Rating: Summary: Interesting Book, It Could Use Some Work, Though... Review: First off I want to say that I DID enjoy reading this book very much. It offers a lot of "solutions" to teenage problems (relationships, death of a friend, family etc) and at times was very interesting. So why the three stars? Well, the book follows the lives of four friends (Tibby, Bridget, Carmen and Lena) as they travel the world on summer vacations- sort of. The plot is well on the lame side, if you can't tell from the title. The "magic" of the pants is that they fit all four girls-wow! Can you imagine THAT? (I wonder how many people in the world are size 5?) The plot is hard to follow at times, the switch between characters isn't smooth, and at times it's so boring it's hard to continue. So why the hype? Let's face it, compared to a Grisham novel, this has nothing. Compared to J.R. Lankford's "The Crowning Circle," it's even less. This book is overhyped and the author is overrated. While Louise Rennison and Meg cabot know how to write a book that will appeal to teenage girls, Ann could use a little help. Better luck next time.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This book,"The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" was a wonderful, magical coming of age story about four best friends, Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bridget. They've never spent a summer apart, but this summer they are. Lena, the beauty who doesn't believe in love, is off to Greece to spend the summer with her grandparents and sister. Carmen, the tall Puerto Rican with the "big butt" who loves her father, is off to spend the summer with her father, Al, since she lives with her mother the rest of the year. Tibby, the rebellious short one, is staying home for the summer, stuck working the boring store of Wallman's and making a suckumentary (as in documentary). Bridget, the hyper, silly one who is looking for love, is going to soccor camp. They are miserable about leaving each other when they discover a pair of pants that fits all of them, dispite their difference in builds. They decide to send the pants after each of them have it for week, to the next best friend. For exapmle, Lena had it first, and then she sent it to Tibby, who sent it to Bridget, who sent it to Carmen, and then backwards. I loved this book, except for that the girls each seemed to whine about their vacations. Carmen's whining I can understand, but Tibby was always going on about staying at home (what's wrong with home?) and Lena about going to Greece. (!) Otherwise, this book is a peice of magic, and I strongly reccomend it.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book. Review: This book is a great book for teenage girls. This book is about tough Carmen, Tibby the realist, Bridget the jock and Lena the Beauty. It`s their first summer apart. Carmen is going to South Carolina, Bridget is going to Soccer camp, Lena is going to Greece and Tibby is staying in her hometown working at Wallman`s. Then Carmen discovers the pants. They each try them on and they flatter each girl`s build. They agree to trade them back and forth- Lena to Tibby to Bridget to Carmen and then vice versa. They and the pants experience a touching, emotional experience that they wont forget. This book is great and really makes you think about life. I promise you will read it over and over again.
Rating: Summary: Highly Recommended Reading Review: Anne Brashares, a first time novelist, tells the story of four friends, Tibby, Carmen, Lena and Bridget. The girls find a pair of jeans in a thrift shop that mysteriously fit each of them perfectly, despite the fact that each girl is physically different. When wearing the pants, the friends all feel perfect, more confident and beautiful. The girls decide to make a pact; because each girl will spend her summer vacation in a different place, they will split the jeans equally among the four. Over the summer the girls each face new issues and challenges. The pants become a symbol of their friendship, and the inner strength each finds in herself and her ability to overcome any obstacle. Their summer vacation starts as any other but the lessons Tibby, Carmen, Lena, and Bridget learn will last throughout their lifetime. This is a well-written modern story about the power of friendship and growth from experiences and is highly recommended for young teenage readers.

Rating: Summary: My November Book Report Book is one of the best!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: For my November Book Report, I did Ann Brashare's (a great author) first novel, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I highly recommend this book. It is about 4 BBs (best buds) and their first summer apart. Their names are Carmen, Lena, Bridget, and Tibby. Carmen is visiting her father in South Carolina, the first time she has been there since her parents' divorce. Lena and her sister go to visit their grandparents in Greece. Bridget goes to a soccer camp in Baja, California, (which is really part of Mexico) and falls in love with one of the coaches. (She's the sporty type) And Tibby, she is the one who is the most upset about not being with her friends because she has to stay home in Washington D.C., but ends up meeting a 12-year-old, and they become good friends. She soon finds out that Bailey, (the 12-year-old) has a certain kind of cancer, Luekimia. My favorite character is Bridget, first of all because it's exciting to read about the daring things she does, and second of all because soccer is one of my favorite sports. I hope you like my Review! See ya'
