Rating: Summary: Stargirl Review: Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli, begins in a normal high school, where a normal boy named Leo lives a normal life. Until, that is, all the normal-ness is wiped away by somebody un-normal. Her name is Stargirl. From the time she arrived in the sleepy old town, all sorts of quirky and random acts of kindness are being seen. On Halloween, little pumpkin shaped cookies appeared on everyone's desk. When it is somebody's birthday, they can usually expect a ukelele serenade from Stargirl and her pet rat, Cinnamon. She even cheers for the other team, gives comfort and talks to random people who need a friend. "How could anyone ever like somone so wierd?" Leo thinks. He soon gets pulled into her spell and gets treated the way she does, an outcast. What choice will he make, Stargirl, or his reputation? Stargirl is a great book because it teaches people to appreciate all the variety in the world. It shows that no matter who you are, your friends are always there for you and just being yourself can mean a lot. When reading this book, Stargirl made me want to be like her and act completely strange... maybe even read the "fillers" in newspapers! Overall, I would strongly reccomend Stargirl to anyone who needs a bit of pick-me-up...or just a really great read. Don't miss out on this really great book!
Rating: Summary: Star Girl* Review: I just got finished reading "Stargirl". This book has taught me to be who you want to be and don't let what others think influence you to change. I really like this book. It has twists and turns and keeps you reading. I would recommend this book to everyone popular or non-popular. I will never forget this story.
Rating: Summary: Its iffy. Review: Well although I did enjoy reading the book stargirl I find that this book is way to "made-up" I don't believe people really act or do the things that StarGirl did. Not only would she never have made it in the real world doing the things she did. People would give her a hardtime through out the way. On the other hand I did enjoy reading the book. I thought she was a great character and this really made me think about the "clique's" in school and how people really did act like these people sometimes. I just didn't think it was very realistic.
Rating: Summary: What a doozee Review: Such a good book. Spinelli has written a masterpiece. This book is about a highschooler at Mica High named Leo. Leo has many friends and a pretty common life... until Stargirl starts attending Mica. This book is great because it is thought intriuging and creativley descriptive. If your looking for a is good book to curl up with on a rainy day, this is it. ...
Rating: Summary: Totally Worth While Review: I really think that this book was a great one. I totally disagree with the ending, but I don't base books on the ending. A book that sort of reminds me of this one is 'Pay It Forward'. Help strangers out that you don't know just for the heck of it. To be nice, to be kind, to be different. I'm into the uniquness that Stargirl is into, bascially that's why I bought plaid pants when no one else has them. Stargirl is a very, very cool individual and I love the fact that she doesn't give a care about anyone, expect the people that mean the world to her. Stargirl is someone that everyone can relate to, even if they don't know it. This book was a really cool book, one of the best I've actually read and I'm really glad my English teacher made us read it. :)
Rating: Summary: Cool Review: A brilliant book well written and bound to keep you hanging on every word. This book is full of real life issues while being imagintive.
Rating: Summary: Quick and insightful read Review: When one of my best friends, a 4th grade teacher passed this my way she was very excited about it. It can be tough to find decent books for these young~young adults. You can buy this book with confidence that lessons will be learned about being yourself, following the "crowd", judging and loving others, and missing the chance of a lifetime. That said you must know, the ending didn't satisfy my need to put the book down and I think I stared at the last page waiting for just one or two more paragraphs............they never came.
Rating: Summary: Stargirl Review: Reading this novel opened my heart to see the beauty of everyone's individuality. We are all different. What would the world be if we were all the same? I would recommend this book to everyone who likes poetry and tries to fit in. Today there is so much pressure to be like everyone else. It is people's uniqueness that brings beauty to life. Jerry Spinelli is very talented with his words. With this story my life was changed.

Rating: Summary: I want to be stargirl... Review: I chose this book because it had so many good reconmendations. Exspecially from my 7th grade teacher Miss. Sears. i think the way Jerry Spinellei writes the beginning of this book is amazing. The way he catches your attention. This book is also very funny. But at the same time it can also make you feel sad. I would say i want to be like Star Girl. But I cant because Im afraid of what people think aout me Star Girl doesnt care what anyone thinks about her. This book taught me an important thing to know in life. You should never care about what anyone thinks about you and you should always express yourself. That is why every one and most of all young kids should read the greatest book ever written - STAR GIRL!!!
