Summary: Great book for all ages
Review: If it is true that Brashears wrote this as a book to "stick with young readers" like the books she read as a youth did, then she has succeeded and then some.

PANTS is one of the sweetest books I have read in a long time. It truly reminded me of the Judy Blume books I read as a youth (and that was before MTV kids). It's an easy read, and though it's supposedly for younger readers (teens/tweens), I enjoyed it immensely and I'm almost old enough to be the mom of these characters. Yes, it's predictable, especially if you're over the age of 14 and have read any books in your life, but that doesn't make it any less poignant.

It's rare that someone captures the importance and strength of female friendships and doesn't try to damage it by having one of the girls date another girl's boyfriends. The description of friendship in this book is so true and pure....even if your 15 or 50!

My only complaint is that she never really fleshes out what happened with Bridget at camp. But I guess we'll find that out in the next book, though I can assume it was something very important and I think I can assume she scored on and off the field. If this is the case, it would be great if Brashears expounds on how this experience affected Bridget more than just making her sad. It might help a lot of the young readers of the book sort out their thoughts/feelings about making the decision I think Bridget did. Yes, I'm being a bit vague to protect those who have not read the book yet.

My hope is that we see these girls through high school and college. That is a series I could really get into.

I also liked her use of quotes to signal the chapters. Nice touch, especially for us older readers who have attached great significance to many of those quotes (particularly the song lyrics, ahem.."In Your Eyes"). READ THIS BOOK.

Summary: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Review: I thought that The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was interesting enough. Some parts it was slow, but I still enjoyed it. I liked how the girls had real teenage problems. There is romance, but it's definately NOT typical. I really liked this book. But, have your parents read it before. They might not want you to read it. There is some mature content in there.

Summary: One of the best books i have ever read!
Review: This is a fantastic book!!! The book begins with a group of best friends. They are all leaving each other for thhe first time ever. They all are really excited about leaving but are also sad that they will have to leave each other.
One of the girls had bought a pair of pants at a thrift store. (She had never tried them on) One girl sees them and wants them so she tries them on. They fit her PERFECTLY!! The next girl tries them on and they sit on her curves like a glove! The same happens with the other girls. They decide to share the pants all summer and send them to each other when they are done.
Many things happen to the girls over the summer while they are wearing the pants. Then at the end they all write the things that happened to them on the pants.
If you enjoy books like Angus,Thongs, and Full Frontall Snogging, The Princess Diaries series, and Sloppy Firsts you will definitly love this book and understand why it was a New York Times bestseller! If you love this book make sure to check out the sequel!!!

Summary: a 7th grade students review
Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was a great book. The story takes four friends,Carmen,Tibby,Bridget, and Lena, with four different body types and makes one pair of pants fit them all. The pants also get traded between each girl for two weeks each. Supposedly the pants bring luck. This is an excellent book and I would recommend it to any Middle School student.

Summary: Read it, read it!
Review: I loved this book. It took me away and let me spend time with each character and I loved each one.
I bought the book for my 14year old niece, but I read it first and hated to give it away! It was fun, made me laugh out loud and spirited. I don't know that my niece has read it, but I'm ordering the second book and can't wait to receive it.

Summary: Katie's Thoughts
Review: The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants, by Ann Brashares, is a very realistic and exciting novel! It revolves around a pair of "magical" pants that four unique best friends: Tibby, Carmen, Lena, and Bridget each spend time with. Ann Brashares writes, in depth, different stories of each of the girls' summer in which they spend away from each other for the first time since their friendship began. Each girl spends one week with the pants and benefits from their experience. They each learn a lot from their experiences, not only about themselves, but about other people too. Teenage girls can very much relate to these characters and seek help from problems they come upon and resolve. I learned a lot from the experiences of the characters and I recommend it to other teenage girls who can learn as well.

Summary: A Wonderful Story of Love, Friendship, and Reality
Review: When 4 best friends, Lena, Bridget, Carmen, and Tibby prepare for their first summer apart they rely on a pair of "magical" pants to keep them together. Lena the beautiful friend goes to visit her grandparents in Greece. Tibby the rebellious friend stays at home, while working at a store called Wallman's. Bridget the athlete goes to soccer camp in Baja, California. Last, Carmen goes to visit her single father in South Carolina. They all have different experiences with the pants, some good, and some bad. But they believe that it is the "magical" pants that got them through those tough times. It is a wonderfully written novel that lets you explore the lives of 4 very different teenagers. It is a story that every girl can relate too. It is funny, uplifting, and touching. At times I wanted to cry and at times I wanted to laugh. It truly is an amazing novel that every girl, especially teenagers, should read.

Summary: Brianne's review BMS literary corner
Review: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is a five star book that is very realistic and most girl could relate to it. Carmen, Lena, Bridget, and Tibby are the four main characters who spend their whole summers, for the first time, away in different places. Even though this book leaves you with a few unanswered questions they are not major and I personally like books that make you think. The author, Ann Brashares, did an amazing job describing each character. From her descriptions you get a vivid picture of the four girls. The "magical" pants that the girls share are supposed to keep them together while they are separated. Each girl learns a valuable lesson that none of them will ever forget for the rest of their lives. Not only is this novel filled with emotions, both happy and sad, but filled with excitement as well. I know you will love this novel and will never be able to put it down!

Summary: The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants
Review: The book The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares takes you through the summer of four best friends who buy a pair of pants at a thrift store. When they take them home, they find that the pants fit all of the girls very well. They think it is magic because they fit all of them just right. This magical and thrilling tale takes you to Greece,California, there home town, and to one of the girls dads house and his home town. At one time Bee, one of the characters even travels into mexico. Although the book jumps from character to character it still tells a story that you can follow.
The four best friends are so close they are like sisters. All summer long they write back and forth, while sending the pants all over the world, to keep in touch. As one friend is whisked away to soccer camp in California and is having a wonderful time, another is trying to cope with a dying friend while trying to work her job at wallmans, and deal with there home town. As another friend is trying to deal with her father at his house, while learning that he has moved and getting married while she is there, and another friend is having the time of her life in greece.
Being such a different book unlike no other makes this book good for any age girls from 10 to 100. All girls should read this book. I feel this wonderful tale is a must read for anyone, and should be on everyone's list. This thrilling novel is exciting, finding out how the pants help and don't help the girls.
