Rating: Summary: Best SAT Book on the Market Review: Simply the best. If you're taking the SAT, buy this book along with 10 Real SATs and you're set. This book is funny while serious in improving your SAT score. People love to look at stats: I improved from 1260 to 1460 in 11 months with the use of this book, 10 Real SATs and by taking challenging courses in school. This book is worth the $$ just for the jokes, I mean, come on...
Rating: Summary: Disappointing. Review: The authors attempt to be amusing to the "average high school student" as well as prepare the student for the SAT, but this book never really manages to live up to its claims. It's basic concepts basically copy (with less success) those taught in "Cracking the SAT"--a much better use of your money! I purchased both books and while I found "Cracking the SAT" to be extremely helpful and straight-forward, "Up Your Score.." was very disappointing and at times, down-right annoying. I felt as though the book was written for the mentally incompetent--not the "average high school student"...the jokes and "we understand your pain" only stood to make me roll my eyes. Don't waste your money--buy the original--HELPFUL--review book ("Cracking the SAT") instead.

Rating: Summary: This book rocks! Review: This book got my score from a 1420 to a 1510, and my verbal alone went up 70 points! the vocab section is particularly good, and the section on Guessing is unique for a this type of book, although helpful.. plus it's really funny! i highly recommend!
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: This book is a great book even if just by humor's standards. I did not want to put this book down. Anybody who's read an SAT study book before knows that is rare.
Witty, informative, and not too long. I recommend buying this book and 10 Real SAT's. Then if you really want to go the extra mile pick up Barron's How to Prepare for the SAT 1. It's really long but super informative with flash cards and everything.
Buy this book!
Rating: Summary: The Brightest Rising Hip Hop Star Review: This book is a great resource for anyone taking the SAT. The writers of this book are obviously not boring old teachers but very cool teenagers led by the amazing Jason Abaluck. Reading this book helped me to score 200 points higher on the SAT. It will probably do the same for you, but even if it doesn't, you should still read it just so you have the experience of reading something by Jason.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: This book is a great way for anyone to polish their math / verbal skills for the SAT. The lax mood of the book makes the SAT seem less formidable, and maybe even "enjoyable"(yea right). Of course, everyone feels more comfortable knowing that the authors of the book scored higher than a 1500, which is pretty good. This book doesn't waste time providing futile practice tests which fail to simulate the actual SAT. Instead, they encourage you to buy 10 Real SATs, which is really the best way to help you improve. The book contains useful tricks and even some shortcuts. The only way this book could have possible been better is by having a section which accentuated on math shortcuts, but nothing is perfect. When the new SAT comes out in 2005, alot of people are going to wish that this book is still out there for the new one. Overall, great prep book, and there's no harm in buying it -- it's cheap and useful.
Rating: Summary: "awesome" Review: This book is awesome due to the fact that it is written by six top notch students with a sense of humor. The half of the puns and jokes are actually funny and will, just like everyone here said, keep you motivated (as far as you can go with a test prep book). 3 of the writters have scored 1600s and they know the ways to help you get a good score too, such as skills of concentration, preparation, food smuggling and cheating. This book is a definite recommend for anyone serious with the SATs. Get this book and a book with a lot of practice questions and you are set.
Rating: Summary: You MUST get this book. Review: This book is extremely helpful in mastering the SATs. This book helped me raise my score from a 1300 to a 1580. Use the vocabulary words they give you to make flash cards - the words they give really are on the test. I got an 800 verbal, these guys know what they are doing. Let them help you defeat the Evil Testing Serpent (ETS)!
Rating: Summary: HILARIOUS WHILE HELPFUL Review: This book is sooo funny!!! and in addition, it helps u with the SATs... how great is that? i bought it months before the test and it helped me a lot!! the book was funny while giving you hints that no other books give you. altough i recomend that u get either kaplan or barrons verbal and math workbooks so you can practice and stuff but this book has everything from dealing with annoying proctors to learning how to guess!! its great!! i think everyone should buy this book along with workbooks and 10 real sats and ur set!!
