Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Summary: not just a teen's book
Review: I admit it, when my 14 year old sister gave me this book for Christmas, I was doubtful about the literary value of a teen book. I began to read it, like a good sister, and I realized that I had really begun to care for the characters. This book has realistic characters, whose strength comes from their undying friendship, yet each girl is an individual and is allowed to shine. I not only enjoyed this book, but also stayed up until 4am to finish the sequel. I am also hoping that the author will continue the series, as I am dying to know what happens. Each book has closure, yet leaves room for more. They don't leave you hanging, but they give the characters somewhere to go. Ms. Brashares, if you ever read online reviews by random people who enjoy your books, please continue writing. While most of the books that my friends read are about sex, the undead (don't ask, you don't want to know), and pop idols, this book offers an alternative without being prudish or self righteous. It offers the reader a window into the world of these four exceptional young women: Bridget, Carmen, Lena, and Tibby. Even if you think this review is stupid, please give the book a chance.

Summary: A book to really travel with!
Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a great book about friendship. It proves that you can have life long friends even before you are born. .... There is lots of humor but also it is touching at the same time. You really get to know these girls and suddenly you feel like you are just "part of the gang". This book will become a girl's new best friend.

Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Review: This book, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, is definatly worth the time to sit down and read. This book tells the story of four friends who split up for the first time over the summer. Tibby, Carmen, Bridget, and Lena all go their own ways, and send one pair of jeans around the world to eachother that fits them all perfectly. Each girl has a great journey, and Ann Brashares (the author) does such a great job with the structure. She writes each chapter as one girls trip, ending the chapter, with you wanting to read more, and find out what is going to happen. If you enjoy reading about love, adventure, trouble, and taking chances, this book is for you!

Summary: You've Gotta Read This- Cristina T. -Miller Place
Review: Title: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Author: Ann Brashares
Genre: Fiction

In this novel, Bridget, Carmen, Tibby, and Lena are all very good friends. Their mothers used to be good friends because they all went to the same play groups and hung out. As time went on, their mothers started to grow apart, but the four of them still stayed best friends. They always did things together and always spent their summers together. Yet, this year they would all be in different places for the summer.

The whole story begins when Carmen buys a pair of pants at a thrift store. When all of her friends are over, Lena spots the pants and wants them. Soon enough, all of the girls try on the pants and they fit perfect on all of them. They realize that these are magical pants. The girls decide to send the pants in the mail to each other over the summer. The pants travel with Lena in Greece, to Tibby in Washington D.C, to Bridget in Mexico, and lastly to Carmen in North Carolina. The pants helped the girls through their rough times and gave them their courage. The pants help them stay close to eat other and maintain their sisterhood.

The book reminds you on how important friends really are. It is entertaining yet suspenseful. It is entertaining because it includes events that would happen in real life. Many people could relate to these events. The book is suspenseful because in some of the events, you are unsure of what will happen next. You always want to keep reading to see what will be the outcome.

I thought that this was a great book. It helps you remember your true friends and it's a great book to read for entertainment.

Summary: Awesome and Exhilarating !
Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is an awesome story. Ann Brashares, although in her thirties, definately knows what she's talking about. This novel could almost be true, because it seems to be what most girls are going through.

Summary: Excellent Read
Review: What and excellent story! Brashares has done an excellent job of creating unique characters. I promise you will not put this book down until the bitter end, and even then, you'll be begging for more. This book is geared towards a teenage audience, mostly girls, and yet I would recommend it to all ages. It's such a cute story that it will have you searching for your own pair of traveling pants. Before each chapter Brashares put aphorisms and quotes from various people, which made the story unique and you learned something along the way. The trust and friendship between these four girls, even when they're apart, makes you feel like you're a part of their adventures. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking about reading this that they should and you'll be glad that you did.

Summary: A Whole New Meaning Of Sisterhood
Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was a confusing book. There's four teenage girls Carmen, Bridget, Tibby, and Lena. The summer coming up will be their first summer away from each other. They all find one way to keep in touch though. This way isn't any normal way they're not writing mail, or talking on the phone. They keep in touch by a pair of jeans which they call the traveling pants. They write where they were on the right pant leg, and their favorite thing that happened to them on the left pant leg. They made rules of what not to do while wearing the pants. If this book sounds like a book you would enjoy then read it.

Review: Four best friends, a magical pair of pants and a summer apart. This was all Ann Brashares needed to write a great, interesting story. It all starts when Carmen walks into a thrift shop. She looks around knowing she won't find anything when her eyes land on an old pair of jeans. She thinks, "What the heck," and buys them for $3.99. She brings the pants home and washes them and throws them on the floor thinking she will never wear them. That night, her three best friends, Lena, Bridget and Tibby gathered at her house for a get-together before they go there separate ways for the summer. They are all moping around Carmen's room when Tibby's eyes land on the pants. Her face lit up and she asked if she could try them on.

They fit Tibby amazingly. Soon enough everyone else tries them on, all reluctantly, thinking they won't fit, but completely magically, they do. Somehow, a pair of $3.99 thrift store jeans fit all four friends, all who have different builds and sizes.

The friends decide that over the summer, as a way of keeping in touch, they will send them via mail to each other. They start in Greece with Lena, then Tibby in Washington DC, then go to Bridget in Mexico, and last Carmen in North Carolina.

This book was one of the best I've read in a long time. It had the perfect blend of romance, friendship, disappointment and magic. You can see Lena fall in love with Kostos, a kind Greek boy, Tibby help a girl named Bailey deal with leukemia, Bridget play soccer and catch the eye of Eric, the handsome 22-year old coach, and Carmen deal with her divorced parents. Even if you think this book sounds silly, I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy it. The only way to do that is to read it!
