Summary: The Giver
Review: I really liked this book. It started off a bit slow at first but after awhile the pace started to pick up. It was usetting and sad though to see how terrible and boring it would be to live in a world without choices, differences, and love. I didn't completely understand the ending but if I was in Jonas's place I would have done the same thing that he did in the end.

Summary: Truely original.
Review: I really liked this book. The plot was so original that no one has even come close to having a similar plot. It made me appreciate discisions and memories, and the fact that the way we live is very free.

Summary: This is a good book for kids who like fantasy
Review: I really liked this book. This book is pure fantasy. The people in Jonas's (the main character) community have never felt pain or sorrow. That's where the Giver comes in, he holds all those memories. At the Ceromony Of Twelve the twelve year olds get assigned a job. Jonas's job was to be the Giver...

Summary: This book was great
Review: I really liked this book.(I read this book in a classroom) I have to admit that at first I was board with the book, but as time passed and i paid more attention to what the reader was reading, I got really into the book and i could really relate to what the author was trying to say in each chapter. I recommend this book to...well, everyone because it will leave you with many thoughts and will make you enjoy the world as it is, even with the major problems we face in everyday life. I was really touched by the main character's courage and his determination. He sets an example for us all. Please take my advise into consideration and read this book.

Summary: An excellent lesson in courage and uncontrollable spirit
Review: I really loved this book for many reasons. The characters are very well defined, especially Jonas. His bravery and his courage inspire me. This book makes me wonder how bad our world became that taking away people's civil liberties was preferred. The reader experiences a "utopian society" and on the surface it seems quite nice. No criticism, violence, hunger, or hatred, these reasons may be why people would welcome such a world. However, as the novel progresses, the reader sees that this type of society comes at a price. This is a world without sunshine or colors, music, or love. Every event of your life is carefully planned without your consent. In this world, if a three year old mistakenly asks for a smack (meaning snack) he gets one. This book makes me blissfully happy that I live in a society, with all it's flaws, that gives everyone the oppurtunity to choose for themselves. (Whether it be simply what color socks to wear that day, or who or what they would like to become and what they want to do with their life.) This book makes you realize that others are not so lucky. This is a wonderful book, and it's characters show that courage and spirit cannot be controlled.

Summary: This book is awesome!
Review: I really loved this book! It's great and it shows that being unique is great! I feel sorry for Jonas. This is really a great book, you have to read it! It shows that memories have to be shared and that faimily is so precious! Everyone that I know loves it!

Summary: Thought-provoking, a one-sitting reader
Review: I really loved this book. It was very harsh and cold, but made me appreciate love and warmth. I wanted someone in the story to do something against the rules, but they didn't. I wanted them to rebel, but they didn't. It made me appreciate imperfections. It was one of the most though-provoking books I've ever read.

Summary: Loved it
Review: I really really liked this book. There has been only a few books that have touched me in a way that this book did. I thought that the author has a wonderful creative imagination and I would have never thought of it in a million years.
