Summary: Extrenely Disapointed
Review: My sister read this book and loved it. So I decided to give it a try. I was very disapointed. Every one is saying it is a good book, but I just didn't get it. Inside the cover of the book it says that "Artemis thinks he's got them just where he wants them, but then they stop playing by the rules". They referes to the faires and frankly I thought they did not stop playing by the rules. I could never quiete figure out who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. I also did not feel a develpment in the characters. I gave this book 3 stars becouse even though I did not enjoy it, the ideas were good, just not expressed well.

Summary: Do not be fooled by the hype, Harry Potter this is not
Review: The hype surrounding this book suggests it is a kind of Harry Potter with fairies and it is really a grown-up book disguised as a kids book. I would disagree. This lacks the subtlety and complexity of Harry Potter and while the story is fast-paced it is truly childish.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Just as good at Harry Potter, funny and inventive.
Review: This is a clever story of LEPrecons, elves, fairies and a genius 12 year old crimminal bent on capturing their gold.

Summary: artemus fowl
Review: This is definately not loveable Harry Potter. He is the anti-Harry. Lots of weapons and resources including Butler. He is violent and crafty. May be a little too scary for younger readers. Parents may be offended by Artemus' arsennal which would make James Bond fans envious.

Summary: Much Hype-Nothing to Write Home About
Review: For some reason the publisher of this book is somehow attempting to connect it with Harry Potter. There is no connection. A not very interesting thief takes on magic realms that for some reason do not rely on magic but modern technology. That premise alone deflates any magical element of the story and merely gives us elf commandos with guns. Pass it by.

Summary: Artimus Fowl is awsome
Review: I love this book its one of my favorites it has plenty of twist in the story.I would put this right up there with Harry Potter which is also one of my favorite book series not to minchin the hobit book series.anyways the reason I gave this book only 4 stars was because the faries keep downing humans, but I would buy a sequil of Artimus Fowl

Summary: Get ready for a real adventure.....
Review: Artemis Fowl is a very nice book. While combining the realism of true devious crime, and the fantasy of fairies, trolls, and other such creatures, it is sure to keep you glued to the pages. I did find this book to be a little too easy to read, only because I read it in one night.

The reason for giving this book 4 stars instead of five, would be the ease in the reading, and the lack of dialogue for the setting. These setting is in Ireland, yet the people speak plain english, with no apparent accent.

Overall though, a wonderful book, i will be looking forward to future books from this author!

Summary: Great, but confusing at the begining...
Review: i thought that this book was really great, and i read a lot of books like this so i have a lot to compare it too. it is a great idea i don't see how people come up with such great ideas for books. i read in some of the other reviews that some people are copmaring Artemis Fowl to Harry Potter books, well i have read harry potter books (and loved them) but they are completly differant to Artemis Fowl. the only thing i want to know about this book is wheather there are other books in a series after it (or maybe before)? the only thing was that at the begining i found it too bea bit comfusing but when i got into it it was great and u just have to get used to all the differant, but clever, ideas. a great read and recomended to everyone.

Summary: HELLO! this is not harry
Review: I loved this book it is great. but i would like to tell the people who found it disapointing is becasue the book reveiw compaired it to harry potter. well i am here to say they ment magicly. you know as well as i do that no 2 books are the same so why did u buy the book expecting to read harry potter over again. You know very well that if it was like HP you would have said that the author copied JK Rowling and the book should not have been puplished! you would have also said that the author needs to have his own ideas, i am writting becasue he does. He wrote a great book and i am apalled that you would put it down becasue its not what you expected. take it for the book it is, in a shelf by itself.

Summary: a story inside a story
Review: This is a great book!! if you like to read i highly recomend this book for you. At the bottom of each page is another story! all you have to do is crack the code and there is your story! I love to read soo much and this book is one of the best books i have read. I also recomend "speak" and "the last book in the universe" they are really great books! give them a chance!
