Summary: Book started out a little slow BUT...
Review: did pick up towards the middle and end. The main character was s bit full of herself and too annoying, someone I never would have gotten along with in the real world and frankly I don't know who would have. There were a few inconsistencies about NJ, I didn't appreciate how much she ragged on the state, like northern NJ was representative of the entire state. I won't mentioned Oradell, but it's hardly the dump she made out to be. And really being from NJ, I don't know anyoine who is ashamed to mention they are from the Garden State let alone mentioning they commute. It's like every fourth person working in Manhatten commutes from NJ. But whatever, I will overlook that. Also she mentioned as she travels into the Lincoln Tunnel by car she sees the Empire State Building, I don't see how when the building is behind you. There were some grammer and spelling mistakes, I just think being a published book it should have been edited much better. I'm no editor, but even as a simple reader I noticed mistakes.

It was an entertaining story and I did enjoy the storyline, but sometimes it tried to border on "sex in the City" I think.

Well, enough from my soapbox, I will step down now and let the next person review and I'm sure will do a better jon than me.

Summary: Great Book...Hard to put down
Review: Eve is a character that we all can relate to. Her friends are hilarious, her outlook on her job is even funnier. She had me wanting to reach in the book and slap Lacey Matthews like she wanted to. I lauged out loud a lot on this book, waking up my poor husband in the process.
She is a very likable, funny character even though some of her actions after her co-worker gets fired (to Rob) is a little out there. But this was on the her brink of a breakdown.
I didn't want to put this book down and have been late to work from staying up too late reading it.
The only thing I wished could've been different is her relationship end with Rob King. I liked the character and I think they shoul've ended up together. It could've worked especially after she quit.
Overall, this book is a perfect example of great Chick Lit without the obligatory Bridget Jones story line like so many others.

Summary: Witty, casual, incredibly true!
Review: Eve is a protagonist any 20-something can completely relate to, whether or not she is a city girl or not. Ariella Papa constantly uses witty humor that keeps you turning the page, and all the experiences shared in the novel capture the emotions almost every post-college single female has experienced. A great novel, and worth reading!

Summary: On the Verge is a great book.
Review: Eve Vitali is a young woman who is looking for love, happiness and a better life, but she just can't seem to get things right so she feels like nothing right is ever going to happen to her.

Eve works at Prescott Magazines, but working for the magazine isn't as glitzy as she expected. She works for Bicycle Boy and is an assistent. All in her life seems to be going downhill, but things will slowly change for her.

Eve's friend Rosanne moves to New York and she and Eve decide to get there own apartment, Once in New York Eve seems to much happier then living in New Jersey. Eve's best friend Tabitha is riot to be around, she is always dating new men, going to the latest resterants and clubs and just a lot of fun to be around.

This books was a really good look at a younger woman's life. Most of the books in this genere are about woman in there late 20's or early 30's. It was nice to see a book about a young 20 year old who is looking for what a lot of woman out there are looking for.

Overall the story moved well and I really enjoyed how the author wrote.

Summary: Classic Chick Lit
Review: Eve Vitali is definetly a girl that 20somethings with dead end jobs will identify with! Her prediciment (mind numbingly boring work, and will there ever be anything else) is one that a LOT of people will relate to. It is evident that Papa is speaking from experience and wanting to reassure that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
The plot is not groundbreaking but fresh and believable. It's nice that someone is writing about real life situations however dull they may be and making them funny and interesting.

This is not your usual New York chick-lit style novel where the main characters whole outlook on life is men. The relationships that Eve builds throughout the book are slightly awkward but extremely amusing. But most of the laughs come from Eve's friend Tabitha. She brings a light hearted feel to the novel and a fresh approach to body image in an extremely body concious society.

I definelty recommened On the Verge to women who have just finished college or are stuck in a horrible job and are wondering "is there more to life".
Thank you Ariella Papa for making me see that there is.

Summary: ON THE VERGE is Like Sex and the City in a Novel
Review: For anyone already living in the City, or those "on the verge," this book is the perfect read. Papa describes the Big Apple scene to a tee... from the magazine biz to the dating scene. This book turned me into a subway reader, which I swore I'd never become. I found myself read-walking to and from work, and laughing aloud every few pages. It's hard to put it down once you start reading.

Can't wait for her next book. And by the way, Javagirl reviewer, publishers are supposed to catch grammatical errors, not the writers.

Summary: This is a fantastic light and funny read.
Review: I am a mid-thirties man in New York and I very much enjoyed this book. One thing strikes me right away - look how many people felt compelled to write a review on this book! An unknown author's first!

This book is humorous and a lot of FUN. It is written in a very fresh voice. Mind you, you will learn nothing meaningful from this novel. It's a book for laughs and fun only. BUT IT IS TRUTHFULL.

One reviewer wrote about the main character "She's self-centered, self-important and feels that the world somehow owes her something." Well, she's right. So? First, isn't this true about all of us? I have so much more than most everyone I know, and I still constantly complain about what I "really want." Don't we all? Second, who wants a character without flaws? Part of the fun is saying, "I'm glad I'm not her."

If you want to laugh and get truthful insights into the mind of a typical New York woman in her twenties, give this book a read.

Summary: Bleh...
Review: I got to Page 37 and listed this book on Ebay. I don't like the short sentences and present tense that this Ariella Papa uses. Both characters so far (Eve and Tabitha) are totally unbelievable - but hey, maybe it's because I'm not an image-driven New Yorker. But I somehow doubt that every young person in NY is like this. I was trying to force myself to read this book, but I just can't. There are too many references to "my crotch" or "droopy boobies" and they never really seem appropriate. I guess it's just because out of 37 pages, sexual references have been used at least 20 times already. I think a good book needs to work up to this kind of stuff. And this, is definitely not a good book.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: DONT BUY THIS BOOK
Review: I had high hopes for this book, but it is truly vapid. A waste of time, with little substance, humor or realism.
