Rating: Summary: The "Pigman"?!? The title tells how lame the book is. Review: I merely read this book because i had to for a class assignmeant. It was my second time trying to read the book with some kind of enjoyment.I thought that this book was one of the worst books ever written by Paul Zindel.By the time i got to the climax of the story i was exited not because of suspence just because i was soo... happy that the story was almost over. The book didnt teach me anything but that you cant pretend that your problems arent there because one day they will hit you dead in your face.
Rating: Summary: 2 teenagers enter the lonely life of an old, giving man Review: Two teenagers called a lonely man and asked for money, describing themselves as charity workers. The next day they went to pick up the money from the man who lived nearby, finding him very sweet and funny. He was also giving and very honest to the kids. But soon enough the teenagers find out the shocking secret of Mr. Pignati's past and soon discover his future. A great book for teenagers. It really describes the realistic life of two different teenagers.

Rating: Summary: A truly amazing book. It relates to how teens feel. Review: I just got done reading "the pigman" by Paul Zindel, for my Freshmen Honors English class. It was a fantastic story that relates to how teenagers cope with emotions and it is an overall great story. I can't think why anyone would give this book any lower than a 5 star rating.
Rating: Summary: It was the kind of book that kept me reading! Review: I would say that The Pigman was a very interesting book. It was a strange but good book. I would highly recomend it to anyone who wants a good read.
Rating: Summary: More serious literature? Review: The Amazon article entitled "kicking the horror habit" by one Patty Cambell lists this garbage as an introduction to more "serious" literature. How foolish of us to think that Edgar Allan Poe & Bram Stoker & Stephen King were not serious compared to this womans choices.Patty Campbell is the young adult columnist for Horn Book magazine and the editor of Twayne's Young Adult Author Series and Scarecrow's Studies in YA Lit.
Rating: Summary: It's a good book, just not for me . . . Review: This was a well written book. I can say that many people will benifit from reading it. There are certain parts in it, actually, that I almost cried during. Yet, I don't feel that it is the best book I have ever read, but it's definitely not the worst by far!
Rating: Summary: Plot Outline For kids in school who dont want to read it Review: This book was boring to say in the least. Any wayse here is what happens. 1.Exposition- John is a kid with bad parents and plays jokes on people, smokes and drinks. Inside he is really a ok kid. Lorraine is a lonely (b4 John) HS girl who meets john. She like phycology. 2.Complication- They make prank calls all the time and meet Mr Pignatti. They become friends w/ him. They roller skate in a store, talk and eat chocolate ants. Later Mr P. has a heart attack. John and Lorraine have a party where Norton destroys all of pignatti's pigs. Mr. P. comes back and gets depressed. 3. Climax-John and lorraine take Mr. P. to the zoo to meet with bobo. When Mr. P. finds out bobo is dead he falls over dead. 4.Denouement-John realizes that what you make of you life is your own decision. ------- Symbols- When MrP's pigs get broken it is like part of Mr P is being broken. Lorraines dream symbolizes death.. of Bobo & Mr P. Setting-Takes place in their town, Mr. P's house, and a little school --Something to know- During the story the point of view switches between John and Lorraine. You get more details from John than lorraine. It's like Zindel favored the male whice may have made him sexest but who cares
Rating: Summary: Read this book it is wicked exciting and COOL! Review: The book I'm reviewing is called "The Pigman" by Paul Zindel. This book involves a boy named John and a girl named Lorraine and a old man who they called The Pigman. This story starts out when John and Lorraine spend there time playing tricks on people. One time when they were walking down the street they see a old house and walk over to it. They think its abandoned so they walk in. In there they find a very old man and the man keeps repeating "Go away." The next day they come back and bring the man some chocolates. The man seems happy and tells him his name. My favorite part in the story is when they all go roller blading in a store. It was very funny. In the end you who is the Pigman's only friend I won't tell you now but if you would like to find out read the book. I would recommend that if you love books you should read this one. Ô¿ô ©
