Rating: Summary: The House on Mango Street Review: The House on Mango Street written by Sandra Cisneros is an excellent choice of literature. Esperenza is a young girl narrating the book. Esperenza's family moved around a lot. The book has many different stories. She discusses race and sex and relationships. On Mango Street she meets friends unlike her other homes where she lost her friends due to moving around a lot. I really enjoyed the book. I think the book shows how Esperenza matured. It taught me about morals and how family status affects you as a person.
Rating: Summary: The greatest book in the world Review: The house on mango street is the best book i read because it tells the every day life of people and how it effects them. This book is about a girl who moves around alot and wished for the best house to move in. The girl and her family is waiting for the right house. When her family decided the house she disliked the house. The reason she disliked the house is beacause it was only one bedroom for six people. After reading the book the words were so discriptive that I knew it was hard moving around the house. I didn't underestand why how it was a house. After reading a couple of paragraphs I see that the girl thinks that her house is a nightmare. This is the best book I thing I read in a long time and I reccomend this book to all my friends. I thing that this book deserve four stars
Rating: Summary: A View Of Life From A Minority Review: Sandra Cisneros wrote a wonderful book about how tough life was growing up a minority. She also told how the promise of america for living a rich free life wasn't really true. She came to realize that an american can have a rich free life if he was white. She expressed how living a life of poverty can change a human beings behavior in many different ways. The book really expresses what a teenager goes through when growing up. The changes that they go through physically as well as mentally. Especially go through as a poor hispanic woman which is a combination of minorties in itself. She learned about sex, drugs, racism in a very difficult manner. That is the main reason why I gave "The House On Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros 4 stars. For her great view of a minority's struggle through life to succeed a white dominated world.
Rating: Summary: My Mangos Review: The book was o.k. It was a little boring, but what I really liked was the name of the chapters. The rest of the book was not all that interesting. I like a book with action. This book has no type of action whatever. If it had a little of action I would have enjoyed it. The girl in the book has no life. She was telling boring stories about her life. So now I close with saying this is just my opinion not a fact. So you read at your own risk.
Rating: Summary: My Response to House On Mango Street Review: I think House on Mango Street was a great book. The book talk about how this young girl lived in the ghetto and how poor her family is. The book help me to realize how good I have it. Also to be greatful for everything that I have.
Rating: Summary: The house on Mango street Review: In the House On Mango streetthe female naritor was telling us how she lived in several different places. She dreamed one day that her parents told her that they had finally found their dream home. But it wasn't what she expected. The house on mango street was small with only one room for six people. She explained that the house was so small when you look at the windows they look like if they were holding their breth. It seems to me no matter what the out come is it's not pleasin to her, but she has no choise but to deal with it. chapter 2 "Hairs" This girl really have problems she is sitting their looking at everyone hair in the house talking about the diferent texture, length, and, smell. She is just amazed how every one is different. chapter 3 "Boy & Girls Eaperenza is compearing how boys/girsl have diferent views. She is saying how they keep their feelings bottled up inside ,by using her brothers for examples. But in a way it seems as though she is lonely , because she talks about her brothers stick together and her younger sister who is her responsibality hangs out with the neighbors. And she has no one to talk to or that could relate to what she is going.
Rating: Summary: My Review Review: My review on is The House On Mango Street. This book is about a young girl named Esperenza who is a part of a family of six. She has a lot of hopes and dreams of living in a better place. She describes her dream home like the ones she sees on tv.A big white house with picket fences and a lot of rooms.Right now she lives in a crappy house and shares one room with five other family members. Although she didn't have much she still made the best out of things.I rated this book by giving it a four. I gave this book a four because it's based on reality. She deals with the same issuea that a typical family would deal with. They did not have much but she didn't walk around with her head down in the dumps.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book I've Read Review: The writer speaks about her life. Anything that comes to her mind, she writes about it. The different styles used in writing the book makes everyone interested. Esperanza writes about her new home. It was not the one her parents wanted but it belonged to them. They did not have to pay rent. The house was small and red. Esperanza was very young. She loves her parents very much. She talks about her sister all the time. Esperanza's father said that people who went to public school always turned out bad. She got her first job at a photo studio. She liked her new job because it was not much work. When her grandfather died her dad was very upset. Esperanza thought that if her father died what would she do. She comforted her father. I loved the way Esperanza wrote poems. I admire Sandra Cisneros a whole lot. I like the great techniques she used to potray her feelings.

Rating: Summary: An Exceptional Piece of Literature Review: This book has helped me realize that blessings should be appreciated every day. Her memoirs described her childhood experiences in which life changed traumatically after every move. Her family moved constantly awaiting for their dream house after each move.It was really hard for Esperenza to make friends, since she moved al the time. The families dream was to live in a big house filled with happy memories, however this dream never came true. She showed great character when she befriended a lady whose husband mistreats her.I really like this book because it helped me realize that friendship's should be appreciated.Esperenza should great maturity for a person so young of age. She should be a model for all children. Esperenza's memoirs reflect her true desire for poetry. Her poems reflect her inner emotions.
