Summary: The Pigman is a good book for young and old
Review: "The Pigman" by Paul Zindel is a very good book. It's not like every youth books. The story is told by two narrators: John and Lorraine. At the beginning it is very difficult to read, but later it's very funny, but the contents is serious.
In the novel are three main characters: John, Lorraine and Mr. Pignati (The Pigman), who are later good friends. It is shown the relationship between young and old.

Summary: The Pigman :(
Review: I personally hated this book. It had a cheesy plot, and was very boring. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, and if you are a teacher don't use this book for novel studies.

Summary: The scare dare
Review: Have you ever heard of a man that's in love with pigs? Well the book I'm reading should grab your eye in the blink of an eye. The book the "Pig man" has it all. A girl named Lorain always wondered about a man that lived on the top of a hill, and the only time he would ever come out is at night, so that way no one could ever see what he looked like. So one day Lorain and her friend Lucie went up to see just what he does when no one is around. Lucky them he wasn't home they wondered why. They closed the door so he wouldn't know that they were in the house. Has they took the first step they, they ... gasp I'm all out of breath. Will the two best friends come out alive or will they be pig soup? You'll just have to read the book.
The book relates to things that happen in the real world .The book shows excitement and thrill rides. The book has friends that care for one another. The book should keep you on the edge of your seat begging to keep reading. The shows how friends stick up for one another if one needs help they don't just sit there and let him or her cry they help, and try to pick one another up when he or she is falling. If one gets in trouble another may take the heat for him or her but in the end they still stay together as best friends or at least friends

Summary: The Pigman is not that great!
Review: When I read The Pigman, I was not that impressed. I had higher expectations for this book. The book was well written but the story was to unrealistic. The things that happen just dont really happen in reality. It gives you a false image of how kids life really is.

The book is about two high school students, John and Lorraine, writting a story on what happened to them. They were doing their daily prank calls and Lorraine calls this man and John talks him into giving money to a fake charity. They go to get the money and end up becoming good friends and visit him eveyday. He gets his name the Pigman because he collects pigs. One day they decide to roller skate around the house when the Pigman has a heart attack. He lives and John and Lorraine visit him in the hospital when he tells them they could go to the house anytime and gives them the key. This is when it all goes wrong.

You could read this to find out what happened, but I don't recommend it.

Summary: The Pigman
Review: I enjoyed this book, mainly because it was easy to read and easier to understand. Also because it was not drawn out like some stories, it was fast pace so you don't have to get sidetracked. What I liked most about the book was the difference in the characters, but brought together by common goals. For example Lorraine is shy, self-conscious, likes to write and analyze the situation before acting on it. John is good looking and knows he his, seizes the moment, lie's frequently and want to be an actor. Mr. Zindel did a wonderful job in bringing these two characters together. Mr. Pignati is the last major character, he is a very lonely old man. His wife died so he made friends with a baboon, named Boo Boo, this shows how desperate he was. John and Lorraine meet him through a joke. They take advantage of him at first and well that's when the story gets really good. I would recommend this to anyone that went through or is going through there teenage years.

Summary: Richard's view of The Pigman
Review: The Pigman is a good book for anyone. It is very easy to read with simple vocabulary, and an interesting plot. Mr. Zindel did not focus on a single incident for to long, he jumped to a new seen to keep you interested. That makes it easier to follow. The style he wrote the book in was fantastic, he had it coming from two different perspectives. That made it a fun book to read. Another thing I liked about the book is all the variety of characters. He has a very confident good-looking male, a very self-conscience female and a lonely old man. I would recommend this book to anyone, it is good for beginners to understand and fun for everyone else.

Summary: A very good contemporary classic
Review: Paul Zindel's The Pigman is one of the best contemporary classics I have read in years. Zindel is able to develop the main characters, John and Lorraine, extremely well. The plights of growing up are clearly defined as John and Lorraine struggle to understand what friendship is all about until it's too late.

The plot line is not all that great, however, Zindel should be able to grab readers for years to come through his characters and theme.

Summary: Withstanding the test of time...
Review: Though written over 30 years ago, The Pigman is a book that has proven it can withstand the test of time. John Conlan and Lorraine Jensen are pranksters who both come from dysfunctional families. Lorraine's mother is a single parent who is afraid to death of men and thinks all that is on their mind is sex. John Conlan's dad is an alcoholic stock trader who wants his son to follow the family profession rather than developing an increasing fondness for beer. Through accident, or perhaps through destiny they meet the Pigman.

In the Pigman, they finally find out what it means to be carefree, and to have fun like a child. Through their relationship with the Pigman, Lorraine and John's perspective of their lives is forever changed.

Summary: A Simple and Light Masterpiece!
Review: This story is used in our English class in the freshman year and I'm not even finsihed at this point. The story is well-crafted and the characters and settings are not too many but just right. It's easy to figure out who did this or that but it touches you so much and it makes you rememeber about past events that are similar. The book is short and cheap but it is a frontman in a small library you might have at home.
