Rating: Summary: A little depressing, but still very enticing Review: This one at the end left me feeling a little bit on the edge. It was still very captivating like the other three, but now I seriously can't wait for the next one. But make sure you have read the other three first of course!
Rating: Summary: Addicting Review: The latest Gossip Girl is a novel that you can't put down. I read the entire thing in a little over a day. This is one roller coaster with lots of twists and turns; It's got sex, deceit, friendship, and love all rolled into one very exciting read. I would recommend this for any teenager. It's even better than a soap opera. I can't wait until the next one comes out.
Rating: Summary: Guilty Pleasure Review: I own all 4 of the GG books. I don't know why I just admitted that, because they're all incredibly shallow and stupid. It's my guilty pleasure; I only read it because I'm feeling ditzy or want to have some more of the brand-name dropping. Honestly, I read it for the type of scene they live in. No more, no less. It's because the author is REALLY BAD at writing. Anybody can churn out junk like this; all they need to do is drop the Louis Vuitton Alma purse and Juicy Couture Velour Sweatsuit in every other chapter and you've got GG. It's bad writing, bad humor, underdeveloped characters, etc. I could go on & on. For all you kids who think this is the best book you've ever read, please get out of your uneducated self and READ some REAL literature. I recommend a Confederacy of Dunces, or the Awakening.
Rating: Summary: All that Glittter, But No Gold Review: I wanted to love this book, I really did. Through the first three books of the "Gossip Girl" series, I have become a fan, reading whenever time permits. But I must say that this book was not only a dissapointment, but that I would return it if I have the chance. The plot followed, Blair, Serena, Aaron, Dan, Vanessa, Jenny, and Nate, as always. But unlike the previous books in the series, there is no plot, or important issues, just a lot of fluffy and disgusting mini-stories. Blair becomes even more witch like, Serena is confused as ever, ditto Jenny, Dan is out of his original character, but I wouldn't mind that so much, except for the tiny detail that devours this book - it has no plot . The book focues too much on sex and drugs, forgetting that good gossip isn't always about every little uninteresting detail. If you want a fluffy, unimportant teen book with no plot, this is for you. If you're looking for something a little deeper, I would reccomend shopping around. The most annoying aspect of the book? You don't even find out who GossipGirl is, as the book ends with a cheesy cliffhanger. Skip this one folks--it sure isn't worth it.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book Review: I read the whole series in a less than 6 days! Thats not weird for me because i love books, but everyone in my grade loves them! including myself! they are just fun books for girls to read. They are funny and you keep wanting to know more. Always very suspenseful. If you liked the Angus Thongs and Full Frontal snoggle books, you'll LOVE these. But remember, dont try to be Gossip Girl in real life, it could do some serious damage to your socail life.
Rating: Summary: Guilty pleasure Review: I'll start this off by saying- I love this series. However, if you're looking for a serious piece of fiction, I would back far, far away from this book. While this book does tackle serious issues- drug addiction, love, betrayal, getting accepted to college- it does so in a typical adolescent way. The main characters in this book are self absorbed, spoiled, and stereotypical upperclass teens living in NYC. But seriously, if you even are considering buying this book, then you're probably someone who enjoys reading about how these people spend money like there's no tomorrow, sleep around, do drugs 24/7, and somehow do enough schoolwork to even dream of getting into an Ivy leauge college. While the previous books were probably more statisfying, I thought that this book was decent overall. I skipped some chapters because I found some of the storylines dull, but the ending of this book still had the suspense that all of the others do. Buy it, read it once, then give it to a friend to read as well.
Rating: Summary: Because it's worth it Review: I gave this book four stars, because that's what it deserved. It kind of annoyed me, the way everyone became every MORE hoity-toity and snobbish, but it's addictive and one of those books you have to keep reading. I did like it, but it kind of felt like something was missing. Hopefully, the emptiness will be filled with the next book.
Rating: Summary: It was so-so Review: I've read the whole series in less than a year, but when i finished the 4th one, i mean i was wanting more, but like that was only because you are always wanting more with thses books! I mean whats happening to Serena and Aaron? Its seems like in every book she has a NEW guy and it gets old because each guy gets dumped and his heart broken! This book was OK, left me bored @ times. Jennifer was a little weird with Elisa! I mean, there was no need for that! My personal favorite book is the 3rd one! I loved it when they went to the islands and hung out and especially since Blair and Serena were friends! (...)
Rating: Summary: Ugh...Didn't like this one at all. Review: I love all the gossip girl books, and when I bought this I was expecting it to be just as good as all the others...unfortunately it's not. It made feel sick because what happened with Jenny and her friend. Sure, it's not that big of a deal but come on! UGH. And overall this book was NOT as interesting as the others ones. Hopefully the 5th will be good.
Rating: Summary: This book is Worth it Review: I love the Gossip Girl series and can't ait for the fifth to come out, i can agree with some of the other reveiwers when they say its not that realistic sometimes but other than that i love this book. I kinda thought that the whole Mystery and Dan thing was kinda stupid, i mean, who gets turned on by yellow nails and yellow front teeth? But whatever, the end of the book was mostly about sexual stuff, Nate and Georgie in the closet, Dan and Mystery, Jennifer and Elise, but eah i thought the Blair and Owen thing was kinda cool, I totally recomend this book to whoever is mature enough to not take some things too seriously, I can't wait until what happens at Gossip Girls party, i have a feeling is going to be craazy!
