Review: Ender's game is a book about the invasion of allien forces to earth it is a book that describes the adventures of Ender the child who saves the world from these allien forces. This is one of the best if not the best book I have ever read. It has emotions and actions combined together in a great way. I suggest any one who want to read a great book and have a great time to read "Ender's game".
Rating: Summary: Ender's Game Quartet Review: This is a series of the best books is by far the best I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Even after finishing the novels in this four book series I find myself wishing it would continue into a fifth and sixth. If anyone was ever worthy of the Huge/Nebula awards it would be Orson Scott Card.
Rating: Summary: Excellant Reading Review: I picked this book up off the shelf about a year ago, and it sat on my desk for a few months before I got around to it. When I finally read it, I was mad at myself for not having dropped the other book I had been reading and read Ender's Game. It was awesome. It really makes you think. Also, I would have to agree with most people when they say that Speaker for the Dead and Xenocide are rather boring. But the fourth book, Children of the Mind, was, albeit farfetched, but pretty good. (After all, isn't sci-fi 'supposed' to be farfetched?)_Also, I took about 30 minutes to skim the other 700 reviews prior to writing this one, and I'd like to say something about some of those reviews. I can understand a lot of those middle schoolers not liking Ender's Game when they are forced to read it. That's understandable. But what I do not understand is why several people have ditched this book on relatively no basis at all. In their comments, their primary explanation for not liking this book was because it was written by a MORMON!! Geez! That's got to be the crappiest excuse on the planet. "Hey guys, don't read that book cause it was written by a Catholic!! And we don't agree with their ideas and beliefs!!" Do you see my point? There is obviously some falacy going on here. It's like saying: "Bob it tall. Bob is dumb. All tall people are dumb." Several other reviewers have warned us to "Watch out for the Mormon subtext!" and "You've got to look veeeerry close to see it!" It sounds like sombody's 'really' paranoid. I would also like to point out the fact that none of these reviewers found it convenient to also post their name, city, state, email address, or any other information for future communication with anyone whom should by chance come across their reviews. Finally, some of the reviewers stated that Mormons would not like Ender's Game. I have many Mormon friends, and I have let them all borrow Ender's Game, they have all read it, and they thought that it was great. None of us noticed any of this "Mormon subtext" or any "propaganda ploys". What WE saw was a fantastic novel that really made you think about "what it.." and also left you wishing that you could have been Ender in the book. I hope I didn't bore anyone too much, and I realize that this is not a news group or anything of the sort, but I felt the topic needed addressing. If anyone would like to attack me or anything, I, unlike numerous aforementioned people, am posting my name and email address. Seeya'll
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Plot and Amazing Characters! Review: I am only 11; I read this book the first time when I was nine or 10, and then read it again just a few weeks ago. I love the character Ender, and while Speaker for the Dead was good, Ender's Game will always be one of my most favorite books. I love the battle school, and the games; it makes me realize that yes, things _can_ be done better way! I think the character Ender is and extrordianary person for his age. I have recommended this book to every I know!
Rating: Summary: I would put 6 or 7 stars if i could Review: I've now read this book 11 times, and it only gets better each time. The first time i read this book i was about 12 years old. I was always little and picked on,and was suffering from depression. Lucky for me my sister bought me the book and told me to read it. I did (I finished it about 4:30 that morning). It changed the way i thought. I helped me get over my problems. It changed the way i thought. I recomend this book, to every one. i did not read much before i read this book, now i don't stop. this is a must read for non-sci-fi and science fiction readers alike.
Rating: Summary: Best book ever Review: This is my all-time favorite sci-fi novel. Card captures humanity extraordinarily well. A must buy!!
Rating: Summary: Ender's Game was a great book! Review: Ender's Game is a powerful book. The author must have put a lot of thought into it. Orson Scott Card cleverly discribes all the struggles and hardships that Ender went through in battle school. I would recommend this book to everyone of all ages.
Rating: Summary: This book changed my life Review: I cant explain it any better than that, at the time in my life when I first read this I was near suicidal, it was Ender's Game and Star Wars that saved me, I really believe that. There are some very powerful universal truthsi n this book that I dont believe anyone should go without. Even if you dont like sci-fi, this is a must-read!
Rating: Summary: Very well written Review: I thought that this book was good. It was sad that Ender didn't get to experience a very fun childhood. He was picked on by his fellow battle school peers. At home Peter, his brother also abused him. The only person in his life that really loved him was his sister,Valentine. Valentine was like a mother to Ender. The trama in Ender's life kept me reading, more and more. It was a well written book and I can't wait to read, " Speaker for The Dead."
Rating: Summary: A book that takes you farther than you'd ever expect Review: I never thought that picking up a science fiction book (this was my first) would open my life to a classical education! I read the Trilogy. Then I went on to read the real Demosthenese, then the Campaigns of Alexandar by Arrian, then Heroditus... Card has given his characters lives that fit in with our own ancient mythology. A fine sequal to the ancients!
