Rating: Summary: OH MY GOD!!!!! THIS IS THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!!!!! Review: Oh my god!!!! Ann Brashares really went all out in this one. this book was totally cool. it wasn't only just fun and entertaining, it had a meaning and a really wonderful story. i loved how each of the 4 friends each had their own story, and i loved how they wrote to each other to keep in touch. you really get a feel and sense of who everyone is in this book, from the very beginning. From Tibby's dull yet heartwarming summer at home with Bailey, to Lena's lovey dovey yet un-understanding summer nights in Greece with Kostos, everyone, even Bridget with Eric, and Carmen with the "Blond" family, gets in just a little bit, about their lives and meaningful stories. I loved this book, it really was one of those, that just made sense.
Rating: Summary: The teenage life all girls want summarized in one book Review: Honestly, how many teenage girls out there have a boyfriend who is hot and has an accent, and how many get to go to Mexico just for a soccor camp, how many touch a child? Not many. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, written by Ann Brashers, is a book about four close friends who are coming upon their first summer apart and who find a way to stay in touch while distant from each other. By sending a pair of pants to each other after having them for a two week period for themselves, they are able to communicate and share what happens to them while wearing the pants. A simple, entertaining book that makes you want to read more, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is pure bliss. With a boy who is the definition of the boy next door; a young friend; an older, foriegn man; and a jealous child, Ann Brashers captures the fun, adventurous life of four teenage girls and somehow makes you feel not only that it is reality, but that these girls are your friends. Making reality so surreal (seeing as not many of the events listed earlier actually happen to the everyday teenage girl), but keeping it within belief, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a great book for any teenage girl and her mother. Don't forget to follow this one with The Second Summer of the Sisterhood.
Rating: Summary: PANTS Review: I loved the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants! It brought together four totally different people with through common thread: a pair of jeans. Lena, Tibby, Carmen, and Bridget were best friends who were going to spend their first summer apart. They decide to send the pants to each other to help them keep in touch. During the summer each girl changes and learns a little bit more about herself. Lena travels to Greece with her little sister Effie to visit her grandparents. Lena, the natural beauty, learns not to make assumptions and learns how to open her heart up to others. The once enclosed and secretive girl finally gives Kostos (a boy madly in love with her) a chance, and it turns out that she loves him too. Next, Carmen goes to visit her father, whom she has not seen since his divorce with her mother. Carmen gives up her selfishness and her old idea of her father, a hip thirty-year old living in an awesome bachelor pad with his buddies. She finally gets used to the idea of his new family, and even attends the wedding. She learn to be more patient and understanding of other people's needs. Bridget attends soccer camp for the summer. She learns to stop pushing to get what she wants (her soccer coach), and let others get a chance to be the best. Bridget stops showing off, and begins to be more patient. Tibby is stuck at home for the summer. Tibby learns to love a stranger. She gives up her summer to help a girl dying of cancer, even though she was annoyed with her in the beginning. In the end, she finally realizes how precious life and time on her is. Overall this book shows that true friendship never ends, and that people can always change for the better. It shows what true love is really about. I loved reading every word of the book, and cannot wait until I get a chance to read the second and third books of the series. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a feel-good book, especially teenage girls.
Rating: Summary: Highly recommended for teenage girls Review: I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure, but mainly for teenage girls. In this novel, four friends that have spent every summer together since they were born are going their separate ways this summer. Lena is going to Greece, Bridget is going to Baja, Carmen is going to South Carolina and last but not least there's Tibby who is staying at home in Washington D.C. Each girl had a summer compacted with excitement, Bridget and Lena fall in love, Carmen runs away and Tibby meets an amazing girl Bailey who was diagnosed with cancer. Each story will keep you on your toes always wanting more. If your looking for a book that seems impossible to set down, this would be a great read for you.

Rating: Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants Review: Four friends are getting ready to go on a trip. They are all talking about how exciting and fun it is going to be, when one of the girlsfound a pair of jeans in her closet. She said that they had looked about her friend's size. She made her friend try on the pants and to their suprise they had fit her perfectly. She had the younger one, who was about the same size try them on too, and they fit! They were all getting suspicious. So they had the biggest girl try them on because they knew they wouldnt fit, but to their suprise they did. They had decided that on every trip that they took each one would bring the pants with her, and write what they had done in them on the jeans. One time one of the girls fell in love in those jeans. Another had met a really cute guy . This story revolves around friends getting along and sharing a special bond between each other. I think that many young readers and adults would enjoy reading this book, because when you're young you may think it's very cool to share a special bond like they did.
