Summary: Entertainment is all in pink
Review: Girls, is senior prom, what you do??? Go!!!

Not for Mia, Mia is only a freshman, even though Michael is a senior and can take her there, but, he is really against proms and stuff. So Mia, not telling Michael about the "I wanna go to prom" spends the whole time in this book hoping that Michael would take her to the prom dance so she can wear her lovely pink gown.

Summary: The BeSt Of Them All!
Review: I couldn't wait for this book to come out. The day I got it I stayed up well past midnight to finish it. I really like how the author made sure that you weren't left hanging and wondering what was going to happen next.

Summary: Poor showing by Cabot
Review: I don't know if it's because Meg Cabot has lost her touch (which may be the reason all of Mia's adventures are becoming predictable and overdone) or what, but I was very disappointed by Cabot's 5th installment in this series. The Princess Diaries initially drew me in because I could believe Mia as a real 14-year-old, but as the series is progressing, Mia seems to be regressing. In Princess in Pink, Mia's search for self-actualization (which at this point has slowed to a snail's pace) seems to entail acting like a sheltered sixth grader and involves a tiresome amount of CAPITAL LETTERS and exclamation points (...). The scenes that used to be fresh and funny have become stale and are bordering on the absurd. Mia needs to begin realizing some of her potential or I'm going to begin self-actualizing myself away from this previously charming, and currently pedantic, series.

Summary: a bit of a disappoitment
Review: I have been following this series since it first came out, and I have to say I enjoyed the first 3 but was disappointed in the 4th one. I was hoping that Mia would mature a little more and stop obsessing about her boyfriend all the time. Sadly, she seems to have become more shallow and self-centered then ever in this book. (...). I found the whole sub-plot with Jangbu not very interesting. Mia, of course, is too wrapped up in her own life and her own supposed problems to get very involved with Jangbu's situation, although he was fired because of her grandmother. At one point she even says something along the lines of "I have my own problems, if he were in my situation, I'm sure he'd understand." I think losing a job is more important than worrying about whether your boyfriend will ask you to a dance.

I might have enjoyed this book more if I hadn't been familiar with Mia's character from the other books, and wouldn't have realized how much she changed. Meg Cabot still has an engaging way of writing, and a knack for picking up how real teenagers talk. Perhaps Mia is just going through a particularly whiny phase. I will probably read the next book in the series to see if she grows up a bit, but this book was disappointing.

Summary: MLY's book review
Review: I liked this book, especially I enjoy knowing someone else thinks that Molly Ringwald's dress in 'Pretty in Pink' looked like a trainwreck. Cabot is completely consistent in her style,so if you enjoyed the first few books of this series this one is a certain win. Obviously these books aren't for everyone, you have to have a certain amount of self-humour in order to connect with Mia and see the humour of the situations she is involved in.
I'd also so these books aren't necessarily for some of the youngest readers as she does talk about 'getting to second base' quit a bit.
It is good to see the effect Mia is having on those closest to her in this book, most noteably her Grandmere, and finally Lilly has to admit she was wrong about something!!

Summary: An improvment on the series
Review: I loved the 5th book in the Princess Diaries series! I have the whole series and I could read them over and over and never get bored! Mia is the typical (well kind of with the exception of the whole Princess thing) 15 year old girl, who has a boyfriend who hates the idea of going to the prom. He says he would rather go bowling. Through the whole book Mia is basically trying to get Michael Moscovitz to ask her to the prom. Does she succeed? Does Michael finally ask her to the prom? Find out by reading The Princess Diaries V: Princess in Pink, it is definately worth reading. Don't forget to check out Princess Diaries 2 Royal Engagement coming only on the big screen!

Summary: Yeah!
Review: I really liked this book! Mia, the main character, is so interesting through this novel! At first I was somewhat turned off to the book because all it seemed to focus on was the Prom. However, this is probably one of the more complex books, and possibly my favorite out of the series. We see the love that Michael and Mia share, a close friendship break up (between Lily and Mia... at least for a time) and some other shocking things from Lily. This book was more well-rounded than the others, which made it so interesting. It is an easy read- much like 1-4, I think just about everyone could read it in a couple hours tops. And best of all, it has the happy ending!

Summary: Amazing Princess
Review: I started reading the Princess Diaries books a few years ago, and I just fell in love with them! In this book a lot happends. Mia's mom is expecting a baby soon, there's a strike started by Lilly, princess lessons from Mia's grandmother, and more exiting things. I garantee you that once you start reading, you won't be able to stop! So pick up this book and other Princess Diaries books to find out more about Princess Mia.

Summary: Couldn't put it down
Review: I was worried also about if the 5th book was going to be any good. It was so good i just couldn't put it down. I cant wait untill the next one coming out. I highly recomend it to all teens because it is about family, boyfrinds, love, and high school.

Summary: Another great 'Princess Diaries' book
Review: I'm a huge fan of Meg Cabot's "Princess Diaries" series, and was excited to read her newest one, PRINCESS IN PINK.

Mia is back and lots of things in her life are changing: her mom is almost ready to have a baby, Lilly's relationship with Boris isn't going very well, and she is absolutely dying to go to the prom with Michael. There's only one problem with her prom fantasy though - Michael doesn't want to go. He thinks proms are "lame." Mia's grandmother (the dreaded Grandmere) is causing more trouble. Her stubborn ways have caused a huge uprising in New York City and she won't take responsibility for her actions.

PRINCESS IN PINK is hilarious. After the fourth book (Princess in Waiting), which was a bit disappointing, PRINCESS IN PINK renews my faith in Cabot's books. Highly recommended to fans of Cabot's other work.

Oberall grade - A
