Summary: Hmmm...I thought this was a book and not recycled newspapers
Review: I read this book. Yes, I am very ahamed of it. Currently I cannot look in the mirror or eat by myself. The title seemed cool and all my teachers said it was safe to read. But then, after I finished it, that very night I woke up and realized what I had done. I read the worst "book" ever whose content did not make sense the story line was boring and exaggereated. Stay aways from this please and let me go back to spiiping my Wienerschnetzel through a straw.....

Summary: I realy, realy love this book!
Review: I think this may be the book that made me want to become a writer. I love the way Ms. Duncan wrote it. I like the way all the kids had gifts and how they used them; and the way that Nancy could look at a photo album and see what her Grandmother was saying to her mom and the way she could talk to her Granmother. Realy cool! Every one needs to read this book. Trust me, it's just realy, realy cool. There is no other way to explain it.

Summary: The Gift of Magic
Review: I thought that this book was very good in description and in detail. I think that this book covered the advantages and disadvantages in having this power. I think she delt with it well and deserved to have it all work out. I thought that in some places the story kind of dragged on, but that didn't happen too much. I think that this book was very good and interesting in some places and rather boring in other places. I think children that enjoy a realistic fiction would like this book, but also those who like just plain and simple magic. I think that Lois Duncan did a good job of writing this book. All of her books are wonderful in their suspense and mystery. I believe that this is one of her many good novels and should have more like it.

Go Lancers!!!

Summary: A mystical, magical book
Review: I thought the book "A Gift of Magic" by Lois Duncan deserved four stars. I liked most of the book, I just didn't like the ending much. The story was about Nancy Garrett and her family. When her grandmother died, she left Nancy, her sister, Kirby, and her brother, Brandon, amazing gifts. Kirby got the gift of dance. Brandon received the gift of music. And Nancy received the best gift of all, the gift of magic. At the very end of the book, the "Afterward", Lois Duncan put herself in the story. She kind of made herself a character. I thought that was different, a good different. The story, towards the end, doesn't talk too much about Nancy's magic. All the stuff about her magic was in the first half of the book. So that's why I gave it four stars.

Summary: More Magic Please
Review: I've read many Lois Duncan books and this one is one of my least favorites. I found it boring; very dull. I didn't like Nancy, who was very selfish. I just didn't understand why she put her own happiness in front of her mother's. The one thing I did like was how the book was not only focused on Nancy, but also on Kirby and Brendon. I wouldn't recommend this book. More magic please.

Summary: A Definite Page Turner!!!!!
Review: It was an awesome book. I just got done reading it today. I couldn't put it down. If you haven't read this book you really have to. It's really cool how things work out. Don't read the Epilogue until after you read the book. I was so in to reading this book that I didn't even notice the obvious "thing" in the Epilogue. Agian I say it's a great book.

Summary: Can't put it down
Review: It's a great book!!! It has something for most everyone. Nanny a girl with the gift of magic finds new ways to use; her gift from her grandma who died years back. The book was the first if Lois books I read and I am reading more.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A fantastic book!
Review: Lois Duncan definitely has a way with words, and this book proves no less. Although the begining kind of drags on a bit, this great novel is rich with detail, descriptions, and well-drawn characters. Although we never really learn what Nancy really does with her gift, or what she comes to understand, Duncan, draws a perfect portrait of Nancy's feelings and makes what some think is a weird side of Nancy an intriuging and sometimes eerie sense that just makes you want to keep turning the pages. In the end, this book wins readers over with it's great storyline and detail. An awesome read!
