Rating: Summary: I couldn't put this book down! Review: This book was one of the greatest books I have ever read. I read this book in a little more than a day because I wanted to know what happened to Melinda (the main character) since Anderson doesn't give away the entire conflict in the beginning. I'm a ninth grader like Melinda, and I could relate to her feelings throughout the book. Even though I've never been in a situation like hers, I understood and felt all of the emotions that she felt. For the past two days as I've been reading "Speak" the book was all I could think about. Read this book, and I know you'll love it.

Rating: Summary: Speak Review Review: I did not like speak as much as i thought i would. I felt as though the book was boring and did not seem to have much setting change. The one part of the book i liked was the ending because of the twist it had. I did not think that the plot of the book about a girl who calls the cops on a party in the summer that she lost all of her friends over could have been written better. Overall i did not like this book.
Rating: Summary: the book speaks for itself. Review: Speak is the best book I have ever read. Laura hales Andersons first novel was a hit in my book. Melinda is a freshman who used to be the most popular girl in school. Now, she's the loneliest. After calling the cops a senior's end of the year party and getting all of her friends in trouble, she is looked down upon as the girl who busted the party. She has no way to speak for herself, so she communicates through art. Through the first 2 "semesters" of the book, Melinda talks about the beast. Andy Evans. He's the reason why she called the cops. I never thought that the reason was true, until I finished.Suspenseful and true. These are the only word that can be used to describe this book besides fabulous. Speak is the one book that every teenager can relate to. The story of the popular people and the out casts. The jocks the skaters the Martha's. All of the stereotypes that are used through the high school years. The story of the book is what convinced me to keep on reading. I never put the book down.
Rating: Summary: Well Written and makes you think, October 20, 2003 Review: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson is very good and makes you think about the story. Melinda got raped at a summer party and called the police. At the beginning of school all her friends hate her. She doesn't talk and the only place to express her feelings is in the art room. Melinda has a very trouble some year, which just makes things worse. This is a fascinating book and very well written. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to think about what they read and wants to read a good book.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE the BOOK Review: Speak by Laurie Anderson, was a book i could never put down. My body shivered in fright, and smiled very bright. Melinda a main charecter was an outcast, no one wanted to talk to her, sit next to her. She was a loner and a gonner in this school. She was like this because she called the cops on the last day of summer party. She couldn't tell why, she couldn't even rememmber what happened. Then when she started taking art classes she found a way to tell people what happedned with out using words. The author had great intentions for the readers one of them was don't be afraid to do something even though people are going to hate after. I recommend this book to people who like real life things and have something hard and long to think about. Will Melinda tell her secret. What is her secret. Those questions you will have to find out by reading the book.
