Summary: Excellent Four Star Book!
Review: THE GIVER is an edge of your seat reader, which will not alllow you to put it down. It is a book in which describes the life of a 12 year old boy, who lives in a future community with his family unit. He is assigned a job which is one among the community, and he is trained by the giver. The community in which this excellent book takes place in, has climate control, where it is never hot, and it is never cold. The've never seen rain;the've never seen snow. Read and find out about this good but bad, adventrous story, and like I said;you will never want it to end.

Summary: Haley Wainaright's book review
Review: The Giver is an excellent book and I would recomend it to everyone. This book is about a young boy who lives in a world where there are no decisions or choices. Their jobs are chosen for them at the age of twelve and Jonas, the main character, is chosen to be the Receiver. Only one person is chosen to be the receiver. What Jonas learns about the world where people can make decisions is extremely painful, but also joyous. Find out about why Jonas experiences these feelings and what happens to him next by reading the Giver, an awesome book!

Summary: The Giver
Review: The Giver is an excellent book for all ages. It is very interesting and makes you read straight through to the end. The story is about a twelve year old boy named Jonas. Jonas lives in a futuristic society that is "perfect." The community is controlled by sameness and everyone is exactly alike. The people have no recellection of their past and have no feelings. They have never experienced love or hate. Though it may sound ideal, as you read, Jonas discovers through his highly respected and important job that perhaps things could be better. In his job he must keep the memories of the past so that the rest of the community does not have to experience them. Despite his memories of death, war, hunger, and such, he begins to realize that the good memories overpower the bad ones. In his desperation from loneliness and frustration Jonas makes a drastic decision, that will change the lives of the community forever. I really enjoyed this book, as I have read it more than once. The only downside that I found to it was the ending. I have never liked endings that leave you hanging, as this one does, and I wish that there was a sequal. But, in general, I recommend this book to people of all ages. Enjoy!

Summary: The Giver
Review: The Giver is an excellent book that can introduce children to reading at a higher level of comprehension. It is a challenging and interesting story that will captivate and intrigue both children and adults. If you know a child who enjoys science fiction or one who just enjoys a facinating reading experience, The Giver would be an excellent choice.

Summary: Great book, strange ending!
Review: The Giver is an excellent book to read. It was kind of hard to get into the book at first, but after I knew what was going on, I loved it. Lois Lowry wrote this book superbly. The ending, however, was very strange. Maybe it's just me, but "maybe it was just an echo" doesn't sum up what happened to Jonas. I don't understand the connection of the ending to how "The Giver" in the book told how he had the capacity to hear beyond his regular limits.

Summary: I Highly Recommend This Book!!!
Review: The Giver is an excellent book, in my opinion. It is about a twelve-year-old boy named Jonas who lives in a supposedly perfect world-no color, no feelings, no changes or decisions of any kind. Spouses and jobs are chosen by the commitee. Jonas is chosen to receive the memories of the past, of happiness and pain, of feelings and color. When he learns of the past, he finds he cannot live how he lives, with no emotions or feelings, so he decides to set off on a mission to free himself-and his community-from the world with no feelings.

Summary: THE GIVER
Review: The Giver is an excellent book. It is not the best book for younger readers. I did not understand it at first. Then I got with the picture. It is about a young boy who is about to get his job. Then he finds out he has the most important job in the community. He is told he would receive extreme pain. He was very worried until he started. It turned out he just had to receive memories. Some were very painful. He turns out enjoying it. It is a confusing, but excellent book. I think older people would like it. I really enjoyed it.

Summary: The Giver Review
Review: The Giver is an excellent book. This book is filled with happiness, sadness, joyful tmes, and hard times. Jona is the main character in the book. He is a young boy turning into a twelve and recieves a special assignment of the Keeper of Memories. He starts his training and soon his teacher dies. Now, he is the official Keeper of the Memories. Jona has his parents, a sister, and a new baby brother. The only thing in the book is his new baby brother isn't developing right. So they have to give him one year to see if he will develop. If not, he will be sent back and they will receive a new baby. This is a sad part of the book. When I read that I thought about how people do that. These people live in a world where there is not any pain, fear, or war. the people work together and never fight. They watch over each other. The book is very interesting. The way the people live is amazing. The kids are called by things likes eight's, or twelve's. This is like there age. They can do certain things once they turn a certain age. Like Jona's sister Lily turned into an eight and you can start to volunteer at places. Lily would like to volunteer at the nursery in the book. Her mom says only volunteer work. You aren't respected as much if that is your assignment once your get older. For Jona since he is turning into a tweleve they receive an assignment to do for the rest of his life. The world the people live in here is different, neat, and also so caring. There world is very different from ours. The world is peaceful. The people work on the assignments they are given; and they also watch and love their families very much. the Giver is an excellent book to read, and it is a good recommendation.

Summary: The Giver
Review: The Giver is an excellent newbery that portraits a world unlike our own. That world is a well organized society where people are put into jobs by the Elderly and a happy, peaceful place. However, this world is dull in color and sound. This is a place that needs color and music. It also needs it's people to sense feelings and even weather: happiness, coldness, and disaster. A boy named Jonas has been chosen to hold these memories of the past, for his job is the Receiver ,from the Giver (pervious Receiver). But, now he sees how his world is dull in appearance and understanding, he's goimg to change it.
I highly recommend this book because of it's text. This book has adventure and lots of cliffhangers, which will make you want to just keep reading. I believe, one of the most important things this book is trying to help us understand our world. There are still many thing we haven't experienced like real starvation in poor countries or being bombed by planes.
The Giver has helped me really understand our world.
My favorite part of this newbery is when Jonas is thinking about what he has learned as a Receiver. He started to think about the world's past (our world). He compared it to his world to our's and found out one thing: the other people in the community have no experience with real feelings. Once, his sister said she was very angry for a boy cutting inline for a slide. However, she has no idea what anger is, like Jonas. She felt only shallow impatience, not true anger. This is why it is my favorite part.
