Rating: Summary: One of Lois Lowry's best of all time Review: This book is GREAT! I didnt want to stop reading it.The suspense is unbearable. I've told all of my friends about this great book and they enjoy it too.
Rating: Summary: Wow Review: This book is great. I have read it many times over the years. It is one of my all-time favorite books. The world Lowry creates is so believable and realistic I can see the future turning out that way.
Rating: Summary: This is the BEST book ! Review: This book is great. I read it twice in one day. I couldn't even take a break either time. It really started me thinking.I think a place with no wars or divorce would be great, but Jonas was missing so much. He had no idea what things like color and sunshine where. Well, at least until he met The Giver. He found out about pain, too. This book made me think, which I like.Everyone should read it.
Rating: Summary: The Giver Review: This book is incredible! I enjoyed every minute reading it. Some people say that the ending is unclear, but I loved the ending. It lets people make up their own ending. For example: some people think Jonas dies in the end, while others think he really finds Elsewhere and continues his live there. I think people could start reading the book in 6th grade, so that there are a lot of different analysis and not just those of older people who maybe think a bit more.
Rating: Summary: this book is great Review: this book is long if you read it by yourself, but I hade a tape so if you want to read it fast you should get the tape. I think that you should read it yourself then you understand it better. I think that you should read this book because it has a very good story line. Also it can make you think of things you wouldin't think of.
Rating: Summary: A Beautifully Written Book Review: This book is my favorite of any I have ever read. It iscaptivating, sad, happy and descripitive all in one. This is a mustread for everyone. I can compare it to favorites like the Harry Potter series, and "Girl Interrupted" by Susanna Kaysen. This book is amazing and something everyone should experience. END
Rating: Summary: This Book leaves a great image on life! Review: This book is my most cherished book I own.It is such a movingbook that make you realize how one person can make the diference inlife. This book made me cry because it moved me so much. It is about a boy nameb Jonas who lives in this society were there is no pain no love atlest no feelings they can remember. At the age of twelve Jonas had gotten asgined the job of reciver of memories. Can Jonas still live in a world without feelings?
Rating: Summary: This book is an interesting book. Review: This book is not easy to understand when you read it for the first time. It is an interesting and ideal book when you get to understand it. I think this book is good for the stuudents to read because it makes you imagine what the world would be like if we had everything planned for us by the people that we don't even know. I, personally like this book. This helped with my vocabulary and grammer. It was really nice and intersting but a little sad at the end. So I would give this book 4 stars.
Rating: Summary: A creepy book Review: This book is not for everyone as there are some dark and scary parts. The idea's are original, Jonas is a good main character and the ending is ambiguous which makes the reader think. A very interesting book.
Rating: Summary: Caution Review: This book is not for everyone. My child had nightmares after reading chapter 19 which I would easily rate R for graphic detailed violence. For parents who take their responsibility of monitoring the material their children are exposed to, be sure ahead of time that your child will not be emotionally upset by the "how - to" description of the actions. In my opinion, there are no redeeming qualities to this book. My child could not evaluate anything to do with the book because she was obsessed with the murder of an innocent new-born baby. While other people may say that it's not real, the subject of euthanasia is real. I would never recommend this book, however, I would caution parents, and teachers alike to evaluate the person for whom the book is being selected and determine if he/she will be negatively affected by it ahead of time.
