Rating: Summary: Ashley's Review Review: Summary- The novel consists of four main girl friends whose summers are always milestones. They spend the entire summer together sharing laughs and having fun. However, one particular summer they will spend months apart to live separate lives. Bridget attends soccer camp for the summer in Baja, California. Here she falls head over heels for Eric, a 19-year old camp counselor. Carmen goes to visit her father who now has a much different life then the divorced and lonely life of his past. Carmen's father is now engaged to be marrying a woman who already has two children. Another character, Lena, goes with her sister Effie to paint and live in Greece with their grandparents. Tibby has to spend her summer at home working at Wallman's. During the summer Tibby spends much of her free time with a younger girl named Bailey. All four of the girls have very different summers, which they share through the passing of their magical pants. Whenever they are worn new stories are made. Evaluation- The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was extraordinary. It deals with issues girl friends face in their teenage years. Even though you may feel no one else knows your situation, there's always someone who has lived it. The book describes a crush a girl has over a boy and her reactions to such a relationship. Also the ways families grow and change, including a new stepmother and her children. The book is great in the aspect of dealing with the death of a loved one. The novel is filled with emotions; from love to sorrow they are all there. With such a range of emotions the novel really keeps you wanting to read more about the evolving characters.

Rating: Summary: Four Best Friends and a Pair of Pants Review: In The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares, four best friends named Lena, Tibby, Bridget, and Carmen have never been split up in the summer time before and when that happens, they are very disappointed. With the traveling pants, they will enjoy themselves while they're apart. When they split up, it will be unusual since they are always together. But there is one thing that will keep them all tied together. PANTS!!! Carmen bought the pants from a secondhand store and surprisingly, they fit all four girls. They decide that the pants will be the way that they communicate. Ann Brashares has the talent of putting you in the position of the characters. If they go on an adventure, you will feel like you are going with them. She does a good job of getting you to want to keep reading the book. Each one of the characters faces a problem. Lena will be going to Greece, which is very exciting, but if you read the book, you'll see what problems she faces. Tibby will be the only one in the hometown (Washington D.C) and she is very disappointed, but she meets someone else and they bond quickly. Bridget goes off to camp in Los Angeles. She is a friendly person so she makes friends fast. Carmen will be going of to see her dad, because her dad and mom divorced when she was young. But she is surprised when she gets there. On each of their adventures, they learn something important that changes them. Some of them change what they think of people. Some of them change how they think of themselves. At the beginning of the story, everyone is very excited about going on an adventure. In the middle, they start to get sad because things start to go wrong. Towards the end, things get a lot better. On the cover, there is a pair of pants. I thought it would be a fashion book. I picked it up and it was nothing like it that, but it was an outstanding book. (...).
Rating: Summary: Awesome Book!! Review: I loved this book because it has some romance, yet some action. Romance because of Lena and Kostos. Action because of Bapi and Bapi Dounlas. This book is funny yet serious at the same time. My favorite character is Bridget because she's not scared to try new things. She's very funny and she's very energetic. I would highly recommend this book for a female teenager.
Rating: Summary: Amazing book, every teen/preteen should read it at least onc Review: I found this to be an amazing book, by reading the back and a full summary I thought it would be extremely corny and all mushy gushy, happy dappy and cookie cutter where life is grand. But it is SO totally not! I don't know how they are going to make this book into a movie, I am praying that they don't crap it up and Disney it like they did with The Princess Diaries, then I will cry!! However, if they make it a lot like the book with a few small changes (who's made a movie based on a book that's EXACTLY like the book?), I will sing "Halleluejah" (sp?) over and over again will jumping for joy and wearing a dainty garland over my head, I think the movie should be rated PG-13. This should be a requirement read for all preteens and teens (though some stuff may be inappropriate for under 11 year olds). This book made me laugh and even tear up when Bailey and Tibby's friendship were shown. Immediately I fell in love with it while I was reading it, I especially loved the Tibby/Bailey storyline because it showed true friends and how great and real they can be.
Rating: Summary: The Biggest Five Stars for this one!!! Review: This was such a fun book! (I actually read It on my summer vacation!) Its about these four best friends (Lena, Tibby, Carmen, and Bridget), and their first summer apart! So Carmen has these pants she pays absolutely no attention too, then Tibby discovers them burried in her closet and concludes that there magical when she, and the rest of the sisterhood gang tries them on. Magical? because the Pants look so good on all of them, even when they all have these very different bodies. So this is when the adventure begins, making this whole special ceremony over it by even making strict rules on what and what not to do with the pants: 1.You must never wash the pants. 2.You must never double-cuff the Pants. It's tacky. There will never be a time when this will not be tacky. 3.You must never say the word "phat" while wearing the Pants. You must also never think "I am fat" while wearing the Pants. 4.You must never let a boy take off the Pants (although you may take them off in his presence) 5.You must not pick your nose while wearing the Pants. You may, however, scratch casually at your nostril while really kind of picking. 6.Upon our reunion, you must follow the proper procedures for documenting your time in the Pants. 7.You must write to your sisters throughout the summer, no matter how much fun you are having without them. 8.You must pass the Pants along to your sisters according to the specifications set down by the Sisterhood. Failure to comply will result in a severe spanking upon our reunion. 9.You must not wear the Pants with a tucked-in shirt and belt. See rule #2. 10.Remember:Pants=love. Love your pals. Love yourself. Tibby stays home the whole summer, Lena goes to Greece, Carmen goes to Charleston to visit his divorced dad, and Bridget goes to Soccer Camp In Baja California! They all get into these problems and adventures and get out of them In this way that It's fun to read, the pants with them. They create this adventure and the pants to hold the memories, like a signal of their friendship, to know that they are never apart, and when Bridget or Carmen or Lena or Tibby gets to hold the pants, they know theres a little of their Pals in them.
Rating: Summary: sisterhood of the traveling pants Review: I thought The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was a great book. I highly recomend this book for teenage girls. You feel as if you know the girls, in the book the characters personality's range from sporty to flirty and you can relate to their lives.Personally I could relate all of my friends to characters from the book, making the book seem realistic. If you enjoy reading books written as diaries, such as Angus, Thongs, And Full Frontal Snogging orThe Princess Diaries I would highly suggest you reading this book. It isn't the average diary though it's the thoughts and feeling of all of these different girls. You also read letters back and forth between the girls. This book, I think, is a book any teenage girl would love ou go through love, heartbreak, and a tightly knit friendship of these four girls
Rating: Summary: teen sucess Review: The only reason I read this book is because it kept showing up on my recommended reading list. I had tripidation since I realized it was a teen book and I just wasn't in the mood for that sappy-teen-best-friendness-trist. It wasn't until I came to fill out this review that I realized that I am the 530th reviewer. I had no idea just how popular this book became. Well, I can honestly say it was well worth my time. This is a story about four friends spending their first summer apart. These 15, almost 16, year old girls have been friends since before birth and are different from each other in every way you could imagine. Yet, they support and love each other unconditionally. When Puerto Rican, Carmen, buys a pair of jeans at a thrift store, she doesn't even bother to try them on. Not until she is packing for her summer away with her father and decides to throw them out, that ratical Tibby ask if she could have them. Tibby tries them on and the girls are amazed at how good they look on her. Each girl then takes a turn trying on the "magical" jeans and discover that they each look fantastical regardless of height or body shape. They then form a pack to share the jeans throughout the summer. Never to wash them and express mail them to the next girl after they are through. I know, this sounds incredibly corney. The surprise is it's not. The girls begin their summer discovering who they really are. Tibby meets a dying 12 year old girl that teaches her how to see the world in a different light. Carmen creates a new relationship with her dad. Lena gets to know her grandparents in Greece and (well, I don't want to say anything else--this part really cracks me up). Bridget (probably the most disturbed teen) makes a horrible mistake. Teen or adult, you cannot go wrong with this novel. A wonderful, touching, tearful read.
Rating: Summary: Sisterhood Of the traveling Jeans Review: Too be honest, this is only my opinion! This was the WORST book I ever read EVER!! (...)I thought it was confusing and boring! This book talks about how this girl brought a pair of jeans out the Rag Shop! And how they think there magical because they fitt all the girls that are all different shapes and sizes! I honestly dont know if I just didnt like the book because I was confused or just couldnt relate! But this is my opinion, please dont let me stop you from reading this book! But, I do have to give the author some credit, (...)this book is always on TV! Talking about how great the book is! Good luck!
