Review: I love this book. It many give it in a mans prespective but this prticular book is an everyone book. The girl shows you how she's been made fun of and made the biggest loser in school. But she doesn't let it bug her. Untill one night something horrorable and something wonderful happens that night.Read this book and you'll be glad you did.

Summary: A Great Book to Read
Review: I give this book 4 stars because it was a really good book, but it needed a few things that could have made it better. Stargirl is a book about a girl who moves into a new school, but doesn't fit in with anyone. She is the friendliest person you would ever meet yet no one liked her. I liked this book because it has a lot to do with teen life and how we are always trying to fit in with the "popular" people. I could kinda relate to the book which made it more interesting to read. It also made me feel like I was more into the book. I didn't like the ending of the book though. I think it could have been better. In a way the ending also had a connection of teen lifes, but I didn't like it. For the most part, Stargirl was a very exciting and interesting book.

Summary: Stargirl
Review: Stargirl is an interesting book about ever teen life. Stargirl is a girl who moves to Seneca High. Everyone clicks-except her. People hate her individuality. They just can't accept the different things about her. And influenced by a frined, she'd loose all identiy of herself to become popular.
I like this story because it's real with things that teens have to deal with like peer pressure. I also had a really good message: Don't be afraid of yourself. This book reallt exposes that. Sometimes, the book is confusing, like the whole desert scene, but other than that it is a really good book.

Summary: Stargirl will bring stars to your eyes!
Review: StarGirl Jerry Spinelli

This book will bring stars to your eyes! Stargirl is the new girl at school. No one wants to hang out with her. She is not the typical person you think you'll meet at the mall, at school, or the movies, ect. Stargirl makes it on the cheerleading squad, instead of sheering she plays with the foot ball players! The excitement of this book will bring many stars to your eyes!

Summary: I read this book to my Jr. High Students
Review: Stargirl is a great book to show individuality and how outsiders view others that aren't afraid to "do their own thing." I chose this book to read to my jr. high classes and they love it. They beg me not to stop as they can see themselves and other classmates in the characters. A "must read" book from Spinelli.

Summary: A good book!
Review: I had nothing to read, so my I borrowed from my girlfriend this book. I actually asked her if she could lend me something else, because I thought I would get bored and just throw it away. It was the complete opposite! As I got home, I started to read it and I just couldn't put it down. I'm 20 years old, and it may sound silly, but with the story is pretty universal, meaning that the situation can be applied to any age group or nationality. It is a fun story that portrays greatly the lost of innocence in teenagers. I want my daughter (whenever I have one) to be like StarGirl, a happy, innocent, self-confident girl. Read this book even if you're 30 years old, it will only take you around 2 hours, you won't regret it. Or if you have kids, buy it for them.

Summary: Lovable Stargirl
Review: Many many years ago, our house had a lot of Jerry Spinelli's books in it. Not only that, but some of them were autographed -- my children attended a school near where he lives and he visited their school several times. They were always entranced by him and by his books.

Lo and behold, walking through a store the other day, "Stargirl" called out to me. The cover was the hook and after reading the jacket copy, I decided that it was a book I had to have. I talked to my niece that night and she told me it was a very special book and she was glad that I and bought it!

So am I! What a totally delightful story of someone who is different...and not afraid to be that way. What a role model Stargirl can be for so many kids today. This book sends a really good message about being your own person and true to yourself....yet it does not gloss over the hurt that may result from being this kind of person.

I thought the characters in this story were finely wrought and the story itself spun out in an almost magical way. I also liked that the author wrote an unpredictable ending.

I would recommend this for young adults---of all ages!

Summary: A BAD BOOK
Review: Stargirl is the boring tale of Leo Borlock and and a weird thing named Stargirl. The story is not mysterious, just confusing. Though it seems like there's a new event every day, nothing new happens whether it be a contest or party, doesn't matter.Everywhere they go, the same thing : Stargirl pulling the same strange antics and Leo debating with himself whether or not to like Stargirl and get "shunned" by classmates or hate her. Thats the whole story and its wrapped up with a poor ending too. Unless you enjoy hearing about a ukelele-playing girl with a pet rat and a boy who thinks about the same thing all day in a book, then this book should definitely added to the "shun" list.

Summary: Even adults love this book!
Review: I have nothing but praise for this book. ... The book makes me wish I had the courage of Stargirl. It sends such a strong message to kids now-that yeah, it hurts sometimes to be different, but in the end, you are a better person for sticking to what you believe in. I strongly encourage my students to be different and to stay true to themselves, and teenagers need encouragement in that direction. Stargirl, I feel, will give kids and adults the reinforcement that it is good to be different.
