Summary: Almost a 5
Review: I was really hoping when I had heard that this book was called "Loamhedge" that it was more about the long-lost abbey. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed that it was merely about a journey to the ruins and not a story about it. I had been hoping for some more history of the beginnings of Redwall. Still, the book, like all of Jacques works, is filled with adventure and intrigue, happiness and sadness, danger and more. I proudly add this book to my collection!

Summary: Above and beyond 5 stars!!!
Review: I'm a huge fan of the Redwall series (hey, I can brag that I've read every book in the series). This book is one of Jacques' best. It has plenty of action and adventure for those who seem to not ever get enough of it, and...well...It just ROCKS! If you want details, look at the other reviews. I don't like giving away things inside the book.

Summary: The Best Redwall Book Ever!
Review: I've read every Redwall book ever written, and I own almost all of them. And this is by FAR the best book Brian Jacques has written! It starts out with a young hare named Martha Braebuck, who has been wheel chair bound since infancy. Then one night she receives a dream from Martin the Warrior! Martin tells her to look for two creatures returning to the abbey after years of adventuring. When they show up, they set out questing to find the lost abbey of Loamhedge, where the cure to Martha's sickness can be found!
While our heroes are on their trip, Raga Bol and a crew of vermin lay siege to Redwall! Along with the help of the badger, Lonna Bowstripe, the good abbey creatures fight to take back their abbey!
This book is filled with songs, battles, riddles, new friends, and everything else Jacques is famous for! The BEST REDWALL BOOK YET!!!

Summary: Still amazing after all these years!
Review: It didn't even take me a whole day to read this, the sixteenth book in the Redwall series. BJ has managed to create a world that is entirely his own, yet he stil manages to keep the series alive and fresh with exciting new charectors and events.

Review: Loamheadge Philome Books, 2003, 424 pp., $23.94
Brian Jacques ISBN:0-399-23724

The genre of Loamheadge is fantasy. The plot of this book is to find something. The main characters in this book are: Lonna Bowstripe, Raga-bol, Martha, Fenna, Springald, Bragoon, Saro, & Horty. The problems these characters face are: taking over Redwall, finding the parchment with a cure on it, & finding Redwall.

My thoughts on this book were, it was a good adventure book, funny, & war-like at sometimes. This book has great details and good characters. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure books. The themes of this book are adventure and war.

My question to the reader of this book is, "Did you have interest or like the main characters?" and, "Have you read any other books from the Redwall series?" The ending of this book is very good, I won't tell you the ending but it is pretty good.

Summary: Loamhedge
Review: Loamhedge is a really great book. Some people are saying that it's the worst out of all of the Redwall Books...NOT TRUE.
Sure, it's not the best, but you can't really say it's the worst. The plot is very different from all the others and is written in a different style. I couldn't believe that it was written by Brian Jacques, but nobody can imitate the accents he puts in (hurr aye). If you have any sense, you'll read this.

Summary: Lovely, Magnificent, and Endulging, as Usual
Review: Oh, that I could enter the world of Redwall! The battles, the feasts, the heroic excitement! But, anyway, I loved this book. You don't need me to give you a story synopsis because everyone else has pretty much done that already, but oh, how marvelous! I really ...loved it! The only thing I wasn't satisfied with was that it all kind of......revolved. That's the only way I can describe it. You know, like all the events kind of spinning around each other and never really touching. Like how they went all that way and it wasn't even helpful, yet it was helpful because if they hadn't left then she wouldn't have been at the window that night and.........well, sorry if I sound confusing, but I'm trying not to give anything away to those who haven't read it. Despite the "revolvingness," I simply adored it anyway. I command you to read this and all the other Redwall books as soon as possible!

Summary: Loamhedge Is Another Redwall Success
Review: The 16th novel in the "Redwall" series is a refreshing addition to the saga. Martha Braebuck is a young hare living at Redwall Abbey with her audacious brother Horty. Wheelchair-bound, Martha constantly reads, especially old texts about the ancient enigma of the lost abbey Loamhedge. Later, she is visited in a vision by Martin the Warrior and Sister Amyl, who was a crippled Loamhedge sister. Amyl speaks to Marth in rhyme and tells of two old warriors, returning to Redwall soon, who must travel to Loamhedge, where Amyl's cure can supposedly be found.
Later, Bragoon and Saro, two old warriors and best friends, return to Redwall, where they grew up. Immedietely, Martha recognizes that these are the two questors mentioned in her dream. After she approaches them, the two travelers agree to go to Loamhedge. However, three young Redwall "teens," Horty, Martha's brother, Fenna and Springald, are determined to go, too, and they will stop at nothing. The two seasoned wariiors set out, and the three inexperienced rebels follow. Will the five manage-and can the three young ones survive the ordeal?
While the warriors are away, two bands of vermin, one of them a villanous searat crew led by the tyrannical Raga Bol, come to Redwall. Raga Bol is trying to escape Lonna Bowstripe, whose "adopted" father was killed by the searats. Both clans of vermin see Redwall as a new potential home-loot, food and more! Raga Bol's crew easily overpowers the other band, led by the young fox Badredd, and begins to lay seige to Redwall. All of the abbey warriors are away, so what can the peace-loving abbey creatures do? Enter Lonna Bowstripe, still following Raga Bol. He is determined to avenge his father and wants to kill every searat. But can he save Redwall? And will the questors find Martha's cure-or will freedom come some other way?
This is an exceptional Redwall novel. Jacques gets off to a very slow start, but at the same time introduces new concepts and characters. This book is chock-full of fresh ideas, such as a handicapped main character, two questing warrors that are best friends, etc. New characters are introduced, too, such as the GUORAF shrews. Of course, all of the "Redwall" trademarks, such as mouth-watering feasts, exquisite details, humorous ballads and songs, strong main characters and evil villans are apparent. Jacques engages his readers, and has a created an innovative tale that stands out from the rest and may have sparked a new chapter in the "Redwall" saga. "Loamhedge" might not be the best "Redwall" tale, but it is sure to please readers, who will delight in its new concepts and creative plot.
