Summary: The sisterhood
Review: When I read the book "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," written by Ann Brashare, it opened my eyes to what a simple object such as a pair of old, thrift store jeans can mean to someone. In this book, four friends are spending there first summer apart. Days before they split up they find a pair of old thrift store jeans that in some magical way look great on every one of them even though they are built completely different. They girls decided that they should share the jeans this summer by making up rules to regulate the jeans and shipping the jeans every couple of weeks. Each of the girls go through life changing events in these pair of jeans and at the end of the summer they discover that they have all matured in a vast way.
This book is definitely geared towards 12 to 16 years old girls. Ann Brashare keeps the readers interest by using an interesting style. The story line bounces back and forth between the girls in their different locations in the summer. Along with that there are letters intertwined into to story that they girls write to each other when they are getting ready to send the pants to a new person. Overall this book made me realize how important your best friends are. In the book each of the four friends really depended on each other. It made me sort of envious because I never know if I would ever have a friendship like theirs. However, I can only hope. Overall I would give this book 4 stars out of 5. It was a well-written book and an easy read.

Summary: A great summer catch
Review: If you want a relaxing, fun loving book The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares would be the perfect book for you to check out for the summer, no matter what age you are. This book is about four best friends who realize that their normal summer routines aren't going to be so normal this year, because each one of them is going to be in a completely different place then everyone else. One of the girls is stuck at their hometown and is upset about being left behind so she asked for the magical pants (which were bought at a thrift store). These pants fit each girls different body types like a glove, so they knew that they each had to spend some time in those pants over the summer, and that's where the traveling pants adventures began. Through out the book you get to know each one of the girls personalities very very well, you almost start feeling like these girls are you own friends and that you need to call them to check up on the daily news! Each one of the girls being by them selves almost all summer really allowed you to get to know the true them with out trying to impress other people, plus the girls would write to each other through out the summer so you heard them discuss their weaknesses. This is good for all teenage girls to realize that they are not the only ones with certain issues. The style of the book is perfect, since the book is about teenage girls of course their "lingo" will have to match up with what us teenagers really say. I think that Ann did a good job coming through as a teenage girl through all four of her characters. I even thought it was cool that the book talked about stuff that us teenagers really do enjoy, for example the TV series Friends is mentioned which made the book relate to this generation a lot more then if the series would have been say the Brady Bunch. This book made me realize how close my friends really were to me through this time in my life, it made me want to go out and make some kind of "ritual" for us girls. I would highly recommend this book to any girls (or boys if they want), the age does not matter because if you don't' relate to these girls right now I'm sure you did at one time in your life!

Summary: Where can I find a pair of those jeans?
Review: This is a wonderful book for all ages. The friendship and love between these girls is powerful and moving. Four detailed stories are woven together through the connection of the four girls and their letters to one another. Heartfelt emotional stories of travel, frienship, love and loss give a view of human nature and the world. In my 20's I can still relate to the characters. It makes me wish I had friends like that and a pair of jeans like that too. It will make you want to travel. As long as they didn't change a thing, this book could make a great movie!

Summary: Do spend your money on this book!!!
Review: The tale of the Traveling Pants and their owners Lena, Carmen, Bridget, and Tibby. Lena escorts the pants on their first adventure to Greece. She took them first because, the rules said so. Then Tibby, Carmen, and then Bridget. The story follows the four girls and their adventures in their first summer apart. Some of the reasons I liked this book are the locations, the characters personalities, and how each character solves their problems. The story is located in Baja, CA Washington D.C., Oia,Greece, and South Carolina. All the characters are best friends and are very close. Just like my friends, their personalities are different, from punk to pretty and sensative to sporty. The book is geared to girls around the age of 15 (that's how old the characters are),but anyone would enjoy it. It was hard for me to picture some stuff because, I'm not fifteen. In conclusion this is a really great book, I would recommend it to anyone.
