Summary: Read it again
Review: I was surprised to read these reviews after reading the book. This obviously isn't Converstaions With the Bible, and was never claimed to be a Christian book. I wonder why so many are offended at their view of "un-Christianness."

While at first glance, the God (or God character) of this book looks as if He lets you do everything and anything, you see that it isn't quite so upon deeper reading. He does ask one to look at personal motiviations and if the thing one is wanting to do REALLY the thing that is wanted. It may make some teens think twice and I could see where it would make others avoid sex and drugs.

It is a shame that just because something does not fit the way we were taught that it somehow becomes "wrong."

Summary: Awful Book
Review: Actually I rate it a -10. I believe the author forget to do one very important thing before he started working on this book. He did no research. He should have studied the BIBLE!!!!!!!

Summary: These answers should cause you to wonder
Review: This book lists many good questions that deserve answers. Some answers are good. But many of the answers given by Walsch's "God" bring up even more questions. For example, Walsch's God says over and over that there is no right or wrong. Now, if that is true, then nothing or no one can be right or wrong, including that sentence! ... That is what no right or wrong means, after all.

Walsch's God also says that we are all in an illusion (and the idea of right and wrong is an illusion). ... All is one means there are no real distinctions between anything, but if there is illusion it implies there is reality. There has to be a distinction to have illusion and reality.

After death, this God says you will "meld" into him, along with everyone else who had died -- everyone, including those serial killers. But, you don't remain there, you eventually "go out" again, then meld again, then go out again, for eternity, according to this God (p. 261). By the way, you lose your individual identity in order to "meld." You can hold onto it for awhile, but eventually, it's gone (p. 314).

...I am banking on the hope that teens are smarter than this 'God ' thinks they are.

Summary: Not my God
Review: The God that the author talkes about is definately not the God that I serve. If you want to get deceived then by all means buy this book.
Just one verse from the God I know (Matthew 18:6 But whoever shall cause one of these little ones to stumble, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he be drowned in the depth of the sea.)Those are strong words, and I think that could include people that promote this book, not just the author.
If you want the truth then read the word of God.(The Bible)
BEWARE!!!!

Summary: Who Cares?
Review: Who cares about the content? This book was just poorly written. What God would talk like that? Didn't this book have an editor? Doesn't God know proper english grammar, or how to write in such a way that doesn't put the reader right to sleep? I don't know of any teens that have an attention span long enough to read a book this boring. The only redeeming factor is the intro by Alanis Morisette, allthough I don't know many teens who even know who she is, and even less who think she is cool! In the words of one teenager "this book is like... so 2000"

Summary: Satanic!
Review: This book is misleading! There is a true Christian book that follows the Bible to a "T" called, "In Conversation with God - Meditations for each day of the year." written by Francis Fernandez. Do not confuse Walsch's writings with the writings of Fernandez! Why would anyone support a book that states there is no right or wrong, or that the ten commandments were not authored by God? Just those two statements alone scares the heck out of me! This book deserves a toss in the garbage heap! It's no wonder that homeschooling is increasing 15% annually. This is some of the stuff that is being taught in our schools and parents are not going to put up with it any longer! This is truly the work of satan! Thank God most of the reviewers here feel the same as I do! Do not buy this book!

Summary: parents beware
Review: If you are expecting this book to be a Biblically based book for Christian teens, move on. The author is new age and the god he is having conversations with is not the God of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. If you are into new age and/or are looking for a belief system that lets you do basically anything you want, you've found your "bible." I found a lot of his "conversations" to be silly and not very well thought out. Some are dangerous in that they could be construed as encouraging dangerous lifestyle habits. That isn't necessarily what the author intended, but when did teens ever listen to what adults are REALLY saying? This book is emphatically NOT for Christians or believers in the Bible and probably not really good for anyone. It seems to encourage a "me first and only" lifestyle and will most likely only confuse teens, at best. At worst, it could do a lot of harm. I gave it one star only because that's as low as the scale goes.

Summary: Mother of 2 teenages with more questions than I can answer!!
Review: I found this book by accident. I've been overwhelmed with questions from my 2 teenage girls. Both in middle school and going through serious changes in how they look at the world. I've always given them answers that I thought was spiritual and insightful. But this book is really packed with lots of answers to questions not every parent wants to be asked. It still gives the child a chance of their own interpretation without misleading them from the spiritual solution. They have both found it insightful and meaningful. I'm still asked the questions but then we talk about the answers they find in "Conversations with God for teens". This book is recommended strongly!

Summary: Oh my god...
Review: Why is a book wrong just becuase it teaches things that Christian's don't belive. Never in this book did the god claim to be the Christian god. It was one persons thoughts on God, and I liked the questions, and some of the answers.

Now, if you can't think of anything outside the Bible, and you don't bother to think for yourself, calling a book that dosn't invorce Christianity SINFUL, then you woun't like it.

I would buy this book, but only if you can think for yourself, and are openminded to other people's views. I am Christian myself, but I felt no desire to flame this book. I enjoied it.

Hmmm. So, tell me that this review wasn't helpful to you, oh all knowing Christian parent.

I could spend time falmming all of your reviews, but I belive in not fighting fire with fire, so... E-mail me and I'll flame u there!

There's probablems with everything, and there were a few things I dissigreed with:

There is no right or wrong. There is a right or wrong, but we don't quite understand the difference between the two. Mostly everything falls beneath a shade of gray, but there are things that are toatlly immoral, like rape and murder.

Also, the school thing, I doubt it would work at all, and I found that answer stupid.

But, I agreed with almost everything else.

Summary: Will the one with the "real" truth please stand up!
Review: Okay for some this book is going to be quite hard to get over. The logic expressed, the mentallity behind, the god relating and telling you what is expected of you, which is absolutely nothing except enjoying yourself and eventually in the next 100 lives reaching your pure spiritual being that you are.
These ideas are what i'd call extremely selfish. They put us, humanity, in a dangerous place because now we have no reason to listen to our concious. It's every man for himself as the first conversations with god book states....
I don't care if it doesn't go along with what we know of the "sovereign God in the bible", but to portray life this way, well it's quite disturbing. In fact it goes against everything that naturally drives us. It tells us to live in the flesh, and somehow by living in the flesh we are able to reach our spiritual bliss. It's nonsense and quite humorous that anyone would believe this trash.
Speaking from a veiwpoint of one who has read the first book, if you believe this book to be true it is only because you want to. YOu don't want to deal with the fact you might actualy be accountable for the things you do, so throw all rules out the window and enjoy life, after all you have what?......at least ten more lives to go!
Pure trash.
