Rating: Summary: read this book Review: Short and delicious. As powerful as you let it be.
Rating: Summary: The House on Mango Street Review Review: The House on Mango Street was a simple book to read, but reflected every day life. The characters were in some ways like I'am, such as when it comes to my views on friendship, life, and love. The reading was easy for me so I felt more comfortable. There was no hard words to destract me from getting into the story. I liked the way the story was so descriptive with the characters. I got good mental images which makes it eaiser for me to understand the book. I would recommend this book to people, many of my friends are like me so I believe they will enjoy it as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: The House on Mango Street Review: To be be kind to the author, this work was indescribeable. It sucked beyond the vacumm of space. I fell asleap during the middle of the book!!! The writing style was as advanced as a 3 year old. I got lost in the book because the transition between mini-stories was so abrupt. I was unable to establish an environment, time, and location. The House on Mango Street should be sold with a bed.
Rating: Summary: Review of My View Review: I though this novel was okay because it pretty much covers what really happens on the streets/nieghborhood. I didn't like how every chapter was really short. I liked that it had real Mexican terms and I learned some that I didn't know. Cisneros has a great writing style, the only problem was that the chapters were really short. It didn't erally effect me because I've never lived in a neighborhood like hers. The only similar thing is being Mexican. I would recomend people to read the book so they can see how it's like growing up in a Mexican nieghborhood. This book is a about a little girl who has a dream to have a house of her own, to have a house to be proud of, to have a house to point to!
Rating: Summary: THEHOUSE ON MANGO STREET Review: Mango street was an ok book in theory.I did not like it because it seemed boring but maybe it is because it was about girls.Ilike the seperate peace it had much of the same thing with only boys.Insteadof runing around they did daring joumps and sports and water.Mango street was a life of a young girl boring.I did like the yellow teeth monkey.
Rating: Summary: The great book to read Review: The house on mango street is a great book because it has many things that people deal with today. The book was great it shows you the point of view from a teen age girl. Her style is great because she showed and telled what the characters were feeling at the time. The one chapter where she gets rape. Thats the part that hit me the hardest. A girl getting rape shouldn't happen to any woman, but it happens. She was not proud to tell or show where she lived they're just ashameded. I will tell someone to read this book.
Rating: Summary: The House on Mango Sreet (Review) Review: I think that the novel was a good story. There was nothing that I did'nt really like about the book The House on Mango Street. I did like how the story talked about the girl Esperanza had this dream to move into a bigger, nicer house. The authors writting style was intresting and different. It was easy to read.I would recommend someone to read the story because it is a good book.
Rating: Summary: my opinion Review: My opinion on The House on Mango Street, is that I really didn't get all of it. there were parts where I didn't understand what was going on in the story, and then there were parts where I could actually get a mental picture of what was going on and what the house look like that they were liveing in. So to coclude my opinion, the book wasn't terriable, it just wasn't my type of book.
Rating: Summary: what i really think Review: I really did like this book because it tells how mexican life's really are. The author writes well and different because she has chapter names in brief description, tells how the person fells, and gives the run down on everything. The girls name Ezpernza, is like mine in a way, so like that because we sometimes think the same. The way she discribes her dream house sounds like mine. The author really knew what she was writing.
Rating: Summary: The House on Mango Street Review: I didn't really like the novel The House on Mango Street. I thought it was a boring book. I think the authors writing was good and the book was well written. I don't think the characters life is that similar to mine. I don't go running around in gardens playing in junk cars. I would reccomend this book to others because they might have a different opinion about the book than others. They might actually like it.
