Rating: Summary: In the blink of an eye lives are changed and sorrow follows. Review: The book "Tears of a Tiger," by Shannon Miller was an extremely good book. It wasn't very suspenseful though, but it still had a good moral. The book is about a few young boys who go out cruising in a car with a few beers to celebrate there winning victory one evening that changes all their lives dramatically. I liked the book mainly because it was dealing with real life situations. In the book and in real life, driving under the influence of alcohol causes many tragedies and may also tear people up to the point of committing suicide. I would definitely recommend this book for people of any age; it will really make you realize what drinking and driving can cause and how things can change in the blink of an eye.
Rating: Summary: Tears of a Tiger Review: "After a while the car started to sway, but I wasn't sureif it was me gettin' dizzy or if the car really was weaving across theexpressway." That describes the accident that killed RobbieJackson. After winning a high school basketball game,4 friendsdecided to celebrate by drinking and driving. The car crashed into awall and burst into flames. All but 1 survived, and that was Robbie. Iwould recommend this book to anyone who likes surprise endings. It wasdefinitely a page-turner and wasn't hard to concentrate on whilereading.I couldn't connect to any of the characters or events, but Idid like the fiction genre... None of the chapters ended incliffhangers, but the book wasn't boring at all.My ming never wanderedwhile I was reading it and the plot was really believable, because itcould happen in real life.I think alot of people would enjoy readingit, but I cannot connect it with another book I've read before.
Rating: Summary: Tears of a Tiger Review: This book is a very intensely emotional look into the life of a teenage boy who was the driver of the car in an acident in which his friend was killed. The accident was a result of drunk driving. The author uses various communication techniques such as newspaper articles, classroom assignments, telephone conversations, etc., to capture the main characters feelings of guilt and remorse. The novel explores the feelings and emotions experienced when someone dies as a result of an accident as well as those experienced with suicide. Another important part of the book is the main characters dealings with the effects of racism. This is a good book for any teenager to read - male or female. This would also be an excellent novel for use in curricular units dealing with alcohol abuse, suicide and racism.
Rating: Summary: Swaping Sad Stories Review: The book "Tears of a Tiger" can relate to many teenage lives. "Tears of a Tiger" is a novel wirtten by Sharon M. Draper and is about young man named Andy who was caught in a tragic car accident. In which his best friend Robert Washington died. Andy's life was spared in the accident, but he feels guilty that Robert died and feels it should have been him that died instead. Overall both my partner and I liked the book. The writer used a language that teens could understand. It also gave real life situations with real life problems. The book was very depressing, but kept the reader on their feet. I would recommened this book to any teenager. A. Rivera N. Berta

Rating: Summary: Tears of a Tiger Review: I read Tears of a Tiger, by Sharon M. Draper and I thought that it was a very well written, dramatic book. It was a bit sad and depressing. The style of writing was very unique and I think that a lot of teenagers nowadays can relate to the characters situations; and a lot of teenagers may have even found themselves in the main character, Andy's situation. This book also shows the dramatic consequence of driving under the influence and how this can affect someone and their family members and friends. I rated this book on a scale of one to five, five being the highest and I give Tears of a Tiger a three point five.
Rating: Summary: A Great Influental Story and Tearjerker Review: We liked Tears Of A Tiger because it had a great storyline, it teaches us the importance of friends and the consequences of drinking and driving. The characters seemed like real people that we could relate to. We also like how the author, Sharon M. Draper, wrote the book as if the characters were really talking, for example, they used slang like our generation does. She included letters and poems in the book and the dialogue was written like a script unlike most books that we have read before. At the end of the book things happen that you wouldn't even suspect earlier in the story, but we don't want to give away the ending. Overall we enjoyed Tears Of A Tiger, even though some parts it in were very depressing, not all of it was, some parts were even a little romantic or humorous. We would recommend Tears Of A Tiger to teenagers, both males and females.
Rating: Summary: BORED TO TEARS Review: Tears of a tiger was not my kind of book. Not ot say it was bad, I just did not like it.It was extremely boring.I grew increasingly tired of reading diary entries and homework assignments, which are used to tell the story.I was into the story right up to the tragic accident, after that it fell apart.Andy and his girlfriend keisha are always going to the mall and Mcdonalds (how exciting).I know he had problems but he was crying way to much for me to handle. He broke down in the mall,at Keisha's,at home, all incidences more then once. However there was an upside Andy's little bro, Monty, he likes blonde haired girls.Thats is a cool little dude. This book was extremely depressing and made me want to sleep. I would recomend this book to anyone who likes boring, depressing novels between the ages 11-16.
Rating: Summary: Sad Tears Review: "Tears of a Tiger" is a very compelling and sad story/book. It is about a high school basketball player named Andy Jackson who drunk and drived with three other friends. While driving, (Andy being the one driving) he crashed the car into a wall and although his two other friends got out, his best friend Robert Washington was stuck inside. Then the car blazed on fire and Andy and the others couldn't help get Robert out of teh car. From then on, Andy was haunted by the past and cannot get the hurt inside to go away. A very good book that I couldn't put down. Full of action, sadness, and a little romance, it is one of the best books out there! The crash left Andy stunned and made him lose everything he every hoped for. To make things worse, he was beginning to turn away from everything and every one around him. He turned his back on his friends, his parents and even his girlfriend. The reason Andy has so much pain and grief is because he can't help but feel responsible for Rob's death since he was the one driving and the one supplying the beer. Although teh crash had passed and it has been a while, Andy only gets hurt inside more and more each day. I would give this book a rating of 4 1/2 since I wish it was a little longer and more specific.
Rating: Summary: Poor Andy Review: Tears of a Tiger was a good book about teens and their very stressful lives. Andy, is the main character of the book who in the beginnig loses his best friend, Rob, in a car crash in wich he was driving drunk. Throughout the whole book, it is very depressing for Andy, and his friends who knew Rob. The book teaches teens about the fear, and consequences of drinking and driving. We reccomend this book to teens and people who want to be able to drive because it states and shows you what can happen when you drive drunk, and have people in the car with you.
