desires of anyone. I have read several of his books many times, simply because he is the BEST author that Lives. The Pigman made me cry, laugh and say, "Settle down a bit John." Zindel is a perfect writer and he strikes the match that burns my desire to write.

Summary: It can use some more exitment.
Review: This book has too much of the worst things in life, and I just like a book that gets you away from reality, not one that shows you the worst of it.

Summary: This book is great if you have to do a book report.
Review: This book is great if you have to do a book report. It has everything you need. But it is great just to read for fun too! Thanks!

Summary: an excellent book how 2 teenagers learn about life
Review: The Pigman I think is the best book I have ever read. Its about 2 teenagers, John and Lorraine learn about life. They both love to make prank calls. One day they made a prank call to the pigman. The two kids act as charity people. They go to his house for money. All they see is a nice big smile on his face. He is a nice lonely old man who would die just for someone to talk to. Then the kids start to go to his house alot. They find out his whole sad and zainy story. The Pigman is one of the best book ever made in history. So, if you want to read a book, read the Pigman.

Summary: Two teens learn a valuable life lesson as a new friend dies
Review: I think that this book is really good. It is very sensitive and easy to understand. It has a lot of humor and gives you a lot of detail of each character, not only physical descriptions but mental descriptions. I think that this is the kind of book every teenager would like to read. This book has alot of action in every chapter, which leaves you very into the book. Alot of new interesting things happen in each chapter. As the story develops, you get to know the characters alot more in depth, and you begin to feel differently about the characters. This marvelous book gives you a very good feel about the setting, because all of the characters seem to live in a small town where everyone knows each other. I often find myself comparing my friends and our relationships to the ones with the characters in the book. I feel this is a contemporary story, because the characters do things alot of people in high school do now. For example, prank calling is something classic to do, ( of coarse now with caller id, it's virtually impossible). I also believe what makes this story very interesting, is that it is very realistic. For example, the way that John and Lorrain get involved with Mr. Pignati, and the fact that each of the characters had their problems. I belive that all of the problems John and Lorraine had got them closer to Mr. Pignati. I have read many stories with the same moral as this one, but this story develops in a very peculiar way.

Summary: I was hesitant to finish this book
Review: The Pigman was one of the best books I have ever read. It really takes a lot for me to cry over a book, and I wept over this one. I was reading this book during a long car trip, and as I saw the thickness of what I had left to read diminishing I found myself reading slower so that the end of the book wouldn't come so soon. So when I finally finished the book, I sat there with tears running down my face and my mother making fun of me because I looked like such a dork. As I read how the Pigman changed John and Lorraine, I wished I could meet a Pigman of my own.

Summary: The Pigman: Worst book I have ever read
Review: The Pigman was despicable. It was horribly written, had the most unrealistic characters and if that was not enough, the story had no closure to it. It ended with no type of resolution, leaving you hanging, just like that. The Pigman definitely did not deserve one star and the only thing I am sorry about, is that I am sorry that wasted my time reading it. I should known better just by reading the title.

Summary: "The Pigman" shows great meaning and lessons in life
Review: Though like every book, "The Pigman" has it's faults, but overall this book has a lot of meaning, and I think we could all learn from it. I had to read the book for a literature class, and give my opinion of it because it is one of many classics that have been challenged or banned from schools everywhere. Those who said that this was a waste of their time, and support the banning of this book are the same people who read only what is written on the pages, and no further. You have to look deeper than that. If you don't you won't get much of anything out of life.
