Summary: Where can I find those pants?
Review: I love the premise of the book, I think that the plot gives the author license to take the story wherever she wants. Its great how each best friend has their own story within the story - I got a little confused sometimes, though.
I could relate to all of the girl's stories - Bridget really changed from the first one, and sometimes I wanted to hit Tibby for being so ignorant. But they are "human", right? It's a fantastic book and everyone should read it!

Summary: Better the second time around
Review: Lena, Carmen, Bridget (Bee), and Tibby are back, and I'm thrilled! I've read the first book several times, but The Second Summer of the Sisterhood was impossible to put down. As a teenager, I feel that this book connected with me in a way that no other book ever had. Ann Brashares, unlike other authors, has not forgotten her teenage years. I connected with Carmen because of her family problems, Tibby for not wanting to remember bad memories, Bee for her struggle to find herself again, and Lena for being afraid to do what she really wanted. This book is amazing, and if you haven't read it yet, you're missing out.

Summary: The Second Summer is even better!
Review: I loved the first sisterhood book, and had read it almost 5 times. It captures you and lets you relate to all the chacters. When I heard there was to be another book I couldn't wait to read it. The Second Summer is even better. There are amazing twist and turns, keeps you wondering to the very last page. More romance, more termoil and amazing girlfriends. A book to which we can all relate to. So what are you waiting for, read it!

Summary: Your New Best Friends!
Review: The novel The Second Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was more amazing than the first, which i first thought to be humanly impossible. When we were reintroduced to the main characters, Carmen, Lena, Bee and Tibby, I felt as if I had been on vacation from my best friends. All of the girls are totally real people, and they comfort you through they own personal tribulations. I found that I related the most to Carmen, while my best friend felt a real bond with Tibby. All of the gilrs are different, and through thier differences, they share a true and loyal bond, a "sisterhood". The novel taught me many lessons, and I have learned that all different people can be friends. I have recommended this novel as well as the first one to everybody that I know, regardless of friend or foe, and all have loved it and were waiting on line to buy the sequel. If I were you I wouldn't wait any longer. I can promise you that you will not be able to put it down!

Summary: Have you ever heard the saying, couldn't put it down?
Review: Well the book is the embodiment of that saying. Amazing. I read the first one, and it was good, but this one blows it out of the water! It was much deeper. You really felt how all the characters grew and changed for the better. A book that will really make you laugh, and definitly cry. Don't let another minute go by, buy this book!!!

Summary: The Second Summer
Review: I don't know what to say except wow. This sequel takes place the summer after the last book. All the girls except Tibby are supposed to stay home but that's before Bee finds out her father has been keeping a secret from her

So Bridget sets off to Alabama to see her Grandmother, to rediscover herself and deal with her mistakes. (I was a bit shocked at Bee's state of mind after a whole year gone by and I kinda wish Ann had gone into more detail about Bridget's feeling on last summer's incident)

Lena has broken up with Kostos but ends up second-guessing herself. What will happen when Kostos comes to America to visit? (I have to say I was thoroughly disgusted with Kostos and I hated the end of his and Lena's relationship)

Carmen has to deal with the fact that her mother is now dating again and this sets forth major jealous vibes on Carmen's part. (Carmen was a little biotch through the whole book. I couldn't believe the way she treated her mother and Porter. I have to say I was very disappointed in her.)

And Tibby is at a film camp and learns that she can't run from her past anymore rather she has to confront it. She also learns more about the person she wants to be.

We also see the return of old faces and the arrival of new ones. This book to me wasn't as good as the first. The ending left me a little depressed but all in all it was an excellent book. If you loved the first book, make sure you pick this one up.

Summary: What an Awesome Sequel!!
Review: Wow! This book does not disappoint! I thought there was no way that this book could be as good as the first one, but it was! Carmen starts her summer off with a boy she really likes, but she ends up ignoring him through most of the book because she's so upset that her mom is dating a man, David, seriously. Bridget sets off to Alabama to visit her Grandma, and find out about her past. While there, she finds out a lot of things, some that she wanted to know, some that she didn't want to know. While there she also meets her old best friend, Billy Kline. Tibby goes to a film program and meets Alex and Maura, and she ends up changing a lot in her ways to be friends with them. Brian also makes several trips to see her. Lena stays at home, and mopes about the fact that she broke up with Kostos and that he has a new girlfriend. Later in the book, Kostos ends up visiting Lena, and they spend some very romantic time together. However, Kostos leaves suddenly and soon breaks things off with Lena. When a family crisis comes up, Lena and her family go to Greece and Lena finds out some shocking information about Kostos. This was one of the only things I didn't like about this book. It was certainly a plot twist that I didn't expect, but it made me pretty upset. Other characters involved in this book are Krista, and Paul. Overall, this was a great book. It made me happy, sad, and at parts, mad. I definately think that fans of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants will be pleased with this sequel.

Summary: Spellbinding, Better Than the First!
Review: The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, the sequel to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, was an excellent novel and better than its predecessor. In this book, four best friends, Lena, Carmen, Tibby and Bridget are beginning the second summer with their magical pair of pants, or, the Traveling Pants. In this book, the girls' travels take them to Alabama to find Bee's family and regain her identity, to Greece with Lena at the end of the summer, to film school with Tibby and with Carmen trying to destroy her mother's love life.
The Second Summer of the Sisterhood was absolutely spellbinding and there was not one minute when I wanted to put the book down. This was possibly the only thing that got me through California state standardized testing! In this novel, the characters are more down to Earth, more like every day people would be, where in the first book, the characters were a little more surreal. This was an excellent book, and I reccomend to anyone!

Summary: Doesn't blow me away...
Review: "The Second Summer Of The Sisterhood" by Ann Brashares, is not nearly as good as it's predecessor. Once again, four friends are spending the summer away from each other, and learn valuable lessons about life. One would think that the plot would change just slightly from the first book.
Lena spends pretty much the whole summer missing Kostos, which makes her seem irritating, not to mention completely devoid of personality. Then, and this was REALLY surprising, Kostos comes to America out of the blue, where he visits Lena. Not much else happens to her, and this doesn't make for very interesting reading.
Tibby goes to a filmmaking camp at a college. Here, she meets two horrible "friends" and one who you wouldn't expect. Besides Tibby's making friends, you can't really say much happens to her, basically a portrait of your everyday teen angst.
Carmen's mom gets a boyfriend, and she repeatedly attempts to sabotage their relationship. Meanwhile, Krista comes to Bethesda, and unconciously teaches Carmen about what it means to be a role model.
Bridget, meanwhile, heads to Alabama to find out more about her mom, as well as see her grandmother. There, she masquerades as "Gilda", where she gets a job for her grandma, and meets old friends.
Overall, I think that Carmen and Bridget's stories were closest to actually having a plot, although I think that Brashares positively drenched all of their summers in unnecessary emotion. For instance... "Her old letters had been different. Frequent and agonizing. She'd written in pencil before pen. She held the paper up to her neck so it might absorb a little of her... Since she'd broken it off (she'd thought) she'd stop thinking about him and missing him so much... It hadn't quite worked out that way." Read this, and you've basically read the whole of Lena's segment. It seems like an utter waste of time to me, but everyone else can read this, and I'll go find something else more substantial.

Summary: 1...2....when will there be a third?
Review: The first summer came and went, was i the only one who wondered "hey! don't leave me like that! what happens next?!" (god i hope not.) After I read the second book, I felt like I did before. On the verge of everything but pathos. one word: AMAZING! again, the author has woven in mixtures of realism (im is goood to me) and unrealism (come on! would you run away to alabama?) but the fantasy was beleivable. Anyone who read the first book, or heck, even the first chapter of the second, will tell you that Bee could/would do anything. I lost sleep over trying to find out what happened to her mother. Carmen finally realizes her power over others. Over krista, friends, and the one person most dear to her: her mama. The only thing i did not like was Tibby's part. I'm afraid to say it, but...it was mediorcre. I could have told you what was to happen. And maybe she was trying to miss a statement...but...maybe i missed it along the way (grabs the book again) and Lena...Ohhhhhhh! beautiful lena!~ How I cried! How I laughed! How I gasped! (shakes finger at kostos) Perhaps even the goddess of beauty deserves a break...

If you haven't read this book, please don't use my probably/actually biased discription of the book...it's amazing and I was left speechless (okay, that's kinda impossible for me but...as close as i can get...). And again, I was left with a large urge to shop for a magical pair of my own...(^>^)

Raven~
