Rating: Summary: Pigman Review: I thought that the book was sad. The book in my words was dull. Everything was pretty much good, but it kept repeating itself. The book started off good, and got my attention in the begining with the bombs. Untill they met the pigman, and started doing the same thing over and over day after day. I would not recomend this book to readers. Unless you are bored and need something to do.
Rating: Summary: The Pigman Review Review: In these few paragraphs I'm going to give you my review over The Pigman. Well,in the beginning it was kind of boring because everything was happening over and over again. I wanted a little more action, some thriller. There was no fluctuation in the beginning. As I progressed through the middle I npoticed it was getting better. When I got to the ending the book was getting great. There was more details in the end that I could imagine. Oh well, lets move on. At the end I got into the book. The Pigman was telling stories of his own. The Pigman went back to his childhood years. I loved the book at the end. It was talking about everything I like. If I could rate this book on a 5 star count I'd rate it a 3. All though the ending was good, this book isn't for me.
Rating: Summary: A One Star Book- If That Review: The Pigman was an unsatisfactory book for me. I found the plot dull and repetitive. The author, Paul Zindel, creates the book around two teenagers who take turns writing chapters. The context is boring and not stimulating, and the common references to psychology can become annoying. Also, in my opinion, the plot is also boring. It is about two teens who visit an old man almost every day. I can't tell what this book is supposed to be. A suspense story? No, not hardly. A mystery? Nope. Action/Adventure? Yeah, right. And pinmen fly. I would not recommend this book to anyone, unless you like a book to put you to sleep. The plot seems like something the author could have thought up in a couple of minutes. It is not worth your time or money.
Rating: Summary: The Pigman Review: The book Pigman is a fantastic story for any teen. I loved hoe the author chose to alternate chapters between the two main charaters. Also the discussion of pranks is as very popular with all jr. high students.
Rating: Summary: A Must-Read for Sure Review: After reading A BEGONIA FOR MISS APPLEBAUM, a teacher reccomended this book to me because I had enjoyed Paul Zindel's creative writing style so much. I am very glad that I got my hands on a copy because it was definetely one of the best books I have EVER read, and I think many people could enjoy it as well. Paul Zindel has woven this zany story into two parts written by its main characters, Lorraine and John, who tell this fast paced story by each "writing" every other chapter themselves. I completly enjoyed reading the opinoins both characters shares, (and had a blast reading their dissagreements, too!). THE PIGMAN is a wonderful novel and a great "must-read"
Rating: Summary: the pigman Review: I hated this book a lot. I couldnt even fall asleep reading this book it was so boring. I wouldnt recammend this book to anyone because it ...!big time!Ya can say all that you want how Mr.Pignati died and it was sad, well ladies and gentlemen I laughed when he died. I also think that John was very irresponsible becasue he had a party without perrmission and he took the money from the pigman and I think that, that proves that he is so irresponsible that he couldnt get a job and make his own money. Oh and Lorriane she was so bossy! She would try to tell other people what to do, most of the time they would just ignore her though. Well one other way john was so dumb is he would drink underage and right then when he drinks hes throwing his life away. I think that he should get out of the habit. I only read thid book because it was for an english class and I had to read it. Itold my teacher that ill never read the 2nd and the 3rd book because they couldnt possibly be any better. Well i gotta go. bye
Rating: Summary: pigman rating Review: I think this book was very confusing and it is a very real life story. I think it just told us things we had already known. If this story went on to something that people would never have guessed to happened, than I think I would have liked this book much better!
Rating: Summary: The Pigman Review: I didnt like this book, because it was just like real life. It was boring because most of the stuff that happened I already knew about and it didnt realy interest me. I think that if this book would have gone into some thing more drastic, that no one would have ever thought of the I would have liked it better.
Rating: Summary: Merilee's Review Review: This book effectivly illustrates our fragile humanity. It also demonstrates the importance of allowing people freedom. Although Lorraine and John take advantage Mr. Pignati in excercising their freedom, it reminds me of an older woman I knew whose overbearing husband died. She became positively radiant with joy as she rediscovered her life and herself. How horrible it would be to know that you were suffocating someone that way, and that you were stopping them from "living." Lorraine and John take advantage, but also allow Mr. Pagnati to come alive. It makes me want to put on a pair of skates and race through the livingroom. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: The Pigman Review: I gave this book The Pigman by Paul Zindel 5 stars because I liked the way it was written and it was a very emotional book with many twists and turns. The story stars two high school sophmores, Lorraine and John, who are writing the book together. Lorraine is a girl(of course)who paranoid, her mother is extremely mean to her also. John is a boy(of course) who lies quite a bit and his mother is a germaphoe. This story takes place in 1960's New York, Staten Island. Lorraine and John plsy s phone game and end up meeting Angelo Pignati whom they have nicknamed the Pigman because he likes to collect fake pigs. Mr. Pignati has a heart attck and goes to the hospital, while he is gone Lorraine and John have a beer party in his house. Then Mr.Pignati gets there, he gets really sad and the police take Lorraine and John home. They call Mr.Pignati to meet at the Zoo but when they find out Bobo( Mr. Pignati's best friend who is a baboon) is dead Mr.pignati dies right there. I recomend this book to anyone who likes to read and i say read the sequel too.
