Rating: Summary: weepy, wonderful, and absolutely, positively amazing!!!!!!!! Review: this book is a must read!!! michael cart's writing is truthful, heartbreaking and breathtaking at the same time. In his book MY FATHER'S SCAR he tells the story of a young man, who, thru much trial and tribulation, learns the true meaning of love and happiness. For the better part of his life, the character in this book has been put down and bullied, for not being "normal", but then he experiences true love at the young age of 15, and his life is changed forever more..........a truly great and stunning read!!!!!! much thanx to the author!!!!! looking forward to the next book!!!
Rating: Summary: My fathers scar left a scar Review: This book was a good book. It deals with a little adult issue,so not for kids 9 and below. Its about a young boy who is learning to deal with his self and learning to accept it.
Rating: Summary: I can relate to the Book! Review: This is an exceptional book. I felt bad when it ended, as I wanted to read more, and would love to talk to the author in person. I could totally relate to the author, as I had a VERY similar upbringing, and found my first love to be someone that I was working with in a church setting! Awesome book..a good read for mature YA readers!
Rating: Summary: A Great book of Understanding and discovery. Review: This is another book that gripped me from page one to the last and was easily readable in about a day.Eighteen-year-old Andy Logan has finally made it to his first year of college, but not without some struggles. As he tries to settle in this new environment, he cannot help but recall the events and experiences that have led him there. It is in these recollections that the author introduces us to a vast array of people - those who had either helped Andy along the way or had threatened his hope to escape. These are the stories of his great-uncle, the one person who seemed to understand him; his father, whose domineering presence and unwavering anger were the rules, not the exceptions; and Evan, an older boy who became his first true love. Rarely does a writer capture the essence of the journed from child to adult so acutely. Michael Cart's dazzling novel is a potent reminder of the pain and the euphoria that come from growing up and how we remember our family, friends, and first loves. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!!!
