Summary: Not Really What I Expected.
Review: Based on what people who had read it told me, I had expected Stargirl to be a story about a new girl who has trouble fitting in and finds ways too fit in. It sort of was like that. But it was told in the first person by a boy named Leo. Stargirl was an interesting character, I mean, how many girls play a ukelele in the school cafeteria or decorate their school desk with a tablecloth and flowers? Not to mention she has a pet rat that comes to school with her. It kind of turned out to be a love story, not what expected at all. I really didn't like the book, but remember, this is my opinion only!

Summary: AHH what a BOOK !
Review: I can not even begin to explain how much I loved this book! It was moving, sad, and a book that has such an important message to teenagers. I began reading it, and I was immediately "drawn in" to the words, and ideas they story was giving out. I could picture every character, and almost feel the emotions myself from what I was reading. I sat down one night @ about 6:00, and didnt get off my bed until 1:00 am . I read that book from start to finish right there- something I had never done before ! It was so amazing. It is the best book ive ever read !

Summary: My first Spinelli novel, but not my last
Review: Leo Borlock, a junior at Mica Area High School, isn't in the "in" crowd. But he's not a geek, either. His life changes in a multitude of ways the day he meets Stargirl Caraway, a new student. She doesn't dress like anyone else at MAHS nor does she act like anyone else. She sings "Happy Birthday" to each student when it's their birthday. She leaves a token on every desk in her classes on holidays. And she leaves anonymous presents to random people in the town of Mica. In short, she's bizarre, at least to the students at MAHS. But that doesn't last...

Stargirl is an outstanding young adult novel about popularity and peer pressure. Not only is it a great read for teens, it's interesting to adults as well.

Summary: Good
Review: This was a great book. I really enjoyed reading it, and you really get wrapped up in the story. You really start to wonder, what would I be like if I didn't care what people thought, and I was similar to Stargirl. I was very disappointed at the end, though. If you are thinking about getting this book and are someone who hates endings that are not sweet and cute, then don't get this book! The book was great, and unless he is writing another book, then the ending wasn't great!

Summary: A Great Book
Review: Stargirl is a wonderful book. Especially for people who love books about friendship and they like not knowing what's going to happen next. Jerry Spinelli is a great author, and if you like any of his other books you will definitely like Stargirl. Stargirl is unpredictable, and she has a great personality. It is a great book and I think you will enjoy it.

Review: This book some may not understand, but I do. It is the best book I've ever read and i'm being serious! i think everyone should read this. I learned a big lesson from this book. Never ever to judge somebody and don't care what they think. Stargirl. The way they treated her the way she didn't care the way that somehow everyone liked her and then they hated her. The way LEo loved her. IT was all beautiful. This book teaches a good lesson to all, READ IT trust me!! :)

Summary: Wow...
Review: This is most definitely one of those books that everyone should read at least once in their life. Like it's heroine, it's really impossible to define, as it fits into no preformed box. It's happy, it's sad, it's strange and it's ordinary, it's depressing and yet it's uplifting too. It's short; I read it in maybe two hours, but I know it will stay with me for awhile.

Stargirl Caraway has been homeschooled up until now, when she enters Mica highschool for the first time. Her new classmates don't know what to make of her at first, she dances in the rain, wears long prairie dresses and no make-up, plays a ukalele, and sings happy birthday to complete strangers. They embrace her for her differences, and even begin to imatate her a bit, at first. Leo falls in love with her almost instantly, for everything that she is, and yet, when they begin to turn on her, he feels torn. Whose love does he need more? Their's or Stargirl's?

Like I said, this is an excellent book, one I'd recommend to anyone over the age of twelve or so.

Summary: Stargirl Shines
Review: I read this book in one sitting only because I could not put it down. Stargirl was a pure soul, an unjaded gift that few could appreciate no matter the age they were at.
Jerry Spinelli certainly knows the ups and downs of teenage insecurities and desires. Stargirl could follow her dreams because she did not let peers (pressure) measure her worth. Stargirl was not perfect. She was only in the 10th grade, so she did not understand SOME things. For instance, when she hangs around after a funeral, she does not understand why the woman (the daughter of the deceased) got anger and threw her out.
I would LOVE it if Jerry Spinelli would do a second story about Stargirl. Where did she go? How did she make out in life? Does she change as she matures? Or does she blossom in to an even more beautiful person than she already is? I loved Stargirl and I loved the boy Leo. He is the actual subject of the story. How many Leo's are out there? You know, the ones who let a Stargirl get away? Read this book! It is wonderful, ENCHANTED, and a real gift from the author! Thank you Jerry Spinelli!

Summary: Stargirl
Review: Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli is a wonderful book about a girl thats not so ordinary. She cheers for the other team when they score and she go's around everyday with a ukelele singing happy birthday. This boy named Leo becomes her boyfriend. Stargirl shows Leo many enchanted places and Leo learns alot everyday. Everybody excluded Stargirl, so now that Leo is with Stargirl he is also being excluded. At the ball during the summer Stargirl was slapped by Hillary Kimble who says Stargirl ruined the whole dance, because she led a dance line into the desert for hours and Hillary Kimble did not want to go. While Hillary closed her eyes expecting to get slapped back Stargirl gave her a little kiss on the cheek. After the ball Stargirl was never seen again.
