Review: The characters in this amazing book reflect the personalities of everyday people, and that is what got me engaged in this book.
Lena is a beautiful girl, yet she is shy and thinks she is boring. Her time in Greece, in her grandparents' house was spent with family. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she realizes her love for a man on the other side of the world. Her interweaving through this other worldly culture is fascinating. The changes in these two different worlds are evident through the differences in values and priorities, such as family. This aspect of the book is about finding love where you least expect it, whether it's in a young boy or an old grandparent who is mostly mute.
Tibby is a girl who befriends a smart 12-year-old girl named Bailey. Bailey is a girl who has a gift speaking her mind, but also has a terrible illness. She has leukemia, however, that doesn't stop her from telling people how she feels and is not cowardly. She teaches Tibby many things such as being open-minded towards new opportunities and that she deserves better, she just has to work on finding better things. Because of Bailey, Tibby has learned so much, and is saddened with her death. Bailey is an enlightened character that makes us all think of the greater picture of life.
Carmen went to visit her father down in South Carolina. She needs to feel that sense of belonging. She learns not to judge someone by the first glance. Though this trip, she learns to truly love her dad and accept his new family.
Finally, we encounter the story of the athletic teen Bridgette. Bee, as she is called, is a vivacious youth who is not afraid to speak her mind and do things on impulses. However, once in a while actions that she has not thought out come and haunt her. She must face the consequences of her persuading actions towards a coach at the Soccer Camp and must hold out through acceptance or rejection.
The four main characters of this novel are uniquely different, however are interconnected though the wearing of the pants. These girls represent completely different aspects of a teenage girl, shy and beautiful, out going and spontaneous, thoughtful and needing of love and companionship. Within these characters, every girl can find pieces of her own personality. This is what is most appealing to the readers, and what gets them hooked. The author, Ann Brashares, does an amazing job of portraying these girls fully within their own characters, from their handwriting to the decisions they make as individuals.

Summary: The summer that Changed their life
Review: This was an aweomse book!I loved reading every bit of it. The "magical" pants that they shared together was as if it was meant to be. Those 4 friends shared a special bond and those pants were destined to be with them. And it was different because they found them the first summer they were going to spend apart. In those jeans, they each looked beautiful and looked as if the pants could only fit on them. They each experienced new and exciting things while wearing them as well, both good and bad.
Tibby went through a maturing process that we can all relate to. Baily(a little girl Tibby met by taking her to the hospital) really helped Tibby to learn that she needed to be more open-minded with opportunities. Carmen also matured during the summer of the pants. Her father was going to re-marry and Carmen did not like that at all. She didn't even give them a chance before she had made up her mind. Which was basically, that she didn't like them. She had judged every individual in that family before she even got to know them. She learned that she shouldn't judge a person without getting to know them first. Bridgette, again, went through a maturing process. She was always a daring, carpe diem kind of girl. I admire her for all of her spunk. But one night she went to far with her dream guy and realized that she shouldn't have gone to that level. I think highly of her decision to go after the boy she wanted, but she seriously should have thought about it before she actually did it. But I think she learned that too. That you shouldn't always live for the moment, because you may come to regret it. Lena, who has always been mature, learned something important as well; that not all boys are creeps. That may like a funny lesson, but to her, it was definitely important. She learned to love and to now be scared of all of the emotions she was having with Kostos.
I loved this book! I cannot wait to read the sequel!

Review: Carmen, Bridget, Tibby, and Lena, four best friends, are the focus of Ann Brashares novel The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. These four girls are as close as close can get. They practically spend every waking moment together until summer arrives. The four girls are all going to different places, and wont see each other for months, but are determined to stay as close as possible, which is why they come up with the idea of the traveling pants. All four girls want a chance at wearing these pants because they look amazing on each one of them. They decide to split the summer into four parts and after each girl's time is up they mail the jeans to the next. Their summers are each made up of different experiences, but the one thing that holds them together is the pants. During their months apart, the girls write each other letters back and forth to keep in touch and to inform each other on what the pants have been through. Each girl experiences at least one major event of their summer in the pants and is "passing" them on to the next. Not only did the girls experience new things, but they also grew up a lot that summer. At the end of their vacations, the girls all meet and share the pros and cons of their summer. The girls knew that the pants meant a lot to their friendship because its what kept them best friends throughout the summer months. The girls thought of the pants as magical, and they withheld secrets that will stay with them forever. After reading this book I learned a lot about myself and how big of a role my friends play in my life.

Summary: The Sisterhood of Utter Crap
Review: This is by far one the worst books I've ever read, it was a waste of about four hours of my life. The characterization is decent, but with the differences between them, it's hard to believe that they are friends in the first place. Also, the idea of magic pants being sent from person to person is just ludicrous. If I were you, and I had a second chance, I would avoid this book at all costs.

Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is an amazing story mainly about what it means to be a true friend. The author, Ann Brashares has done an excellent job in illustrating some important life lessons in this book. Friendship, loyalty, trust, pain, romance, and confusion are few of many things that four best friends experienced the first summer they were ever away from eachother. I recommend this book to any girl, any age. It teaches incredible life lessons, and is a very heart warming book.

Review: These are two of the best books I ever read in my entire life. I hope the author writes a third book or even a fourth if possible but at least a third. If she does I can't wait to read it. If she does I can't wait. I know it's kind of weird but I sort of wish my life was like one of the four girls in the book. Its so amazing. I just love the books, they are so inspiring to me. I recommend all teenage girls read it.

Review: This book is a really good one. It has got like everything in life in it, it's easy to read and follow. My friend gave it to me basically to lighten her backpack, so I started to read it. Carmen is the Puerto Rican's daughter, going to her father's place unaware of what will happen there: his father has a fiancee. She is unaccustomed and she hates all of them: The fiancee, her kids, and her father, a bit.
Tibby is the rebel. She is the only one staying home and is working in the Wallman's mall. She rescues 12 years old Bailey and finds out she has luekemia. At first Tibby does not want to, but then the two challenging girls automatically clicked and became friends. Then Bailey wounds up in the hospital all of a sudden.
Lena goes to Greece with her sister to her grandmother and bapi. Her grandmother sets her up with Kostos, who caught her skinny dipping in a olive grove pond. Lena is convinced Kostos is a terrible person, and gives her bapi the wrong idea of the whole thing so that he starts a fight with Kostos' bapi. It was all misunderstood and Lena feels miserable.
Bridget goes to camp. She is falls madly in love with Eric, this extremely cute coach who is a lot older than her. She makes a fool over Eric and herself, also her own coach thinks that Bridget is a show-off. She'd never let anyone say no to her, but that's all they do to her.
These best friends are linked up with the magical pants that Carma found in the thrift shop. They all fit they pants, and fit great. They send the pants all around the world to each other and write down their adventures on the pants. This is the best book about friendship I have ever read.

Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a novel about four teenage girls who are best friends, who must separate for the summer and end up discovering new things about themselves. Tibby, Bridget, Lena and Carmen were inseparable since birth, and one summer they are forced to separate when they all travel to different places. The novel has boy troubles, friend troubles, parent troubles, and troubles within themselves. While Tibby is stuck at home working at Wallmans, Bridget goes to an Olympic soccer training camp in Baja, California. Lena travels to Greece and meets her grandparents, and Carmen goes and spends the summer with her dad. The girls write letters to each other throughout the summer, and the keep in touch by sending their "magic pants" to eachother throughout the trips. It's not what the pants do, or how the pants make the girls look, oh no- it's what the girls do in the pants that makes this book worth while.
Being a teenage girl with four best friends, this book automatically engulfed me. There was something about these girls and their sisterhood that reminds me about my own friends. Each of these girls has something everyone can relate to. It's for girls like Tibby who try not to care about anything, but deep down inside always care, and do the right thing. Or for party girls like Bridget who just can't seem to say no, even when it's ok to. It can be for girls like Carmen, who hate change, or who have issues with their parents. And it's for reserved girls like Lena, who sometimes need to break out of their shells once and a while.
I absolutely loved this book. It was charming and adventurous. It made me laugh, cry, it surprised me, and it shook me. These girls dig down inside themselves, and discover something new about themselves. It's a book about growing up and becoming a woman. Instead of relying on their friends to always be there, they have to endure this summer on their own. It truly is an amazing book, and I would recommend it to ANY girl or woman, who would like to read a memorable and touching book about breaking off of a solid friendship, and becoming an individual.

Summary: Traveling Teenage Summer
Review: This book is amazing and tells a story of four true friends that did nothing but have fun and enjoy a teenage summer life. In this novel you learn some life lessons and it faces you with reality. This is going to be the first summer they are all not together. Tibby who is going to stay home, Lena who was going to Greece with her grandparents, Carmen goes to visit her dad and Bridget who goes to play soccer at a camp. They have these jeans they bought together and each girl will alternate with them while on their trips but the pants have rules that have to be abided by. Each letter it explains the girl's summer fun, any surprises and the jeans they receive when it's their turn in the rotation. The pants are going to travel and experience a life time along with them.
I think author Ann Brashare is an amazing author .I like how it is about teenage girls who are best friends and wait for each day to spend together. They are incidents in the book that can relate to a teenage girls everyday life. You really get in to the book especially when a problem occurs and you don't want to put it down. As I was reading this book I was able to connect some of their teenage problems with some of my friends and I. It reminded me of a lot of the good times and sad times we share just like the girls in the books. They are such good friends even thought this is the first time they are going to be apart for a long period of time they want to make sure they keep in touch. Each time they write each other it was like they hadn't seen each other in so long.
There is a part in the book that really shows that teenagers can be helpful yet at times make mistakes in judges someone's appearance. There is an accident at Tibbys work, Wallmans, where she befriends a 12-year-old cancer victim. They start out as enemies and are fighting and they don't even know each other. Eventually Tibby finds out what is wrong with her and it's like she reunited with a long lost friend. I like the book because it shows no matter who you meet you cannot judge them by there appearance, just like you can't just a book by its cover. Tibby thought this girl was going to be a brat because of the way she came at her and look they are now friends. Friends today still have this problem and can learn from Tibbys experience. This book is great for any girl who has best friends and experience the great times together. Also wants to feel like they are traveling with the girls too.

Review: I recently read a novel by Ann Brashares titled The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I think the book is beautifully descriptive as it takes the reader through the heart-wrenching journeys of four best friends. I enjoyed the book for several reasons. I love books that are easy to relate to. The characters are so vivid and different from each other, which makes the book captivating the entire way through. Each of the girls is experiencing an exciting adventure that makes the book almost impossible to put down. It contains every element of a great book.

The reason I believe that almost anyone could enjoy the book is because the characters are so easy to relate to. Since each girl is going through different and exciting adventures it is like four books in one. Ann Brashares illustrates a friendship that everyone wishes they had. With as many emotions, adventures and interests in one book, it is a good choice for nearly anyone.
