Rating: Summary: Great book, bad ending Review: I though The Giver was a very good book, with an intresting setting. The only thing I didn't like was that the ending was pretty lackluster.
Rating: Summary: A Really Good Book Review: I thought "The Giver" by Luis Lowry was a good book. It's about a place where there is no pain, joy, or any other feelings and your whole life is decided for you. There is a boy named Jonas that gets chosen at the age of 12 to be the receiver of all the memories. But when he receives the memories he decides he doesn't like it doesn't want to live there anymore. So he tries to find a way to escape into the real world but its never been done before where he lives.
Rating: Summary: Steve Hi! Review: I thought "The Giver" was a good and interesting novel. Its setting was interesting because it took place in a perfect world called the Utopia, where everything was the same. It was a good fiction novel because the setting is different from our world. I like how the author keeps you thinking after each chapter, and makes you want to keep reading. I also like all the suspenful events that take place throughout the novel. Most of all, I like the message the author gives being "Does a perfect world exist".

Rating: Summary: My thoughts on The Giver Review: I thought it was an excellent book on a possible futuristic society. It's sad the way that they do not feel or truly live for fear or being different from society. I hope that our society is never forced to endure such an existance. It shows what a society without individualism would be like and the result of forgetting our past. It is definatly a book worth reading.
Rating: Summary: I liked it. Review: I thought it was okay. Jonas's world was weird with there being no color or animals. His dream was sick. About Fiona and the house of the old. And Rosemary being the Giver's daughter was unusal. I wouldn't like living in his world, with releasement and all. When they released the smaller twin in the forehead, I was about to cry.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED it! Review: I thought it was the worst book in the whole wide world, but after I caught on I started to like it. After my teacher finished reading it he said to give it a grade 1-6 (1 being the worst) I gave it a six!
Rating: Summary: I liked the book The Giver. Review: I thought tha book The Giver was a good book. It was interesting to thinkabout our community and how much better it is than Jona's. In tha book The Giver, Jonas lived in a community where everything was the same. They can't see color or pick their own jobs. Communities today are a lot different. The ending was a lot better than the beggining because Jonas could die and second. Every move he makes counts. The beginning just explained what his community was like and it got boring after a while.
Rating: Summary: The Giver Review: I thought that "The Giver" was a very good book. I liked it because it kept you thinking a lot and was very interesting and exiting. The part I don't like is the confusing words and sentences it uses. I also don't like how it lets you decide what happens at the end. I would have liked it a lot more if it would answered the questions that you would want to know when reading a book, like what the noises were when they were sledding down the hill and where they sledded to etc.
