Rating: Summary: All For One, and One For All Review: All For One, and One For All The book, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, is about four best friends who have unusual experiences over the summer with a pair of magical pants. It is the last day that Carmen, Tibby, Bridget, and Lena, four best friends, have together before they all split up for the summer to go to different places. Carmen is going to visit her dad in South Carolina; Lena is going to Greece to visit her grandparents; Bridget is going to a camp in Baja, California; and Tibby is staying at home. As Tibby is looking around Carmen's room, she immediately spots the magical pants and asks to try them on. Ironically they fit Tibby perfectly, and the pants fit the rest of the girls perfectly too. They then knew that the pants were magical, and decided that they would share the pants throughout the summer to stay close to each other. Since the pants are magical and help the girls make decisions, this is a summer that they will never forget! I definitely recommend this book to girls 13 and up. I say this, because the girls in this book are fifteen, but thirteen year olds can relate to this book also, because of what goes on in the book. This book teaches you many life lessons. For example the book teaches you to love your friends, your life, your family, but mostly to love yourself. It also helps you find your inner or true self when situations can get sticky. But most importantly, it helps us girls realize that we are not the only people going through these everyday problems. All girls go through them at some time or another, so you shouldn't be afraid. You will always have loved ones that will be there for you. This is a great book for all girls!
Rating: Summary: A Great Book Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, by Ann Brashares, is a great book that involves four girls and a pair of pants: Tibby, Lena, Bridget, and Carmen. Bridget is in a soccer camp in Baja, California and falls in love with a conselour who is "off limits." She realizes that he likes her. However, there is a rule that they cannot be together. Tibby is still at home in Washington D.C. and meets a girl named Bailey. She finds out that Bailey has leukemia and has an unknown amount of time left to live. One day, Bailey is admitted into the hospital and is slowly dying. She finally passes away and Tibby attends the funeral. Carmen is visiting her father in South Carolina and finds out that he is remarrying to a woman named Libby who has two children. She feels invisible because her fathers attention is diverted to these three souls. She flies home to go back to Tibby. Lena is in Greece with her grandparents and falls in love with a family friend named Kostos, however she is afraid to show her real feelings for him. She finally does on her last day in Greece. All these girls have different problems that a special pair of magical pants help them with. Tibby gets the courage to visit Tibby, Lena confessees her love, and Carmen and Bridget are both helped by feeling loved. I would definitely reccomend this book to any teenage girl because it has many subjects that they will be able to relate to.
Rating: Summary: Friends Last Forever Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, by Ann Brashares, is about four adolescent best friends, who look to each other for support and love. Then comes one dreadful summer where they will each be apart from one another. The day before they take their separate paths, they find a "magical" pair of pants. The pants are dubbed "magical" when each girl tries them on and the girls discover how gracefully the pants fit each of their very different bodies. They decide to share the pants throughout the long summer apart. Lena ends up in a beautiful town in Greece with her grandparents, where she discovers the turmoil of love. Carmen goes to spend the summer with her father and is greeted by guilt, confusion, and anger when she meets her father's "new family". Bridget ends up in a soccer camp where she also discovers the pain of love when she falls for an "off limits" counselor. Finally, Tibby is the one who is "stuck" at home where she finds friendship in an unusual source, a twelve year old girl diagnosed with leukemia. Each girl uses the pair of pants to help them with their fears, loses, gains, acceptance, and heartaches. I would recommend this wonderful book to any teenage girl. The author, Ann Brashares, develops the problems and characters in such a creative and exciting way. Ann Brashares also made the characters so easy to relate to, which will hook any girl to the fantastic book.

Rating: Summary: Bore Review: This book is such a bore. All the girls are so cliché. If they didn't have different names, I'd think they were all the same girls, with just a few different personality traits. All the characters are soggy, the only thing I fount enjoyable was the plot. ...
Rating: Summary: An excellent rainy day book! Review: I read this novel in one day. Granted my butt was glued to the chair most of the day, but I couldn't stop reading. My only disappointment was the lack of character depth. I wanted to know SO much more about the characters. Now I want a book about each of the girls. I believe Brashares could continue the story of these girls very easily! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Rating: Summary: wow! Review: I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher and let me tell you, I would have paid double it's price had I known! The story is heartwarming! I am 25 and although it is geared towards the younger reader, I was hooked! It reminds me of Judy Bloom's "Are You There God..." A great read!
