Summary: The Best book of all times!
Review: I just wanted to say that this is the best book i've ever read, and the thing is that i really dislike reading. This is one of the few books I enjoyed. I read it last year in 8th grade and it is a truely touching and moving book. The world that Lowry creates is so overwhelming it totaly envelops you in the reading. I would recomend this book to anyone i love it!

Review: I know this may strike you as strange, but my first impression of the book The Giver was that the community was some kind of cult. Almost like communism. It makes sense if you think about it. The community was all the same and those who were different were "released." Although the book wording itself was easy to read, the context was hard to fully understand. The most difficult part for me was when the author described the characters age and the group in which they belonged to because of their age. However, while reading the book it got me thinking about a lot of different thoughts. Like, "Oh wow, what if this was really true, how would I act?" The Giver was definitely a twist to what I normally read. You know, those books that have you acting different because of something that had happened in the book and you think that it could happen to you. So all in all, my opinion on this book is mixed. I like how the author described things. I give her credit because it must have been a tough book to describe so people could understand it. I know I am having trouble just trying to describe my thoughts on the book itself. Yet I didn't really like the story line. It struck me as weird, confusing, and slightly boring. The only thought I had after finishing book was "This would make a good episode for The Twilight Zone."

Review: I like the Giver because it was interesting with the community compared to ours. It was also different when they made the rules like, sameness and no color or feelings but in real life God is the only one who can make the changes.

Review: I like this book because it is a good book to read.I recommend this book because it's good book to read because at the end of this book you may think a lot of things that had happen to Jonas and to Gabriel.You may think that they die, that they find a family, or that they survive.So I hope you could get this book someday and read it.

Review: I like this book but the ending could have been better. Maybe there can be a sequel like the Return of Jonas in a different book.We rated it out of 4 stars because at the ending lost a star. The whole class read it together and lots of questions asked.The book was very descriptive and very intersting.

Review: I liked "The Giver", by Louis Lowry very much. I recomend it to everyone. It is about a perfect world where everyone is the same exept for Jonas, the main charecter. I liked the idea of a perfect world, but his was not perfect in my opinion. Jonas thinks outside the box and tries to understand the reality of his life. I think we as Americans should try to do this also. We thought that no one could harm us, and Jonas thought that his life would always be the same. We were wrong as was Jonas. If there ever is a sequal it will answer many questions.

Review: I liked how this book entered you into a world that you don't know of. The rules, jobs, daily life and the mystery made you wonder. I did get confused though at times by trying to figure out all the things that some of the jobs this group of people required and the mystery of things these people didn't have like us.For example, they don't have color, black and white is all they see. I would recommend this book to the type who like curious, and "in the future" books.

Review: I liked reading this book. It was very easy reading and has some little brain teaser like ideas that make you think about things. I felt that Lois Lowry has some very interesting messages to share with the readers. I think it is a book that almost anyone would like to read.
