Summary: The Best Book This Year
Review: Who would have ever thought it was possible to meet your four best friends before you are even born. Then to go on later in life and buy a pair of pants at a thrift store which turn out to be magical and fit all four of you perfectly when all your builds and body types are different.
'The Septembers' are what they call themselves, and best friends forever are what they are. It will be the first summer ever that the four girls are separated. Lena is off to Greece to visit her Grandparents. Carmen is going to South Carolina to spend the summer with her divorced dad. Athletic Bridget is going away to Soccer Camp in Baja California. And last but not least there is Tibby who is stuck at home over the summer working a job at the local grocery store, Wallman's.
Their plan is to send the pants around to each person over the summer. It works out that each girl should get them twice and while they have the pants they are to write what happened in them and then send them off to the next girl. Over the summer each girl has her own adventures both good and bad which lead them to uncover aspects about themselves they never saw before.
This was one of the best books I've read in a long time and I can't wait to read the sequel!

Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is great!
Review: I recently read "the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" by Ann Brashares and enjoyed it very much. It tells of four girls in their mid teens near Washington, DC. These girls have a sister-like bond that started before they were even born. Their mothers had pre-birth courses together as the girls were all expected to be born around the same time, near September. They were, and their mothers continued to be friends for long enough for the girls to grow deep bonds between them. They have been friends forever and are preparing for their first summer apart. Carmen is going to her dad's in South Carolina, Lena to her Grandma and Grandpa's in Greece, Bridget to a soccer camp in Baja Mexico, and they leave Tibby to work in a Wallman's store in their hometown. All expect their summer to be bad without one another, but a discovery the day before everyone (except Tibby) leaves, they make a great discovery, one that will bond the girls throughout the summer as they all meet someone special (or not special) in one of the most exciting summers of their lives.
I enjoyed this book very much, I thought it was well written and inventive, and always entertaining. I am currently reading the sequel and am, so far, enjoying it very much.

Summary: The Four Stages of the Traveling Pants
Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a wonderful book for all ages. It describes the friendship of four girls totally different from one another. There's Lena, Tibby, Bridget, and Carmen. All these girls are best friends and the pants put all their differences aside. I believe that it brings them closer together. They call themselves the "sisterhood" and they make up rules that everyone has to abide by while wearing the pants and borrowing the pants. This is book a mixture of happiness and sadness, but it is a very touching story. All the four girls are separated for the first time during the summer break and each has their own experience. Lena takes the pants with her to Greece, Tibby gets the pants and introduces them to her boring hometown and then lends them to a girl who's about to become someone special in the most surprising scenes, Bridget brings the pants with her to the soccer fields in Baja, California, and Carmen brings them with her to North Carolina where she becomes a wicked stepdaughter. This story is full of love, devotion, and a pair of pants that bring four friends together for the biggest summer of their lives.

Summary: Very descriptive for girls and friends to read together
Review: This novel had impressed me so much, I even feel like forming a Sisterhood of Traveling Pants CLub with some close friends of mine. My favorite storyline was Tibby's. Because of her new 12-year-old friend Bailey had leukemia and died during the summer. It just touched me with a great deal of pride and total dignity.
While in Carmen's storyline, I didn't really like Lydia and the kids, Krista and Paul, but when Carmen's dad (AL) told her that Lydia's mom had died before her first wedding and her first husband is in rehab, Carmen had felt awful and even shocked me. During her storyline, she had felt so hurt and utterly invisible the whole time there so much, she even ran away and went back home.
But I did like it when the author had wrapped her situation up in a nutshell in the end when Carmen wore the Pants, by them forcing her to go to her dad's wedding and recpetion. In Lena's storyline, however, well, wowie.
And in Bridget's storyline, she had went to a soccer camp in Baja, CA, which was actually in Mexico. BR> This story really relates to complex relationships of friendships and love, especially. Like, I say those of you reading this right now, try to suggest to a friend of reading this and the 2nd one. Because I'll bet my lucky stars (lolz) that she'll like it. So if she likes it, then maybe you guys' friendship will increase its loyalty of your friendship.
Overall, this author is a wonderful and hilarious writer, for writing her first novel. Even though some of the story was pretty predictable, the one thing that I had liked about that was that Ann Brashares makes it so interesting and totally inspiring that you just want to turn the pages. Which I think is a fabulous gift of making it inspirational to readers for a first-writer. Keep it up Mrs. Brashares! Can't wait to read your second one, and other books yet to come!!
