Summary: Sometimes Tigers Can Cry, Too
Review: Tears of a Tiger is an excellent book. IF I could give it more than Five stars, then I would. I especially love the way the story unfolds by the use of diary entries, poems, and other homework assignments. I felt like I really knew these kids...that these were people I remember from five years ago, when I was in high school. This book was riveting, and for me it was very moving. I really feel that students, especially in this day and age, should read books like this one. Tears of a Tiger weaves in so many issues...friendship, popularity, alienation, guilt, just to name a few. Wonderful story!

Summary: Surprising Ending, Makes Me Think
Review: I had to read this book at the end of my freshman class. I wasn't too excited about reading it, but one of my friend's had told me that it was good(Jamie Black). When I started this book the first thing I noticed was how slang words were used and tossed in for realism. I loved it. I thought the dialouge was so realistic and it made a connnection with the reader. Because there's too many books these days that try to get their point across with all these big words but you don't have to. This book proves that. Without a doubt one of the best books I've read in my lifetime, even though i'm not that old.

Summary: IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU
Review: Four friends celebrate a winning basketball game by drinking beer and wind up in a fiery inferno which results in one death. The driver has a difficult time accepting the death of a friend which he feels he has caused. This book provides an indepth examination of the relationships among the friends, family, and professionals at Hazelwood High School. This book offers a unique approach in writing; for example, the traditonal chapter format is replaced by classroom assignments, journals, personal letters, as well as conversations.

Summary: Tears of a Tiger-Reviewed
Review: A disturbing but realistic and thought-provoking young adult novel, Tears of a Tiger discusses such relevant and timely topics as racism, domestic abuse, drinking and driving, and depression. The novel has an attention-getting style consisting of a variety of writing styles (letters, newspaper clippings, diary entries, and homework assignments) that allows the individual voices of the charaters to be heard. Characters in this novel are realistic and well-developed with a wide variation in personality and experience.

Summary: Tears of a Tiger
Review: This book was about the some young boys celbraating the victory they had in the basketball game by driinking and driving. They geet into an acident and watch one of there close friend die in the fire traped in the car. It goees on to follow how the boy driving the caar deals withh the pain and loss of his friend and th reason he died. He does not know how to coup with this and getts depressed. His friends and family are there trying to support him but it does not help and he ends up comitting sucied at the end. It is a very tragic story that I think needs to be read by high school students. I think it teaches kids the consiquenses of drinking and driving, and all the people that aare affected by such a bad incident.

Summary: tears of a tiger
Review: Tears of a Tiger was a really good book. It's very realistic and really sad. It's kind of frustrating at times, because nobody understands Andy and nobody really tries to listen to him. It's kind of difficult to read sometimes because it's told through journal entries, newspapers, and some dialogue, but the dialogue is kind of different. Overall though, it's a really good book, and it doesn't take long to read.

Summary: Wow!
Review: This is a must read for anyone- especially teenagers. The content is so "real" to many adolescents- too real, dealing with love, death, guilt. I guess the content is applicable to all human beings, not just teenagers. The book is written in an original and exciting way- with journals, poems, class essays, narrative. It is a 5 star book!

Review: I thought Tears Of a Tiger was a sad, but truthful book. Icried when I was on the last page. This book has some very importantlessons in it.It is also a very deep and intense book.I really enjoyed reading it. I recently had a friend die and every time I picked up the book,I put it right back down because it related to my situation very well.My friends death made me suicidal, which also happened in the book. The character in the book killed himself. However now I know I did the right thing because I understand how the characters friends felt.I would recommend this book to anyone feeling pain from a death. It really helps to see another persons point of veiw.

Summary: A WONDERFUL BOOK FOR RELUCTANT READERS
Review: This is a book that almost any teenager will love. It addresses the effects of drinking and driving, child abuse, suicide, and teenage romance. As I read this book aloud to my students, they begged me to continue. "Read one more chapter, please!" they would plead. It was a wonderful teaching tool because of the various genre formats used. I would definitely reccomend this book to teenagers and middle/high school teachers.
