Rating: Summary: My New Favorite Book Review: I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!! It was a feel-good story about four 15-year old friends who all go in different directions one summer. They mail a special pair of pants to one another over certain periods of time that summer, and... well, read the book to see for yourself. I reccomend this book to everyone!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of those heart-warming books! Review: I know I'm just one of many reviews for this great book, but I just had to say MY thoughts about "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"! This is by far the best book I have ever read in my life. I'm not gonna re-type the story-line because there's a thousand summaries of the story on this page already. I just have to say READ THIS BOOK! It taught me so much about friendship, and along the way I laughed and even cried. This is one of those books you will never forget about... ever! Read this book, you won't be sorry!
Rating: Summary: I've read better, but I"ve also read worse Review: After hearing so much about this book being SOOOO great from other people, I read it, expecting to be absolutely dazzled. But, I wasn't. It was good, but it definitely could have been better. The way it skips around from girl to girl, is on the borderline of confusing and cool.
Rating: Summary: A little too "quaint" Ya-Ya Sisterhood for Teenagers Review: I checked out this book not realizing it was a book for young adults. I found it very entertaining, similar to "The Divine Secrets" without all the sex and violence. The girls are somewhat motif types with their personalities, and they just seemed a little too "good" and innocent. I had to keep reminding myself that the time period was now and not the 1950's. Also, Eric's speech to Bridget after their "evening together" didn't sound like any 19 year old boys I have ever known - far too mature and compassionate to ring true to me. But, overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to adults and teenagers alike.
Rating: Summary: The Sisterhood Of the Traveling Pants Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling pants was very well.. to be honest boring in the begining, and my mom always taught me to finish what you start and I am glad I did because this book turned out to be the best I have ever read. Tibby, Carmen, Lena and Bridget had such diffrent things going on in thier lives some painful and some exciting but when they had those magical pants they were confident, well most of the time anyway. Bridget had a broken heart, Lena was upset yet love struck, Carmen was trying to deal with her father's "new" family and Tibby well she was dealing with a death of a new friend. And since they didn't have thier friend's by their side...they got the next best thing, the pants.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: This is a great book! I realize that this is a shallow, nondescript statement, but it's true. Over the course of the book, you will fall in love with these four girls-Tibby, Bridget, Carmen, and Lena. You'll meet Bailey, Al (who is now Albert), Eric, Kostos, Molly, Bapi, Lydia, Duncan, Effie...wondering who all these people are? Then pick up a copy and find out! This wonderful story chronicles falling in love, losing a friend, and growing up, all over the course of a summer. If you are a teenage girl, this book should be your Bible!
Rating: Summary: Heartwarming and True Review: How does one pair of jeans look fabulous and flattering on Tibby, Lena, Bridget, and Carmen, all with their different heights and body types? These pants are as special as the girls' friendship, which is about to be tested by a summer apart. As each girl prepares to go her separate way to learn a little, well, a lot more about the world and herself, the foursome promise to keep in contact by sharing this amazing pair of jeans. The girls write to each other and send around the jeans, and with it, their love and strength. The rules for wearing and sharing the jeans are as hysterical as their loyalty to each other is strong, and the jeans always seem to arrive in the mail just as each girl is really in need of her friends' support. Enjoy the quotes that begin each chapter!
Rating: Summary: Sisterhood is fun, insightful for teen girls Review: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants will have great appeal for teenage girls, especially those in middle school. The story of four best friends separated for the first time during the summer, it follows each as they learn about love, friendship and families. The individual stories of the four are joined together by their letters back and fourth and a pair of pants that somehow fits each of the perfectly. Along with letters, they send the pants back and fourth in moral support of the wearer. This book may not win any awards, but it is a fun, somewhat insightful romp through summer adventures with the four friends.
Rating: Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares is a delightfull, coming of age story that teenage girls will enjoy from beginning to end. Follow the jouney of thepants as it becomes a magical element of four girls summer experiences. The girls learn about themselves, about each other and about growing up all with the help and comfort of th traveling pants.
Rating: Summary: A Summer With the Sisterhood! Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is about friendship, and about growing up. It is the story of four life-long friends, Lena, Bridget, Carmen and Tibby, and the first summer they spend apart. The magical pants become the representation of their friendship, and all they have to offer each other. When one of them wears the pants, it is like the other three are standing right there beside them. They all have expectations of what their summers will be like, but they each experience a summer they will never forget. The story unfolds as their summers unfold, and they learn about families, stepfamilies, love, sex, relationships, and even death. Most importantly, they learn about themselves, and about a friendship so deep that they can be there for each other without saying a word. By the end of the summer, they have all grown in ways they never expected. It is a book you will not be able to put down, as you laugh and cry with the sisterhood.
