Summary: StarGirl is awesome!
Review: StarGirl is a really cool girl, and when you read it, you'll find out why. Basically it's a story about acceptance, and StarGirl's chance to become popular in school. All she has to do is change....but will she? Will she stay true to herself?

I think this is definetly a raed for all ages, and is a good "light read.." if you want to put it like that. I am not a big fan of Jerry Speneli, but this book was probably his best in my opinion. Only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because it lacked minor development...but other than that, this book is a must-read!

Summary: reformed stargirl
Review: this book is not one of those that you read to waste away time, or when you have nothing else to do. when you finish, you're filled with different ideas, with dreams in your head. i've learned to leave spare change, leave potted violets and cards every where, and one important thing: every act of kindness counts.

Summary: Stargirl Review
Review: Stargirl is a great book to take with you to the beach if you're looking for something quick and fun to read. Stargirl is a quirky character, but someone you would love to know. She gives her boring school a fun-loving, carefree atmosphere. Stargirl fights rejection and rudeness. Her average day consists of blank stares, snickering, whispering, and rude comments. Luckily, she soon finds friends and more-than-friends, and her life isn't as hard. From the first day of school, to the day she's followed home, to the night of the prom, this book made me laugh at all the funny parts and cry at all of the sad ones. I highly reccommend this book to all.

Summary: *~An "a little better than fairly reasonable" book!~*
Review: I was suprised to see that "Stargirl" was told by a boy and the way it started out I wasn't quite sure I like it. But it really was quite a good read.I felt like I could easily relate to the actions of the student body to the every day life at school that I experience. (Popularity and all) It wasn't the BEST book I have ever read but it is, however, close to the top of the list. You should read it because it is well worth your time.

Summary: star girl
Review: this book, star girl published in 2000 was written by jerry spinelli. When a new girl comes to school everyone is afraid of her, untill she started to cheer at the football games and sport events that no one ever went to. Everyone discribed her as elusive, today, tomorrow. When kevin and leo relize that she would be the perfect contestant for the show they want to find a way to get her on. This show was called the hot seat. the people in the audiance would ask ticklish questions, embarissing questions, noisy questions but not hurtful questions. They would ask questions like how ofter do you shower? is it true that you like------? and does it bother you that you are so short?
I thought this book was very intersting in trying to get the new girl "stargirl" to become part of the school. the different types of things that the people do in this book was amazing. in one part she sings happy birthday to one of the captions of the cheersquad. when she draws more fans to the sporting events because of her dancing and cheering ability she becomes a cheerleader as well.
the plot changes so much in this book from school to home to the hot seat show. this is definately a must read again book. this book relly teaches people how to treat other people when they have different clothes than you and act different than you.
When i got this book for my brithday i hid it in my closet. then when we ha to read a fantasy book i thought what the heak mabye i should read it. so i pulled it out and read it and now i am glad i did.

Summary: Authentic story for middle school/high school boys & girls
Review: I teach 8th English. I had heard that this book was good, but frankly, I had heard that about other so-called "young adult" books before and had been disappointed by the amount of vulgar scenes and sexual themes. This one is different. The story is told from a high school boy's point of view, which is refreshing. The book was a fast read for me, not only because of its length and easy readability, but also because of my fascination with Stargirl's character and the boy's reaction to her. It clearly addresses peer pressure, a topic that every teenager deals with on a daily basis. I live in a small rural town, and this book aptly describes the benefits and disadvantages of living in a goldfish bowl. I also love how the author deals with the idea of "acts of random kindness." This is a book that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to the pickiest of any parents for their middle school son or daughter.

Summary: The most original and unique book I've read since....
Review: Wow. This is the most original and unique book that I've read since 'There's a boy in the girls bathroom'. I was attracted to the cover of this book (it was pink and white) and I thought I'd find out what it was about. So when I found out it was about a girl who just doesn't fit in, I thought that it sounded like a good read, and it was.
The story is like no other, and the way it is written is so original I just have to read it more then once. A great read for any one from the age of 11 upwards. This is one of my favourite books ever, and if you're looking for a different and unique read, chose this!

Summary: Not all that great
Review: This book was yes certinaly somethjing out of the ordinary, but really more ordinary than i would have liked. It's theme has never been touchd apon, however its seen has. Usually whenm I read I look for a lovely escape from the everyday problems such as popularity, peer preasure, and gossip. Although this book is new and riviting, it was not for me.

Summary: I Absolutely Loved This Book!!!
Review: Stargirl is definitely someone that needs to show up in my school. She is totally amazing. Her individuality...it just inspired me. She never cared what anyone would think of her if she dressed one way or did something no one else had done. She is the type of person I would love to have as a friend.
The book tells about a high school in Mica, Arizona. All the kids act the same, where basically the same clothes, etc. Then Stargirl Caraway (real name Susan) shows up. She changes everything. She plays a ukelele, keeps a pet rat in her backpack, wears long skirts to school... and does things no one else had ever done before. The kids are amazed by her. She brings a wave of individuality to the the school, and gives all the kids a chance to realize who they really are.
Then Stargirl is asked to join the cheerleading squad. At the basketball and football games, she commits a huge sin in the high school sports world: she dares to cheer for the other team. She wanted to be everyone's cheerleader. The kids start hating her. They ignore her. Only one kid sticks by her. Leo Borlock continues speaking to her, and they begin to sort of "go out". He sees how she appreciates the little things in life, and gives to others. She feels other's pain more strongly than her own. Every day, she makes cards and gifts for people who are lonely or sick. Stargirl is truly amazing.
I think that Stargirl is a must read. She is truly an individual, exactly what I have tried to be my entire life. This book inspired me to always be who I really am, and not to change for anyone. In our teenage years, it is important to remember this, as many kids often find themselves going with the "in" crowd and forgetting who they really are. No one wants to stick out too much. Stargirl wasn't afraid of who she was. I cried at the end. It is just a touching book. Stargirl Caraway will amaze you, and you will be inspired to be just like her, or, as I should say,to be just like YOU!

Summary: I would give it more stars if I could...
Review: It's incredibile how Jerry Spinelli can put such a meaningful message into just a book. Stargirl deals with the ideas of acceptance in society and being your own person.

Stargirl does whatever she wants, unaware of her risk in 'popularity'. She has a power no one else I've ever known has; the power to be herself. Entirely and 100% herself. How she is viewed at school is not important to her. She is truly an individual.

I think this book is a must-read. It gives such an important message that everyone should hear...
