Summary: Second best book of the year.
Review: I enjoyed this book, even though it was a very simple minded idea. It was still interesting, and involved us in the the lives of four very different girls. My only problem with it is I'd just finished reading a sleeper, SIGHTS by Susanna Vance, that is the best thing Random House ever published for teens. That book was so honestly written and so SMART, TRAVELING PANTS didn't have a chance. I can recommend both, but TP is a lighter read.

Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, by Ann Brashares, is an outstanding realistic fictional book you can't put down. The characters in this book come alive as you read through it. Their emotions are so real that it is easy to relate to the characters. The description is so astonishing and thorough that you connect with their personalities. I think Ann Brashares is trying to send a message about the significance of friendship, while mixing in the "magical pants" as a symbol of comfort. The pants remind them of each other. The writing is excellent, very straightforward. I would recommend this book to any age group because the plot is incredibly interesting and enjoyable. Carmen, Lena, Bridgett, and Tibby always spend their summer vacation together, but not this one. This summer by being apart they understand how valuable their friendship really is. They find a pair of old pants in one of their closets the night before they leave. The pants accent each one of their figures, so they decide to share them by each taking the pants twice, during their trips. Wearing the pants gives them courage, confidence, and self respect. Now they will need each other more than ever and realize friendship is more important than anything.

Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Review: I read 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' a week or so ago, unsure of whether or not I would like it. I loved reading about Bridget, Carmen, Tibby, and Lena, and their summers apart. They really reminded me of me and my best friend! This book made me laugh, it made me gasp, it made me cry, and it kept me reading it for hours on end! This is the best book I have ever read, and I definetly think that others should read it too! I hope that Anne Brashers writes a sequel soon!

Summary: One of the best books I've ever read!
Review: This is an awebook book! The characters are very real. As a 15 year old girl, I really could relate to Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bridget. This book will make you laugh hysterically, cry, then laugh again. The girls' letters to each other in their own point of view are so funny! It feels as if the characters are real instead of figures of the author's imagination. I've read it over and over again. I hope they make a movie out of this clever and funny, must - read book.

Summary: Fantastic and I don't usually gush over a book!
Review: A very touching/moving story without being overly dramatic and "I can't believe all this happened to these few kids". Life really does throw you a loop and always when your expectations are 360 degrees from what 'does' actually happen. I highly recommend this book for any teen, boy or girl. I should know, I'm a young adult library assistant!

Summary: Suprisingly Good "Sisterhood"
Review: "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" follows four teenaged best friends, Lena, Tibby, Bridget and Carmen, as they spend a summer apart. Carmen purchased a pair of jeans at a thrift shop quite some time earlier; before they go their separate ways for the summer, the girls vow to send the pants quite literally around the world, going from friend to friend. Each girl has her own storyline: Tibby inadvertantly makes a younger friend and tries not to be embarrassed by her first job; Lena visits her grandparents in Greece and paints to her heart's content; Bridget makes goals and wins over an older counselor at soccer camp; and Carmen tries to cope with the news that her father is getting remarried. Personally, I found Tibby's story to be the most heartwrenching, but the girls and their trials were vastly different and will make the book appeal to a broad range of readers. Very enjoyable read, with more depth and realism than one might expect due to the title. I definitely recommend this book to those who like movies and books about strong female characters and friendships, ranging from Have a Nice Life to Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood to Mystic Pizza.

Review: I thought this book was pretty good. I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids though, because it had some things in it that would be inappropiate for them. It's a great story of friendship and learning values. You should read it if you're older.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: This book was awesome! My group of friends pass around books and this one was by far one of the best all of us have read. The adventures of the girls were touching, exciting, and funny. The book involves things that most teenage girls can relate too and can sympathize with.
