Summary: One of the Best Book Series Ever
Review: I have been an avid reader all my life and have found no series I love better than "Anne of Green Gables" by Lucy Maud Montgomery. I was first exposed to the series when I got the first book for free at school when I was a little girl. I began to read and quickly became enchanted with the world of Avonlea. Now, as a college student, I have read the entire series (a Christmas present)several times and seen the excellent TV movies. Never have I found characters more lovable or believable, or stories so enticing. Avonlea and Glen St. Mary were the first fictional places to truly become real before my eyes. I recommend this series to readers of every age; you will surely find something to love about "Anne".

Summary: Anne of Green Gables
Review: This is truly an outstanding series! Lucy Maud Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables" books captured moments in time that most teenage girls experience. Day dreams, wishes, the need for love, fantasy and reality are all combined to provide much laughter, entertainment and tears! I have read the series several times over the last 14 years and am now saving the books to pass on to my daughter. I truly can not wait until she is old enough to read them on her own!

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I have to admit, I'm not usually that fond of "chick flicks" even though I am a girl. Anne of Green Gables, even though it could be classifyed under that category, goes far and beyond the average "chick flick." It is truly the sweetest and most heartwarming tale ever. After seeing that movie I got the book, which, by the way, is a must read if you liked the movie. Anne Shirley is the main character, and she is absolute irresistable. She is spunky, spirited, talkative, sweet, loving, smart and very romantic. She is everything you could possibly want out of a book heroine. You will wish she was a real person so you could be friends with her. Anne's quaint philosophies will change the way you live your life! Trust me, see this movie!

Summary: My All Time Favorite Book
Review: This is my all time favorite book! I have probably read it ten or fifteen times. I will be forever grateful to my Elementary Principal who loaned me her copy and challenged me to read it. I have a friend for life in Anne Shirley and there really is hope for people who like to talk alot! This book is charming, suspenseful, and just wonderfully written. I enjoyed every page. I can hardly wait for my little girls to get older so that I can read it with them. I have read all of the books in the series but Anne of Green Gables is by far the best of the bunch!

Summary: Anne's Review

As you read this book you will follow an orphan girl named Anne. By mistake she gets taken to Green Gables. She was the best thing that could come to Green Gables. It is hard to imagine Green Gables without her. As you read you will follow Anne in her many jouneys at Green Gables. This book is based in the past. If you like excitment and are looking for a good book to read you will enjoy reading this book. I would recommend this book to you because I thought it was a great book!

Summary: Go ahead and buy this, because they're all great
Review: I found Anne of Green Gables in a heap of used books and brought it home for my daughters, ages 8 and 11. I never expected they would really like it -- the language seemed kind of flowery and old-fashioned, and the older one in particular is rather picky. But they loved it -- it's a perfect read-aloud book -- and I've had to find all the others at the library and read them aloud, one after the other. We're now on Anne's House of Dreams. They won't let me read anything else, but I actually don't really mind, because I like them too!

Summary: Wonderfullllllll!
Review: This book along with the whole series is incredible!! You will never forget them if you read them. You'll have to re-read them over and over again. They're soooo addictive. In this book Anne comes to Green Gables as a love-starved orphan hoping to have a 'home.' She immediately falls in love with Avonlea (as you will when you read it) at the age of 11. She finds out that Matthew and Marilla (the people adopting her) wanted a boy and her coming was a mistake. The first night she cries herself to sleep. However, they decide to let Anne stay and they never regret it. (You have to read the series to find why.) This book is so well written that over the years when Anne occasionally reminices about 'do you remember incidents' with her friends you'll find yourself laughing and saying 'I' remember. The many wonderful moments Anne spends in her room in the east gable and sad, changing times in her life (including her very first night) will be times and parts of Anne's life you'll never forget, as she seems to become part of you, and allows you to get a new insight onto life and people. Anne is a delightful girl. She'll become alive to you in this book so vivdly written and each book that follows will act as a passport to Anne's world. She'll become a friend. And then her children will too as they come alive in the last two books of the series. Read them. The Anne of Green Gables series is for ANYONE, young or old. Don't be put off by the age group recommended above, you'll fall in love with these series soon after you start reading this first book. A great book. . .an enchanting and INNcredible series.

Summary: A Beautifully Written Book!
Review: This book is amazing! It is about a girl named Anne Shirley. In Avonlea, Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert planned to adopted a boy to help out around the farm at Green Gables. But, waiting for Matthew is Anne. Matthew devolps a love for Anne on the ride back to Green Gables. Marilla on the other hand wassn't as kind and she made Anne very upset. Anne was sad becuase she would not get to stay at Green Gables. Marilla eventually decides to let Anne stay. Anne is very talkitive and makes many friends. She has a huge imagination and is always daydreaming! She makes many mistakes and is in the "Depths of Despair" if she makes a big mistake or can't do something. Anne has red hair and hates it. Anne gets along greatly at Green Gables! She is very smart and kind. This book has many feelings expressed and will have you laughing and crying throughout the book! I would recommend this book to any advanced reader or the abriged version to a younger reader, it is a wonderful book all around!
