Rating: Summary: Fantastic Book Review: Tears of a Tiger is a story that deals with several issues that many young adults face today. It is a powerful story that tells about the price one pays for drinking and driving. In one horrific night, Andy Jackson's life is changed forever. This book does not sugar-coat any of the issues it presents. The story is told through newspaper articles, journal entries, homework assingments, letters, and conversations that bring the story to life. I think this book would be a great asset in any high school English class. I highly recommend it to all teachers and students at the high school level. I could not put the book down. It is a great model for different writing genres. This book would work well in units that deal with alcohol abuse, suicide, family relationships, and racism. This book would also be a wonderful model in a creative writing class. I feel anyone who reads it will enjoy it as much as I did. I gave this book 5 stars.

The story focuses on the way in which the boys attempt to deal with a fatal car accident in which they lost their best friend Robbie. Andy and Robbie played on the basketball team together. One night after they had successfully beaten their opponents, they decided to get drunk and go drive around to celebrate their victory. Everyone, except for Gerald, who did not go with them, and B.J., had been drinking. Andy was driving the car when, suddenly, they crashed into a wall. Andy, Tyrone, and B.J. got out of the car just in ti,e before the car burst into flames. Unfortunately Robbie was trapped inside. Andy blamed himself entirely for Robbie's death, and so did his friends. However, they were having to face at this point in time was nothing compared to what was soon to come. One day after a basketball game they were drinking and driving Andy's car, but they had an accident one of the guys died (Rob), after the accident Andy was thinking that it was his fault that Rob died in the accident. After the accident Andy began to get mad wit his friends (B.J, Tyron, Gerald, Rhonda, and Keisha), and with his family. One day he got mad with Keisha, and they broke up, after they broke up Andy was sadder then ever and he was thinking wrong things. If you want to know what he was thinking you should read the book. Rating: Summary: Very Pleased Review: The beginning of this book instantly has you craving for more. The book is very realistic with the slang and the everyday situations. The book starts off depressing and ends depressing (really the whole book is drepressing). I really liked this book. I was forced to read this book for a grade, but once I read it I was happy I had to. I really really recommened this book. It shows you how you should not drink and drive and also to take notice to depressed friends because you never know if they are thinking about commiting suicide.
