Summary: it is very interesting and great book
Review: i think the giver is one of the best books i ever read. i was only 11 when i read it so there were some parts i did not quite understand. i read it again when i was 12 and it made much more sense to me. i think this book is great for young adults and i'm sure i'm going to keep reading it again and again.

Review: I think The Giver was a very interesting book written by Lois Lowry and well written, even though she wrote it when her dad was in the hospital losing his memory. It makes us appreciate what we have in life and what Jonas did not have. It has a lot of the same ideas from the book I Am David like how they both escaped from places to get elsewhere.
It is like the movie Pleasantville, they are both in black and white like the olden day's. I would not recommend this to young children because it has some bad scenes but it would be okay for teachers in grade 7 and above. I would highly recommend this book to people it is a very good book. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed the book it was very interesting.

Summary: Perfect or Not?
Review: I think The Giver was an excellent book. I would recommend that book to everyone. Lois Lowry did a great job in describing the details and keeping the readers attention. I don't think I lost interest once; it was hard to put the book down for one second. I disagree with what other readers had to say. People say that the society Jonas lived in was perfect? After thinking about it, I don't see a perfect society in my mind. I didn't like the fact that everyone had bikes instead of cars. What's the reason for that? Everyday was the same weather. I know some people like different weather than others, but a little variety wouldn't hurt. Also, another reason for its imperfect existence is the purpose of release. I find that cruel the way that they do that to people; I don't find that perfect at all. I'm an active person and I don't like how everyone in the story was lazy. It seemed as if they were all slaves and they had no freedom. The characters had no feelings about life. In today's society you have to work hard to achieve a perfect family, house, and lifestyle, but there isn't anyone who has a perfect life. Everyone has some problems or difficulties in life, but in The Giver, everything was good. I know today's society is out of control, but I think the community in the story is torture. Life is an adventure, but not in The Giver. Everything we go through in life serves a purpose, so think about if the town is perfect or not. The Giver is an excellent book and I recommend you read it.

Review: I think the novel "The Giver" written by Lois Lowry was quite a good one. At first,it was confusing, because it sometimes was difficult to understand the context and the strukture of the community. Later it became more and more interesting. It was interesting to see in which way people can be controlled. I would like to know how the story really ends, because there is an open end. If you are interested in Science Fiction, then you should read this novel!

Review: I think there are many reasons to read this book. The story takes place in a whole new world, where everything is perfect and there are rules for everything. In the community, all choices are made by a Commitee of Elders, who decides the future of the community. I recommend reading this book to everyone, because itÂ's very interesting and itÂ's narrated from a different perception of the future, where everything is so organized and perfect that there is no liberty. A very good book.

Summary: I loved this book from cover to cover!
Review: I think this book must be read by all! Louis Lowry has become one of my best writers. This science-fiction story has meaning, unlike most books today. I first read this as a class book and couldn't put it down. One night I even sneaked out of my bedroom to read the book! I do like thinking about what I've read, but the ending isn't self-explanatory.
