It is inhabited with mice, moles, otters, hedgehogs, and squrrels. and the occasional hare known for there appitites.Martha Brebuck is bound for life to her chair with wheels. Suddenly Bargoon and Sarobando, two troublemakers from the past, show up after Martin the warrior, one of the founders of the abbey, visits Martha in a dream with sister Amyl, a mouse that had the same problem as Martha. There is one problem. She is from the ancient abbey of Loamhedge. She gives her a riddle which Barrgon and Saro take on a quest to find Loamhedge and cure Martha. I give this book five stars. Rating: Summary: Excellent Tale of True Friendship Review: This book is amazingly wrtitten by Jacques. The ending is the most surprising, and I think this book is very moving. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Worst Redwall Yet.... If There Is Such A Thing Review: This book is by far the worst Redwall book ever written. Unlike Mattimeo or The Pearls of Lutra, it lacked action or excitement. It seems that as Jacques writes more books, the worse they get. Triss, book 15, also was awful. I personally think Jacques should stop the series, even though they are excellent books. Loamhedge was boring, and so was Triss, so I hope he does not put out another book. I am sure lots of die hard fans think the same.
Rating: Summary: it rocks!!!!!!!!!! Review: this book is the latest thrilling tale of redwall. it is about a quest to the ancient abbey of loamhedge to enable a young hare maid named Martha to walk. this book has humour action.... EVERYTHING!!!i just cant say enough about it. u should really get it.
Rating: Summary: Another Gem from Brian Jaques Review: This book is wonderful. The 16th book in Brian Jaque's "Redwall" series, two no-longer-young ruffians set off on a quest to find the secret of a mouse named Sister Amyl, of Loamhedge. Both experienced in the ways of living rough, their skills are put to the test as three young pals chase after them with hopes to aid the young haremaid Martha, unable to walk since arriving at Redwall with her brother Horty. Martha soon has her own problems though, because a threatening shadow looms over her beloved Abbey. Could the threat of a vermin crew come to Redwall? Will Martha ever be able to walk?
A wonderful story with characters so real you get to know their habits. Brian Jaques has the uncanny knack of transforming a fictional character into someone you feel is standing right beside you. Recommended for everyone over 10 years, as there are battles and gory details in these stories.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Books I've Read Review: This book talks about a journey to get to a old abbey named Loamhedge. it was over come by a plague in its last few years. There was a sister there who coouldnt walk so she was going to b e left behind. At the end a miracle happened and she was able to walk again. now a group of travelers from Redwall are off to find her secret. There is another story happening at the same time. a great badger goes to redwall which is under seige. Well the rest is all yours. Loamhedge is a book from the Redwall series and i think it is one of the best books i have read. In the past I've read alot of good books, but not many can compare to this one. I was sucked into the book I felt as if I was in the story with them. In one part of the story it said, "Blowfly, wot are we goin' t'do wid this cook - flog'im to a jelly wid yore rope's end or gut 'im wid this 'ook?" There were many quotes such as that one and those really gross me out. then there are the songs. they are nice and peaceful or really funny. Sometimes they would make you hungry especially when a hare sings it. Here is an example ofa song sung by a hare, well it's just part of one. "... To pasties an' pies of convenient size, it'd beat a tatoo on me drum, so jolly forceful, each tasty morsel, tramp over me gums to me tum! ..." -_____-x My favorite part of this book is when they all get back to redwall safely except for Saro and Bargoon. It is very sad but everyone in the abbey were giving there respects. Oh, and the Redwall is being resumed to its old self again. It has such a beautiful ending. *sigh
Rating: Summary: Loamhedge Review: This book, another mastepiece by Brian Jacques, is a tremendous addition to the Redwall series. Without a doubt it may be considered in the ranks of Redwall and Outcast of Redwall.
Rating: Summary: like all of his other books Review: This is a great book, one of my favorites. More evil vermin, huge badger lords, and a hadicapped hare are all part of the cast. Words CAN't describe this book. MUST READ Recomended: Castaways of the Flying Dutchman and Inkheart
Rating: Summary: a very good entry in the series Review: this is one of the best of the redwall series. of late, the quality of the books has been less than mediocre. this book doesn't drag or lack plot. in fact, it could easily have been expanded and still maintained reader interest. i would definitely recommend it.
