Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Unusually interesting
Review: This was a good book, but the reason I only gave it 4 stars, is because it gets a little confusing during parts. It was kind of weird, like half real life, and half not. Otherwise, a great story.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: This is a great book that everyone should read
Review: I did a summary on the book The Pigman by Paul Zindel. It is a book about two kids who make friends with an old man. They do this by pranking people saying they are a charity asking for donations. The Pigman "MR. Pignati" was the victim of the prank. It turns out that the characters feel bad for the man and give him back his donation. During the story, the Pigman and the other people go to the zoo almost every week. At the zoo Mr. Pignati has a friend baboon named, Bobo. Mr. Pignati feeds the baboon peanuts and ends up getting him very sick. At the end Mr. Pignati has a heart attack and is hospitalized. A few days before he is getting out of the hospital the kids have a party because they think he would like them to have fun. It turns out that the party is crashed and many valuable items are broken. That is of most of the book and I will let you figure out the end by reading the book The Pigman. The book is very good and I suggest that everyone who has a chance to read it, does. I give this book a four star rating.

Summary: Two sophmores tell the epic story of The Pigman.
Review: The book "The Pigman" is about Sophomore students named John and Lorain. The story is a memorial epic for the Pigman after he dies. John and Lorain tell the whole story of how they met the Pigman, how they became friends and how he died. John begins the book and then Lorain and John alternate writing each chapter of the story.

Lorain and John are very different types of people but they also have things in common. They are both very troubled but in different ways. Lorain lives with her mother who thinks all men are evil because of Lorain's father. John refers to his father as "The Boar" who wants him to be more practical and not follow his dream of being an actor.

I give this book **** (four stars out of five) because I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was very realistic and the characters are believable. The book is fiction but it is so detailed you would think it actually happened. I would recommend that you read this book and it's sequel "The Pigman's Legacy" Which is another epic by John and Lorain that describes the events after the Pigman died.

Summary: Awesome Book! A Must Read!
Review: This book comes off as boring when you first open it and start to read it. The only reason that I continued to read it was that my teacher was sure that I would love it. Boy did I. This was the first book that I actually enjoyed reading, because it related to real kids and the feelings that we have. Most books that we have to read have to deal with our history and they are really boring it was nice to read a book that I could relate to. I also found this book funny. The best part for me was that some of the pranks that they did My friends and I had done ourselves. I often found my self choosing to read before my basketball practices and after, it became a joy and kinda like a reward. What can I say this was a great book and I would defiently encourage YOU to read it.

Summary: A thought-provoking, mostly realistic book
Review: John and Lorraine are two high school sophomores when they meet Mr. Pignati while playing a phone game. I said it was a thought-provoking book because the author lets you imagine a lot of the details of the book, because, really, the Pigman was not very deeply described. And his life was not really fully described, either. I rate this book overall with 4 stars because I enjoyed the realistic parts of the book. They all have problems, physical or mental or emotional. This is very realistic and even John and Lorraine lying to their parents is pretty realistic. I recommend reading this book, because it kept me interested, but I was kind of disappointed at the end for some reason.

Summary: This novel is a very inspiring novel for teenagers.
Review: "The Pigman", by Paul Zindel, was written in 1968. The two characters in the novel, John and Lorriane, are teenagers who meet an old man, Mr.Pignati, by making crank phone calls. In the following days they begin to get very close to him after visiting his house a few times. Both realize how lonely but sweet he is and the novel continues on from there. This novel really interested me because I felt that teenagers could relate to John and Lorraine's problems.Teenagers in 1968 delt with the same problems that teens are facing now in 1999.Problems such as such as smoking drugs & cigarrettes, drinking alchohol and they are pressered into having sex also.I enjoyed this because it deals with problems of an everyday life of a teenager. Everything is realistic in this novel, especially the characters. Most teenagers do what John and Lorraine do in their spare time. Many teens have problems with their parents, they smoke drink and party like every other person. I liked the way Paul Zindel layed out the plot of the story. It wasn't too confusing or boring for me. He explained all the details clearly and I understood everything that happened. If I were to recommend this novel to anyone I htink it would be best for teens, but then again I think anyone would enjoy this book. Yours Sincerly, Donna Lethbridge

Summary: Awesome Book
Review: A lonley man with a big secret. One kid that want's to cheat him and one that want's to love him. Paul Zindel's novel is humourous & realistic. The characters in his novel describe how teenagers act these days. When the story opens John, Lorriane and Norton are playing pranks. They all learn that help them mature and change their lives. The plot is exciting, fast moving and the characters are humourous. Without telling you the whole storie, this novel brings up important facts about life. The Pigman is a good book that teaches some morals and should be read by all ages.

Summary: The novel the pigman is a great story
Review: Paul Zindel's novel The Pigman is a great story about what teenagers do today. It was about two teenagers who became friends with an lonely old man whose name was Mr. Pignati. They find out that Mr. Pignati is keeping a real big secret from everyone. The characters in thyis novel are like people in real life today. There a group of teenagers who hang out at a cemetery to drink and at home they play pranks on the telephone. There is a old man that his lonely and meets two teenage friends who he gives everything too and the parents are loving and caring. In this novel there are many different themes. There were five main ones that I found and they were affection, true friendship, relationships, dealth and why people act and behave the way they do. The themes suits the novel really well. It tells what is important in a teenagers life growing up. This novel was really interesting and I encourage young teenagers to read it.
