Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: This is a very good book and you should read it. The only thing I don't like about it is the it gets very boring with the fairies and also you start to zoom off and not understan what happens. It has very hard words that even my sixteen year old sister didn't understand. Pretty Good
Rating: Summary: THE BEST BOOK Review: Artemis Fowl is the best book. I read it to my little brother and he absolutely loved to. This book is interesting because it has magic but not like any other book. It is very detalied with what is going on. Artemis is a genius whose mother is insane and his father is "dead" (yeah right). The really cool thing is that you can go onto www.artemisfowl.co.uk and decifer the code at the botom of the book. It takes a while but it is realy interesting. Eoin Colfer is a great author.
Rating: Summary: Not 'new Harry Potter', but who needs another Harry Potter?! Review: I've read multiple reviews which put down Artemis Fowl because it is not like Harry Potter... That's true. It's completly different, but every bit as exciting. Eoin Colfer has created a wonderfully exciting world below our own... He's a master storyteller, and narrates the story mastermind Artemis Fowl, who is, perhaps, little Harry Potter's opposite in personality, with page-turning alacrity.I enjoyed both books thoroughly and recommend them highly.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Book at This Moment in Time Review: Artemis Fowl is the most imaginative book I've read in a long time. That's why it's like Harry Potter, because it's so unique. If it had the same setting, or plot, it wouldn't be good anymore; it would be a Harry Potter knock off. Artemis Fowl is a brilliant character, and his sidekicks are often hysterical. Personlly, my favorite character was Foaly, because he was such a great mix of genius and weirdness. Everything in Artemis Fowl fits together perfectly and it is an amazing book for adults and kids both. No one should ever be embarrassed to take a book off the kids shelf!
Rating: Summary: It's interesting... Review: This is a pretty good book. It has an excellant plot and the way the author describes things is good. It has a lot of magical creatures that are fun to read about. The author's style of writing is nice. I gave it four stars because I didn't really felt that I got to know the characters (even though there names were really cool). I would recommend this to fantasy type people.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious and Pleasing Review: I would highly suggest reading this book to anyone. It all starts with Artemus Fowl, 12 year old genius, millionaire, and criminal mastermind. Because of his criminal background, he decides to make the first cross-species theft. The other species- fairies. These are not the bed-time fairies, they are a completely civilized world underground-with technologies much more advanced then the mud-men (as they call humans). Artemus then kidnaps Captian Holly Short of the LEPrecon force (police unit). When he kidnaps her, he has no idea what he has gotton himself into. With action-packed chapters, this story is a page turner till the very end.
Rating: Summary: Some books are eh.. but This book, Artemis Fowl, ROCKS!!! Review: ...CHARACTERS:PERFECT MIX OF SASSY,SARCASTIC, AND CRUEL. PLOT:HARRY POTTER CAN'T COMPETE IN THIS SOCIETY OF FICTIONAL FANTASY. SETTINGS:I'M IN AWE. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND THIS BOOK! ~a SMART student
Rating: Summary: Sci-fic mixture with fantasy = one excellent package! Review: For a second let's just forget about Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, because this book is not comparable with anything fantasty books. The language is easy (meant for age 9-12) and Eoin Colfer did a great job in ending the story. It is about a young masterminded criminal named Artemis Fowl. He goes on an adventure with his Butler from stealing the Book of the Faries in the Underworld (a fantasy world exist underground). However, an officier fairy goes by the name of Captain Holly Short, she becomes a problem to Artemis Fowl. After his capture of the captain, it brings a disaster to the Fowl Mansion. I won't spoil you anymore details, so just go get the book (well packaged!) and start reading it. It is cooler when you read it while commuting in the subway or undertunnel transit.
Rating: Summary: Not Harry Potter Review: This is a decent, quick read in my opinion, but don't expect to find a Harry Potter substitute in this book. It's completely different. It's not as detailed and mesmerizing as J.K. Rowling's writing, but it's entertaining. It has lots of technology and action in it. Your opinion on fairies, elves, etc. will be completely changed by this book.,Th most likable character, IMO, is Holly Short of LEPrecon(you'll find out what that is). The characters are pretty well developed, in personality and appearance, and the story is told in the point of veiw of several characters. Not high art, not really worth multiple readings, but if you want something different, try this book.
Rating: Summary: Deserves six stars! Review: This is probably the best book that i have ever read. It has humour, fairy gadgets and technology and a boy genius with a master plan all in one! This book kept me hanging on the edge of my seat till the very end, i strongly suggest that you get it!
