Summary: Better than the 1st
Review: If I dare say so, I think this one is better than the first. I bought this book yesterday and read it straight until I was finished. And I'm a 21 year old senior in college! It is absolutely wonderful, touching, hilarious, sad, moving, and true. I loved the way Brashares developed each of the girls' realtionships with their mothers so carefully and delicately, as the relationship between a teenage girl and her mother is one of the most precious and difficult in life. I highly, highly recommend this book for an amazing read. Can't wait for the 3rd!!

Summary: Another GREAT book by Ann Brashares
Review: After reading the 1st book, (The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants)I knew the second book would be just as good. And I guessed well because it was awesome. Just the perfect book for teens, most everyone can relate. The stories were intriguing and I always wanted to know what happened next. Ann Brashares lays out the book in awesome form by switching between the characters every 2-4 pages so you are always left on somewhat of a cliffhanger. The story in which Lena stays home missing Kostos, Bridget travels to Alabama to visit her grandmother, Carmen experiences trouble with her mother and where Libby encounters her true instincts and feelings at a film camp are truly great. I defenitly would recommend this book to all teens and adults alike and I would give it higher scores than a 5 if I could. I would however recommend that people read the 1st book before this one but come to think of it, who hasn't read the 1st book yet? Pick up this book and read away a great adventure!

Summary: Second Summer=Full of Fun, Laughter, Tears + More!!
Review: After the first summer with Lena, Tibby, Bridget and Carmen a teen girl like myself can relate to one of these spunky characters. Myself being Greek, I related to Lena more with her problems such as communcation among family. Here's a hint for the author: GreEnglish is the word that I made up, which is a sentence with both Greek and Enlish (but with more English). Also, the vivid descriptions of Oia makes me reminisce about my own village on the island of Karpathos. And Kostos, oh, well there is a little bit of Kostos in every tall, dark and handsome Greek boy you can find. Reading both stories I had my "Kostos" in mind.

Aside from Lena and her little love soap-opera each girls story is what keeps the reader wanting more. Teen girls relate to these problems which is why I think Ann Brashares did a wonderful job tapping into a teen girls mind and knew exactly what emotions they were feeling. It was amazing! The reader feels as if they are best friends with these four girls and will make them never want to put the book down! I know it happend to me and when it came to the end...well, I guess you will just have to read it to find out...Great book, 5 stars definetly!! (P.S- I'm not sure if there is talk of a movie or not with the first book, but that would definetly be a great idea!)

Summary: Summertime Is Still Sweet....
Review: I'm a big reader of books of all kinds - teen fare that I can get away with reading, the oh so popular chick lit (a la Bridget Jones Diary), and of course classics and top sellers. So I've got a lot to compare Ann Brashares 2nd offering to - and overall I'd give it a 3.5 stars rather then 4 or 3.

The story itself picks up 10 months after the last one began - summer break yet again with the girls beginning their yearly tradition of breaking into the gym where their mothers had exercise class together and thus brought the four main characters together -

Lena - gorgeous but shy and serious, deals with lessons in love and heartbreak via Kostos (her Greek grandparents family friends son) in this novel...my only problem is that she doesn't really seem to change her attitude much from the last book until the very end, and even then she seems unaware that she is growing up.

Carmen - Rehashes the storyline of the last book in this one with a few plot points changed - basically plays a bratty daughter yet again. Carmen is probably my least fave character in terms of development both plot and characterwise - she never seems to learn anything (which perhaps is a character trait).

Tibby - Seems to have a much smaller role in this book, particularly towards the end, doens't really grow much but revisits the previous summer in an interesting way.

Bee - My fave character and in my opinion has the strongest and most interesting storyline - where she impulsively takes off to Alabama to visit her long lost grandmother and to discover more about her bi-polar mother who killed herself many years ago. Its interesting because Bee appears to be the only one who changed OVER the course of the year, and thus you get to watch her become something from those changes instead of just re-visiting last summers experiences and lessons.

All in all I enjoyed Brashares writing, I love the quotes she uses, and she makes you feel for each of the characters. The only thing I have to criticize her on is the lack of major growth the girls should have experienced during the school year, as the mistakes they made in this book were far too similar to the previous years. Personally the summer before grade 10 and the summer before grade 11 (or grade 11 and grade 12) were completely different times for me, and I think the girls really should've learnt something more then quadratic functions over the year. Another small criticism is that the girls are almost too functioned on their said plot points...Brashares could've created a more 3-dimensional world but granted a book can only show you so much. Finally I think she makes the girls a bit over-emotional at times to the point where it becomes unbelievable. However if you are into the ever popular continuity-necessary teen novel that dominates the market today, then pick this (and the first) book up for some fun summer reads.

Summary: The Second Summer...
Review: This book is amazing. Once I got it, I couldn't stop. I couldn't believe how well Ann Brashares related to the teen girls in the world now.

My favorite character is Bridget. Even though at first, I was dissapointed that she changed so drastically, with the fat and brown hair, eventually she comes back to being the audacious and athletic blondie.

My next favorite character is probably Lena. Even though she made some mistakes, like breaking up while she was still in love with him, she falls back in love. One thing I didn't like was that she changed. She was lovable in the first book and now she was insane because of Kostos in the sequel.

Then comes Carmen. I didn't really like her, because she never learns from her mistakes! She is selfish, immature, and self-centered. Even though she fixes up everything at the end, she wasn't one of my favorite characters.

Tibby is my least favorite. When she went to the college, she made that video on her mom that was very inappropriate and she was very shallow. She tried to "ignore" Brian, and she only stuck with the "cool" kids Alex and Maura. Later on, she makes it up. Another reason why I didn't like her was that she tried to ignore Bailey at first, and I loved Bailey. I was so upset when she died. But it was very nice of Tibby to make a video of her.

All in all, I really loved this book. I anticipate the movie and the third book. I'm sure both productions will be awesome.

Summary: the sisters are back
Review: It's been one year since Carmen, Tibby, Lena, and Bee discovered the magical Traveling Pants. They have been tuck ed away for a year, and now that it's summer, they can finally bring them back out. Carmen realizes that they will be the "love pants" this summer. She herself has a promising reationship with Porter from her school. However, when her mother Christiana begins dating, too, Carmen freaks out. She neglects her own life in her frantic attempts to keep Christina the same. And when her mother dares to borrow THE PANTS, Carmen goes over the edge. Tibby is traveling this summer. She is in a film program at a college. Still reeling from Bailey's death, Tibby deals with her anger and resentment towards her mother by creating a sadistic film starring Alice. Lena broke up with Kostos, but still loves him and misses him desperatly. When he shows up for a job in Washington, D.C, their whirlwind romance is rekindled. Kostos then does a 180, dumping her and going back to Greece, all the while telling her how much he loves her. When Lena's Bapi falls ill, her family travels to Greece. There she finds out Kostos' haunting secret, and one of her mother's, as well. Bee really messed herself up over Eric last summer, and it threw off her whole year. Hiding under hair dye, extra fat, and having quit soccer, Bridget takes off to Alabama to get to know her grandmother. When the Pants refuse to fit, Bridget is forced to re-evaluate her current life. The girls struggle and learn a lot as they deal with hard stuff, equipped with their faithful pants.

Summary: The Second Summer of the Sisterhood
Review: I thought the book was great. It showed how a group of teenage girls delt with the problems many other girls face, and solved them because of their friendship. The girls are varied in personality, but they still get along and are the best of friends. The setting in the story is varied. From Washington D.C., Greece, college campus and Alabama, the story was in a number of settings that takes place in the present. The book really kept my attention and I sped through it. I would recommend this book to any girl who wants to read a good book about friendship and the lessons of life they deal with.

Summary: THE SECOND SUMMER OF SISTERHOOD
Review: Another summer with the Sisterhood. Once again, Brashares has created a completely believable, fun plot, with just the right twists and lessons.

Lena: Pines for the handsome Kostos back in her hometown even after she's broken it off with him. Then, at a surprising moment, Lena does something she's never done before: plunges headfirst into heavy emotions.

Tibby: Goes to a summer filming camp where she meets Alex and Maura. While she attempts to push her memories of Bailey away, her friend Brian tries to show her that she should be confronting them face to face.

Carmen: Turns once again into an angry machine when her mom starts dating a guy from her office. When she finally realizes her mistake, she frantically patches up everyone's relationships but her own.

Bridget: Impulsively goes to Alabama to confront her past headfirst, and learns that to truly be free, you have to face everything.

Summary: Friends will always be there
Review: If you haven't read this book before, I STRONGLY suggest you pick it up, you REALLY WON'T be disapointed.

It's about 4 close friends-Carmen, Lena, Bridget, and Tibby- who magically can share a pair of jeans. Of course, there's much more to the story than this, like friendship, love, and learning lessons- all shared between these 4 special girls.

As I said before- this is a REALLY GREAT BOOK! You'll love it!!!
