Almost all books are boring at the beging, right? but why are they boring? because the author has to describe the life and problems of the main charecter. Summary: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Review: Through this one amazing book, Laurie Halse Anderson displays the hatred and hardships of high school. Every word makes you want to read on. She writes in poetic form, and all of her words flow together perfectly. The ending of the book is so unexpected and breathtaking, you will somehow be changed after reading this touching story, Speak. Anderson does a wonderful job showing the life of a teenage girl just getting out of high school. The brats, the sweethearts, the nerds and the people that are just trying to fit in really bring out the character in the story. Not only those people, but also the secret that Melinda lets out at the end of the story. This well-written book was a delight to read, I think all teenagers and adults should have the chance to read Speak.

Summary: A rewarding read
Review: I read this book because it was recommended to me by several people. When I bought it, I started reading it on the way home from the bookstore and I couldn't put it down. Anderson's style makes you want to read more. Her protagonist is a character that all teenage girls (like myself) can relate to. The plot is a good one and could have been corny, but Anderson does such a good job with it and manages to teach a lesson at the end without sounding too preachy. All teenager girl should read this book.

Summary: Speaking without words
Review: Speak is a book about a teenage girl who is an outcast, after an unknown mistake she doesn't reveal until the end of the story. She is very troubled and lonely as none of her friends want to be near her anymore. She starts to make friends with a girl named Heather, who helps her get through lunch unoticed. As the story unfolds, she gets closer and closer to telling her secret.
In my opinion Speak is one of the better books I have read during my life. I enjoyed the humerous and mysterious outlooks that the girl, Melinda, has on life and the teenage population. She expresses strongly her beliefs on school, cliques, and life. Through her sarcastic eyes, a new world can be seen.
The theme of the story seems to be about what can be said without speaking. The book is extreemly funny and great for someone who likes to be kept wondering. It is also, however, a book that will shock you in the end, far from its humerous beginning.

Summary: ****Great Book****
Review: I loved this book!! I am only 12 years old right now, 11 when I read it, and I still loved it. It isnt a fancy book with long words, just real teen thoughts. It is written in a way a true teenager would write it. It is fun to read Melindas thoughts, and in some parts you will cry, and some you will laugh; it's a GREAT book. I highly recommend it!!

Summary: very touching, a must 2 read for anyone!!
Review: This book is amazing. It didn't let my attention off of it through out the whole thing. I think it is very touching because it made me cry by the end. A girl gets raped during a party while she was drunk, and then hides her fear for the guy who happens to go to the same school. It involves friendships, teachers, parents, and her passion to draw. Its AMAZING, one word describs it all, and im not just saying that. YOU HAVE TO GO READ IT.

Summary: AWESOME BOOK, AND FAST READ!!!!
Review: Wow! For a first novel, this was GREAT!!! It was a very fast read and very smooth and easy to understand. Being a teen my self, I was able to relate to alot of the things that the character was going through and experiencing. I loved this book though. It was a very real, true story that was heart-felt. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to read a book that will touch them in many ways. Great job, Laurie Anderson!
